As someone who studied journalism, I know exactly what has happened with these articles. An initial article was published (what I like to call Patient Zero) with either incorrect information from a bad source, or more than likely made up to sound better. And then other writers copied the article, changed a few words around to avoid plagerism, didn't fact-check anything because 1) it wastes time and being early is more important than being correct in journalism, and 2) you can always retract stuff later. I know this because we were taught exactly how to do this in our journalism course, and when I complained the tutor shrugged and said that's how it's done. So yeah, that's how wild information spreads, and it spreads faster than ever nowadays.
That sounds about right! Who knows, it could be true after all, but that's probably how these articles were done regardless!
@@SomeBoiOnline I hope it turns out to be true too. Be nice to get a full film again with the lads 😌
I wonder if BBC One would make another Wallace and Gromit ident this Christmas? Of maybe idents featuring Mrs Brown's Boys or How to Train Your Dragon?
It would certainly be cool to see Wallace & Gromit feature in the idents!
They might just be testing the water to see what the reaction is. They may have a lot of material, but depending on how certain elements are received, may decide to cut it to the length of a short film, hence they haven't confirmed if it is feature or short yet.
There certainly could be some uncertainty as to the final runtime behind the scenes, but I know they rarely delete scenes due to how expensive and time consuming they are to animate.
i hope it's a feature film
Not to mention Feathers Mcgraw's cameo in Chicken Run 2 I'm wondering if he is going after revenge on Wallace and Gromit since he's escapes from prison that I'd like to see. I hope Hutch and Lady Tottington return in the new Wallace and Gromit media where they will work together to stop Feathers Mcgraw. I wonder what happened to Victor Quartermaine in the curse of the ware rabbit do you think he and his dog Phillip will team up with Feathers Mcgraw to strike back at Wallace, Gromit, Hutch and Lady Tottington?
I'm nearly certain it's a feature. One of the animators made a post right after Chicken Run 2 was done that they were onto work on the new Wallace and Gromit "feature film". (I commented this before, but I don't have sources because I cannot remember who it was, so ya'll will just have to take my word for it). I also lean toward it being a feature film because I feel like "short film" would have been specified very early on if it were. "film" is typically referred to as a feature unless otherwise specified.
Will be interesting to see if the final runtime lines up with this info. Haven't seen anything myself so it's hard to say.
its going to be a tight schedule if it is 45 mins or more. the most logical length is 60mins. Also where on christmas day its going to be since we are guaranteed Eastenders, Doctor Who, Strictly, Gavin & Stacey & Call the midwife. Unless it is a movie length product i can only see the post kings speech slot of 3:10PM
Since 2005 the movie Wallace and gromit curse of the were rabbit it was theatrically in theaters and also it became the first stop motion movie to win a oscar award in 2006 and also in June 12th they show a sneak peek of the movie in France that’s where the Olympics is held in Paris and that’s on summer vacation
Long live W&G - I watched 'The Wrong Trousers' with my kids last week and I realised that I was their age when it released back in the '90s. So I'm very happy for something which was part of my childhood to be part of theirs.
Aw that's great, I'm sure the films will entertain many generations to come.
Wallace and Gromit, FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine if Shaun bitzer & the farmer makes a cameo in the upcoming wallace and gromit film
Maybe cause Shaun’s show is a Wallace & Gromit spin off
It's interesting because I'm pretty sure the Shaun the Sheep series takes place in a separate universe to the W&G films, despite Shaun debuting in one of them. A discussion on it would probably make for a good video.
@@SomeBoiOnline that would be a good video to make someboi online
the one thing im hoping for the most is the possibility of Aardman bringing back the basis for the Anti Pesto van!
Now ofc there's 3 liveries of that van, the other 2 being one in A Matter of Loaf and Death and also in a RUclips video on their YT account. I would love to see that van return if it be in the original Anti Pesto livery or a completely new variant.
Plus The Were Rabbit is defo my favourite out the lot.
Couldn't agree more, love TCOTWR and would be great to see the Anti-Pesto van return!
Can’t wait for it to be finally released
You can say that again after 16 years of waiting! 😅
Very nice! I had not heard about this news! I love Wallace & Gromit in any capacity...short or feature-length. It is just good to see the duo return! It is sad we no longer have Peter Sallis to voice Wallace, but I'm sure his replacement will be great! Stop motion is a long and arduous process, so I'd wager it will be another short if I was a betting man.
