we have 2 components to manage products: 1. Product Catalogue Management (PCM!) 2. Thank you so much . so clearly you have xplained. but i have a doubt. SO what is STEP Stibo do with PIM. I thought PIM is a concept and step is a tool can manage PIM. Is my understanding correct?
Hi Vanishree! Yes, so for the longest time, PIM has been a concept, just like CRM was a concept 15 years ago. Customer data had been managed in spreadsheets and the 'little black book' for sales people. Then tools came along to help companies manage that specific concept more efficiently. It was first introduced for larger enterprise players but smaller businesses normally cant afford that. Eventually, technology became more available for the smaller players (more affordable and user-friendly). This is the same with PIM. You can manage your product data in spreadsheets, but in all honesty doing so adds hours of work and eventually becomes unmanageable, especially as your catalog and sales channels grow. Or you use add-ons of your existing software (like MDM or ERP - like Stibo). But that takes away user-friendliness of these tools. Plytix PIM is making Product Information Management software accessible for SMBs, so they can manage their products just as efficiently as the big guys, but more user-friendly and budget-friendly. Hope this helps!
Hi Ruby! Product Information Managements includes all the information it takes to market and sell your products. It includes everything from technical information like SKU, to marketing information like product titles, description, technical specifications, assets (images, videos, pdfs, etc) but product inventory management only manages the data pertaining to your warehouses so for example, whether a product is in stock and what quantity you have. Hope this helps 😄

Hi Mahdi, a PIM is not made to manage inventory quantities, this is something that better should be maintained within an ERP or inventory management system. it’s possible to sync data automatically via our scheduled feed imports every 3 hours or via our open REST-API, but this means there might be changes within the inventory that might not be reflected until the next time your data syncs. In other words, it won't show the fluctuation of your inventory in real-time. In any case, in a PIM we would always recommend setting up an “Availability” status that marks your product according to the inventory with statuses such as “In Stock”, “Last Units”, or “Out of Stock”, rather than maintaining the actual inventory number. I hope this helps, but if you have any more questions, you can always reach out to us by the chat in the bottom-right corner of this page here bit.ly/3n3I6NI

but, I have question about PIM,
Can the PIM keep the number stored in the warehouse (quantity)?
