I won't sit and watch the whole show. But most of the time its so low even on the highest volume. Please do somthing about it. Not everyone will plug the speakers

    Thank goodness you two did not criticise DNUTN unnecessarily like the others. That drama is already struggling to get more views and is not getting aired on the Big 3 channels. Production value budget wise may be lesser than others, but story telling is solid, casting is superb, messaging is outstanding. It needs more support. Yumna is entirely someone else in the drama, really amazing. The village life and child stars were soo good. Samiya Mumtaz, Yasra Rizvi, Omair Rana, Navid Shehzad, Nadia Afgan, Noor ul Hasan, Kashif all these actors are like always brilliant.

    Dil Na Ummeed To Nahi talks about so many contemporary social issues related to sex, abuse, gender difference, etc. It seems to me a psychological thriller that has been depicted through Yumna's singing which does not appear to me normal at all. She has pain inside her bosom but can't find vent. She is heavy with emotional turmoil from her past life and it's repercussions she finds herself in.

    DNTN is something I was craving for and missing for a long time. Solid content highlighting issues, real characters on actual locations, and strong performances. These were the characteristics of Pakistani drama which were left for superficial scripts and unrealistic glamour. Lots and lots to look forward to.
    Raqeeb se looks intriguing . Couldn’t believe this was hadiqa kiani’s debut. Impressive. Just wondering, aren’t there any younger male actors in the cast, or maybe they would be disclosed at a later stage.

The two women (yumna and Yasra) come laughing into the house and Naveen enjoys and joins in the mirth and appears to be so loving and caring and yet when the girls leave the room a hardness enters the matriarch's {Naveen's } eyes , which tells you that she is all caution and in control. I would like to draw a diametric parallel to Dil Na Ummeed Toh Nahi and Raqs e Bismil, when it comes to emancipation of escorts. While Raqs E Bismil is great in execution, it still has a very romanticised take on rescuing such women. DNUTN dives into the dirt head-on about prostitution, child abuse, pedophilia, dowry system and chauvinism and will be difficult to stomach for the GEC audiences who are used to talking about such topics so hush hush mostly by implying and not using actual words about the problems. I applaud the cast for taking such a huge risk by being part of this project.

    • @prernamehtani676
      @prernamehtani676 3 года назад +8

      Yes, raqs e bismil inspite of having a wonderful story line, the escorts part looks too dreamy, and sara khan was phenomenal as Miral in Sabaat; but she needs to work on her body language and acting as Zohra
      On the other hand DNUTN has yumna zaidi acting so real!!

    • @niharikamishra_
      @niharikamishra_ 3 года назад +3

      @Blessings Ahead it is not, if you observe the conversation between Anaji and Zohra, she is aware she will eventually be sold off to a rich man and Anaji will ensure she gets enough to last her a lifetime. Even NaMurad's girlfriend left him for a 'seth' in Dubai. And paying for a girl's 'company' is only a very nice way of depicting prostitution on commercial TV. DNUTN is taking that risk of depicting truth which is why the mainstream popular channels refused to air it but PTV is allowing it and a small channel TV one.

    • @anasnaveed1477
      @anasnaveed1477 3 года назад +5

      @Blessings Ahead exactly raqs e bismil offers nothing..it's just a typical love story...only the new thing it's of escorted girls whereas DNUTN is brilliant in all aspects from message giving to story line!

      @anasnaveed1477 3 года назад +6

      @Blessings Ahead calm down!
      First of all I didn't knew that you were defending raqs e bismil..😅
      Secondly ik raqs e bismil's execution is great but not to forget its a typical love story and most of the audience like watching dream and hence it is getting more views which is obvious
      And they is no logic comparing the veiws of these both dramas, DNUTN is getting aired on tv one which peope don't watch but still it got so many views bcoz of yumna's supremacy and also everything in it is great!
      If raqs e bismil was to air on tv one it would have been more worse in terms of veiws

    I am awed by the first episodes of raqeeb se and dil na umeed to nahi. But Hassan and Aamna didn't you notice the tiny details in these dramas which are ignored by other directors and writers. Like in the opening scene of raqeeb se when Maqsood Sahab is sleeping we first hear the noise of autorickshaw and then the door bangs. Likewise in Raqs e Bismil have you noticed the hands of Muraad Pan wala? He has got his palms painted as if he were handling paan for a long time. It leaves no ambiguity in character. Everything is flawless.

    I agree with Aamna, I noticed the same about Bee Gul's scripts having a Tagorean feel to it..an old-age charm and a slow unfolding of the narrative. When a story is so rich and the characters so well fleshed out, there is no need to resort to artifice and overdramatization to sustain the viewer's attention. I vote for more of such dramas like Raqeeb se where there are pauses written into the script and it's packed with nuances. On the other hand, DNUTN is probably going to break my heart with its central theme of child abuse and human trafficking but I trust the storyline to deliver on being educational and spreading much-needed awareness on these issues. I applaud Yumna Zaidi's courage for taking on this script & role!

    Hi Hassan an Aamna, I was listening to your very interesting conversation on parenting. I actually agree with Hassan. All parents want their children to grow up well, try to give their best to their children. But how a child grows up has a lot to do with not just his/her parents' teachings but also on the company they keep, friends and a whole lot of other things ( environment, etc). Also a lot on his or her inner qualities. Definitely parents cannot be always blamed for their children's behaviour/ personality ( there are exceptions, ofcourse).
    And Aamna, your observations about the drama Dunk was spot on! I feel for such families where the man is a victim of false accusations.