That was my thought too, given it's only been in production for a couple of years. Indeed, hopefully Ben Whitehead will continue to capture the spirit of Peter Sallis in his performance!
@@SomeBoiOnline Yeah, and truthfully, I kinda want it to be a short. I think that's the perfect format for Wallace and Gromit, and I'd love to see more of them added to the rotation of airings with the current four every holiday.
And yeah, I suspect we'll get Ben Whitehead. Sallis was THE Wallace, but Whitehead is an impressive imitation. I suspect he's up to par with what Park wants since the main reason he was unsure about making more shorts was due to losing Sallis as Wallace.
I very much hope I'm wrong, but I'm not sure they've had/ will have had long enough to produce a full movie between Chicken Run and the release date - even with the updates to the tech, these movies take years to make.
Agreed, though we're not sure how big of a team has been working on it and for how long exactly.
Chicken Run 2 was okay. The writing honestly wasn't great but the visual comedy was spot on.
Yeah I'd have to agree. Instantly weaker story than the older stuff, but the Aardman charm was still there somewhat.
I've said this before Merlin Crossingham IS Nick Park's right hand man when it comes to Wallace and Gromit...
He's now the creative director of W&G so yeah, a pretty big role to play!
I know him in person, actually i first met him in a defunct annual mexican event called Creativa Fest IN 2015
Sounds interesting I'm happy there premiering it on the BBC first as thats what normally happens, hopefully it is feature-length. 👍
Yep, will be great to have W&G back on BBC One!
Yeah U find it quite off with the lack of info. Especially given tge hype for a new aardman film. But Netflix were never good at advertising anything.
I cannot wait! Since I was little, I have loved (still do) Wallace and Gromit💯💯💯
My gut is telling me that we’ll be treated to a new Wallace and Gromit short at the end of the year - perhaps premiering on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/Boxing Day on BBC1, as per tradition. I reckon it will then be exclusively available to watch on Netflix for a certain length of time. I think if this were a full feature film, it would be realised in cinemas worldwide. What do you think, Some Boi Online? 😊
I think it could go either way, Chicken Run 2 was a feature but didn't release in cinemas due to the Netflix partnership, the same could happen for W&G!
I'm really looking forward to it arriving soon, but sometimes I'm afraid that expectations might ruin my experience when I saw what was somewhat the case with Chicken Run: Dawn Of the Nuggets. which was also a beautiful film, but it didn't have the same reach as the first film.
Yeah I think most can agree that Dawn of the Nugget was good, but didn't quite capture the magic of the first.
Yeah, I admit I kinda felt the same about the movie and Loaf and Death. They were still good, but nothing will beat the original trilogy for me. Though if they're still on that level as the later ones, they should still be enjoyable.
On an Instagram post, people have been commenting that Aardman movies don't deserve to be distributed via Netflix. So imagine if Aardman had a different distributor, what would you think it would be? (NOT DISNEY THOUGH!)
I am feeling nervous at the same time.
How Aardman challenged themselves with these movies are what made them so great - like The Pirates!
I think that whenever Aardman have collaborated with someone, they've never allowed the other company's values to smear their own. Hopefully that's still the case here!
My biggest hope is that it will be released on DVD so I can add to my Wallace and Gromit collection. If it’s being aired on the BBC, that gives me hope it’ll make it to home media.
Even if we don’t know much yet, I’m still super excited. The four shorts and Were Rabbit are amongst my favourite films of all time, and even though Peter Sallie is sadly no longer with us, Ben Whitehead is doing a decent job of capturing the spirit of Wallace even if his voice is noticeably different.
I'd be surprised if we don't see it on physical media eventually!
@@SomeBoiOnline Probably will, since they already have 'Complete Collection' DVD Bluray boxsets that will now need to be updated.
I wonder if Gromit has puppies with the poodle from matter of loaf and death that would be cute
Just looked this up and apparently you'd get "Poogles" if a Beagle (Gromit) and Poodle (Fluffles) were to breed! Cute indeed 😅
Can’t wait! 😜
Same! 😄
Honestly, I'm very cautiously optimistic, after Chicken Run 2, they messed that up so badly (outside of some beautiful animation). It had a weak storyline, jokes that didn't hit like the original, and characters reduced to gags rather than being real characters with a use to the plot.
