    TL;DR: If you're into the latest games like Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Forbidden West, grab the latest drivers for better performance.
    On the flip side, if you're more into competitive games like CS, PUBG, and Warzone, roll with the AMD 23.11.1 drivers for better stability and 1% lows.

    Did you delete the shader cache for 23.11.1? I haven't played most of these games but the cases of bad 1% lows (e.g. in Alan Wake) look like they might be shader compilation stutter. Could either be the issue that started with 24.6.1 and still isn't fully fixed or because you played those games before on 23.11.1. Thanks for the testing!

    • @RX6600-CDPR
      @RX6600-CDPR Месяц назад +1

      Does deleting shader cache improve performance bro?

    • @pcgamingftw5694
      @pcgamingftw5694 Месяц назад +3

      @@RX6600-CDPR No, only if it was cached with an older or newer driver that isn't compatible with the cache anymore or if it got corrupted. Usually, you play through a game that doesn't precompile them and you get the stutters and frametime spikes you see in the alan wake 2 footage on the 24.7.1 because it compiles them while you play and the 2nd time you can play smoothely like in the 23.11.1 footage. Unless you update your drivers, change the system, OS or the game gets updated, all of these will bring back the stutters. It's why you have so many games nowadays that have insanely long loading when you boot them up for the first time. Better that than a stutter fest. Haven't played alan wake 2 though so I don't know if it suffers from this issue.
      In general, don't delete any shader cache. Just keep it until you want to upgrade to a new driver and then use DDU to completely remove your old driver and your cache will be automatically removed, as the new driver can't use the old cache. Hope this helps!

      @@radenarellano6631 It depends, for example 24.6.1 made certain games unplayable due to shader compilation stutter. Rolling back to 24.5.1 was the only fix if you played those games affected. And as you can see in certain scenarios a change in the code that helps one game imrpove might break something and make another game slower. All relative...

      That would be true if there weren't regressions. A prior version _can_ be better coded for a particular game, or even all games if the regressions are bad enough.