    In GPM, the Dunk lower school principal is the woman who got a bad facial from the salon and woke up with blisters on her face. What is your point in saying that the woman who plays Mekaal's mother's maid in Dulhan cannot be a lower school principal in Dunk? Exactly what is the purpose of saying such a thing? The woman is an actor and she can play any role she wants unless you want to suggest that she is not playing her part properly. And then to say that we are seeing her in way too many dramas is not fair either. We are seeing Annie and Shahmir's mother from Dulhan everywhere too, such as the Vice Chairman at the university in Dunk but that does not appear to be a problem. I think Ghana's school principal was a very civilized disciplinarian. It is the mother with the child who got hit by Ghana that was acting up and calling Ghana names like "animal" and blaming her father because it totally makes sense to bring that up every opportunity she got. The principal reminded her to be more mindful of using such words before small children. Then she warned Ghana's mother very gently that if her child is violent in the future, she might have to be moved and for the time being Ghana needed to be looked after by her mother and maybe needed to see a mental health specialist.

      Very well said. I was also disappointed on these comments about that supporting actor. Abhi kuch din pehlay tak amna or hassan supporting actors ke haq men itna ziada nol rahay thay or aaj ye comment.
      I think the woman did her role very well both in GPM and Dunk.

      @@shaukatahmad8416 Speaking of supporting cast that need to be discussed, I think the track of Uzair's family in GPM is written with a lot of mental and creative effort. It deserved comment ever since it was introduced. Amna says, "Mujhe samajh nahi ata" and then voila, it is non-existent. The females in that family are very upfront and still compassionate. They are the closest to Samia's personality. Just like Tashi calls every one of Samia's ex-husbands Dulha Bhai, Uzair's sister also calls her elder sister's ex-husband Dulha Bhai. Not one word has been uttered inside their walls about Samia's marriages of which the rest of the neighborhood has lost count. Uzair's sister has only found herself in awe of Samia's beauty and the softness behind her feisty, warrior's exterior. Dabbu, Uzair's nephew has made an impression at least with the ladies next door, ever since he appeared on screen. The sneaky thief snooping in his wife's closet reminds us of Riz. The hospitality shown by Samia's mother when the new neighbours moved was so heartwarming.
      It even took a while for Amna to appreciate the details in Amtul Bhabi's character as well. Ghisi Piti Muhabbat isn't a theme based drama. It is several different households and their gritty realities patched together in one product.
      The creators also have a pattern. When you saw Shoaib as Asmara's fiance, they showed the launderette sniffing Shoaib's clothes sitting close to Shoaib's mother before you knew she was Shoaib's mother. Similarly, when Uzair, the last man in Samia's life moved next door, it was important to show their family dynamics and their source of livelihood - being cheap beauticians who willingly compromise on safety standards to save costs. Amna suddenly has no gehra taluq with fashion. I don't know if it is because there are new faces on screen, and Amna as an established journalist already has favourites in names that were here longer than the others, or maybe it is because she does not comment on every strata in Ghisi Piti Muhabbat or she is just bored with the fourth boy's (in Samia's love life) family and their baggage. But I can say for sure, those neighbours are hard to ignore, and as Ghisi Piti Mohabbat is closing (for those who haven't watched the last double episodes like myself), they're refreshingly positive unlike most toxic people in the drama. It is these amazing neighbours and phuppo's wedding that made Samia's mother get back her chill and be nice with Samia again. This is just in time for that immaculate parting message I'm expecting to hear in the last episode, where Samia would pick staying single over getting married when hard luck has taught her marriage just isn't in the cards, and her family eases up to the idea without being bitter about it.

    I didn't get Aamna's objection to the actor who played house help in Dulhan also playing the school principal in Dunk. Why should she be denied opportunity to play different characters? Unfortunately, Aamna' argument was unclear and came out in poor taste, esp when we applaud actors like Bilal or Yumna playing different characters.

    • @ayeshaqayyum6886
      @ayeshaqayyum6886 3 года назад +11

      Please see the performance of that "principal" once again. As maid or neighbor she did well but she could not even speak as well educated person being the principal of school. Plus one can't compare a versatile actor like Yumna to such actor.

    • @aufrufmagic
      @aufrufmagic 3 года назад +13

      @@ayeshaqayyum6886 I'm not comparing Yumna to this actor. My point was: Aamna's comment was in poor taste because she put it as a poor casting decision not because of performance but because someone who played a maid in other serials should not have been taken as a school principal in DUNK. Atleast that's how it came out. We can assume Aamna meant performance, but that is not how it was articulated. I didn't expect that from Aamna, and was surprised that Hassan didn't immediately correct it. Because, I recall there was another instance where Hassan had pointed at a male actor who played a house help in Ishq Zane Naseeb and another character else where. He compared the performance of the same actor in these two diff dramas to argue that good direction can really give actors an opportunity to shine. So, that was just to say yardstick we use for judgements should be explained well even if we use diff yardsticks for diff purposes. That's all.

    I'm loving Raqeeb Se so much I'm almost scared of the introduction of any new characters lest they burst the delicious, intense little bubble created by the chemistry between the triangle and the two daughters.
    Hadiqa's character appears self conscious about her appearance which the audience might read as shame or guilt about intruding into her old flame's life but if you watch closely she is a determined woman and seems to have a long game plan. Noman Ijaz's character appears to have read that hence his misgivings and brusque behaviour towards the guests. Sania's character isn't as naive as we might assume but she is subtle in asserting her position such as when she relays her miscarriage story. She is staking her claim without acting like the jealous wife. So so deep it is a treat to treasure.