Fair point, I'm cautiously optimistic about most things these days!
I can't hardly wait to watch it when it's released!
You're not alone!
Nice I’m excited for this masterpiece
Nice indeed!
I think the new Wallace and Gromit Movie can be a Short Film or a Full Length Feature Film? Who Knows?.
So leaks likely start appearing mid June unless Netflix or Aardman gets ahead of the fact.
Ether way, Christmas is going to be a banger for you brits lol, can’t wait.
Let's hope so!
You should hop across to France!!!
I'd love to, but it would be a bit tricky to get there (not to mention expensive!)
I would like to point out that the person who voiced Wallace is dead
Yeah, they've been trying a replacement actor for a while now, he voices Wallace in loads of commercials and video games.
woo hoo!!
🥳
It seems to me it'll be without doubt another short because it's being premiered on the BBC, if it wasnt for that fact i wouldn't be sure, but we'll see.
To me, W&G work so much better in short films though, that's where they belong. The huge cast of characters played by A list actors just doesn't cut it. I love the quiet charm of the original 3 and grew up with them, so I'm hoping this is a return to form. All we really need is Wallace, Gromit, the villian and one or 2 other side characters, if that happens I'll be a happy man!
I love the shorts, but adore what TCOTWR did too. It featured only two big actors and Peter Kay... 😅 Whilst Sallis remained in the lead role. I think that's pretty good going for a Hollywood adaptation. I'd welcome the stripped back format, however!
Really, I want another short too. I wouldn't mind another movie like Wererabbit down the line, but I think the humble claymation shorts are the series 'heart' and I want more of them within the rotation BBC currently has with the existing four. I still think it's a shame we got NONE during the 2010s era when Sallis was still around.
@@SomeBoiOnline Were Rabbit definitely is a great film, but it does feel like it exists in a separate world to the shorts, that's just me though! Would be interesting to see what they'd do with another feature length
@@e-122psi3yeah I feel the same way. The shorts is the essence of W&G, where it's heart is as you say.
@@alexwells6876 I feel like nearly all the works have a kinda separate feel, there's no recurrent characters or locations that often besides the main two and maybe the odd cameo from Shaun or Feathers. Reminds me how comedy shorts like Laurel and Hardy or Three Stooges worked, always a different scenario each time.
I hope lady tottington returns I pair her with Wallace
Undoubtedly the most interesting of Wallace's love interests. They even kept her around for the DFS adverts a few years back!
@@SomeBoiOnline I agree 😊😊😊😊😊
I know everything is up in the air, but I'm still well excited! I hope they pay some sort of tribute to Peter Sallis, I dont know if they would but that would be so sweet to honour him
That would be lovely. Even considering his passing was a while ago now, this will be the first film he hasn't featured in.
@SomeBoiOnline That's exactly what I thought, I hope they do it would be so touching! Good to see you back btw mate! :)
Cheers, glad to be back!
Oh this is exciting! 🤩 I dont want to get my hopes up for a feature but omg that would be so awesome! A short would be great as well. Ill take what i can get atp 🤭
Who Knows
I would like to watch a newer Wallace and Gromit as a matter fact I literally didn't know it was going to be rebooted!
It's more of a continuation than a reboot, but the shorts were never too interconnected anyway. Either way, it's new Wallace & Gromit!
@@SomeBoiOnline Oh okay it seems to be a nice continuation to the classical movies!
June 12th it’s a sneak peek of the Wallace and gromit movie
Maybe it could be 1 hour long
The runtime could be anything really!
Wallit and Gromice
I wonder who will be cast as Wallace since Peter Sallis died in 2017.
Ben Whitehead has been voicing Wallace in various side projects since 2005 and took over when Sallis passed.
Yay
🥳
It might be a short because I haven’t done it since 1995 there year when 9 to 5 was bad
I'm assuming Ben Whitehead is back
so does this comfirm its a feature film an not a short which is great news
In the video I mention that it's not confirmed either way, though some news articles are claiming it's a feature.
