Great video Mike! It's a nice feeling when you sort out a problem that has been bugging you... Cant wait to see how the industrial area and Auction house look once they are done. Cheers from Australia!
Thanks for the update Mike! Ron Marsh gave you a shout out during his Documenting Your Layout via Video clinic at the 2023 NMRA MCOR Convention this weekend.
I know how electric gremlins pop up and it is a bother for sure. Once fixed however, you are good to go. Nice job. My wife always knows I have been under the layout because somewhere on my bald head there is a new bleeding bump. At least I have a hard head I guess..
You are correct on the numbering on the DS74’s. Be glad you don’t use facia push buttons for your turnouts as well. Digitrax that much more difficult with the DS74 as well. They are trying to force users to use their setup. On the shorting issue, I sympathize with you. Peco Unifrog turnouts have virtually eliminated the need for gapping rails - they are sweet! Thanks for another excellent video!
Hi ya Mike. “ Everything works! “ That’s great news. The auction house is coming along nicely. Interesting info on the Digitrax equipment. See ya next time.
Dear Mike, saw you do it before, definitely like the way you’ve shown how you do the styrene insulation gaps. Never mind the stuff laying down, it’s just a sign you’re getting there. Oh, and on being ‘brain-stuck;’ absolutely get that. Especially when such complicated issues arise. It almost always seems that to tackle such problems we can only solve ‘m by exclusion, one by one. That requires a lot of attention. So, when inevitably other things come along, we need to take time to either get back to the particular attention span, or we remain in that frame of a focused mind. Hope you’ll sleep better quickly. Cheerio
Looks Great Mike , Hope you are doing well after your "procedure" . Lerned from you years ago on Kato turnouts to insolate the exits on both tracks so when i moved to Peco I did the same . Now Making those turnouts "dcc Ready" that what a mess!!!! . I know your feeling about the DS74 ..I abandoned them between the change in the feedback circuit and addressing ..Great content as usual My best to you and your family ....Oh and tell Gavin the weathering job was Amazing well worth it .
Man I was fooled again at the end!!!! Mike stoooop fooling me lol😂😂 I would be careful what you call those wires lol they may just get back at ya!! ha ha anyway another great video and I am glad you got things working again!! being brain stuck I have been there done that lol and as far as things laying around yours is nothing as to compared of all the stuff laying around and under my layout lol Take care Have a great week ahead!!
And looks good there, Mike and throwing it. Looking good? So this is your buddy from Wisconsin Darren. So I just wanted to say it's looking good and other naptime
Yay! Nicely done Mike! You did the right thing. You convinced the Sante Fe to abandon it's branch line so that the ACT could take total control of the remainder (the loop), instantly removing any need for complicated wiring! Thanks also for the information about the DS64's and DS74's. That'll come in handy!
awesome video Mike! My mom was from Albuquerque and so I am very familiar with New Mexican Culture. I even have a billboard on my layout for The Roadrunner Cafe with New Mexican and Sonoran cuisine!! BTW Go Aggies :) Mom was a proud Alumni of NMSU Cant wait for future videos
Hey Mike, I'm glad you figured out the shorting issue. I'm gonna have to use your saying about unscrambling your mind is like trying to unscramble a brillo pad. 😁 I like your idea of bringing the trains through the yard to get to the reversing loop. It's coming along nicely, I can't wait to see the finished auction house. I'm also curious to see what you are gonna have to do with the DS74s to get them programmed. Why did they discontinue the DS64s? I guess they don't subscribe to the idea of if it ain't broke don't fix it way of thinking. 🤷♂️
Hey Mike, I sympathize with you about the DS74s. But I took a different route when my DS64s started to fail, and replaced them with DS52s. although the 52s only control 2 Kato turnouts per unit, they are easy-peasy to program and very reliable. And since I'm a cheap b*****d I can get 3 of them for a street price of $60 total vs one DS74 at about $65. So there is some savings there. I really do appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos however, they provide great insights and motivation. Don't ever stop evolving the ACTRR4.
For Me I Have Track Work For the Wife’s And My to Do Still on Our N Scale then Just got The Shelving Done Now Just Put the Track Down Then go to The Train Shows And Get our Stuff we Need to Get.

The mysteries of model railroading, Mike. Things often just start working, and we have no idea how or why. ...Roy

Nice work with the Peco Switches. Looking good. I prefer to use them as you have. My choice as well. Although you are certainly better at it.
