- Lake Erie Islands/Kelley's Island is a Must See! About an hour and 20 minutes west of downtown Cleveland, you can catch one of several ferries and tour (or stay) at one or more of Lake Erie's Islands. In this video, we explore one of the larger islands - Kelley's Island.
With it's the glacial grooves and historic cemetery, Kelley's Island is rich in history. Want to hang out at some local establishments? Kelley's has much to offer in that department. Looking for a hike? Kelley's has an abundance of nature trails to explore. The Lake Erie Islands are a must see in the summer time...after watching this video you will probably want to book your trip!!

You know you can drive Ohio route 2 west of Cleveland all the way to either route 4 north, towards Sandusky, or get off & go into Port Clinton (route 163), instead of driving the turnpike.
The islands are lovely,Kelly’s or PIB,choose your own vibe,one is more party,the other,quieter,more private experience.
If you really wanna go off the map,literally,there is pellet island,Canadian.
There’s a part of that island called ‘little Lorain’,because so many people from Lorain have summer homes there!

I live in Kelly’s year round. My house is located at the corner of Beach Rd and W Lakeshore about 8 houses west of the West Bay Inn. Thx for the video and holla at me when you see me on the porch. It’s the big porch facing Perry’s Monument with a swing in the front yard by the lakeshore (with a huge garden in the side yard)……..Peace

Is Kelley’s island fairly dog friendly?
It depends where you go…some outdoor only places are dog friendly. Take the dogs!!
The most friendly Dog Island on the lake. You can bring your dog in many of the establishments and swim with them at the beaches
