I agree that when you layer, the journal gets too bulky. I used to also remove some of the middle pages, in anticipation of the bulk. However, I encountered the same problems you have now in your journal. Another option for you would be to remove entire folios instead. Just leave the first leaf in each folio, which is usually glued to the backing fabric anyway. I usually count the folios first and remove every even numbered one, leaving the first and last folios intact anyway. This usually leaves me with a little bit more than half the original pages, but I find its the right amount, just to keep the journal evenly closed. Your channel is calm vibes as ever.
hii!! first of all i want to say im from Türkiye so i can't speak eng so well, im still trying to learn🌸 I've been watching ur videos for the last few days, and I absolutely loved all of ur journal videos! I have been interested in making journal since about 2020. And it was helping me deal with my anxiety a lot... But I have been facing many psychological problems for about a year, that's why I never started journaling. and u helped me get over this the last few days that i watched your videos! I started journaling again this week and I'm so happy with this now. thank you for inspiring me🥺❤️ i love your lovely videos, congratulations on your achievements! 🥺💫💫💫 I hope one day I will have the courage to open a RUclips channel like yours and upload journal videos! love from Türkiye🦋🦋
I recommend Alix Harrow’s books the Spindle Splintered and A Mirror Mended. Read in that order. I read them backwards by mistake. They are fairy tales reworked. Very entertaining.
I HIGHLY recommend A Night in the Lonesome October by Roger Zelazny! It has 31 chapters, one for each day of the month! (plus an intro chapter) It has many classic scary story references/characters like dracula, frankenstein, sherlock holmes, etc and it is gripping and spooky and fun and my friend and I read it every year! 🎃💚
Thank you for the reading update. I really enjoy these videos because they’re not sped up so I can really enjoy each step of your beautiful designs and collages. 🍏
Gorgeous spreads! The pink and green ones were particularly lovely 💚💗 For spooky reads I recommend Catriona Ward, I've read 3 of her books so far and they were all excellent.
Iron Widow 🙏 omg, you need to read that one. I didn’t read such a great fantasy in a long time and I love how it’s a little bit dark and also has a lot from the Chinese/Asian history, culture and mythology! ^^
For non-fiction - audiobooks might help make them more accessible for you! You could listen at your own pace while doing other things. If your library has digital options, it's a great way to give audiobooks a go without needing to worry about how pricy they can be. There seems to be a trend in the online reading-video-making community of needing to race to read a ton of books. Of hitting numbers of 'books read' instead of just...reading for the pleasantness of it. If you read one book a month and take value from the experience, that is worth more than 20 a month that you just forget as soon as you put down. I go through phases where I easily hit over 20 a month; right now, I'm lucky if I read one or two a month. Which is okay, it is what it is. 💚 Some recommendations: In Ascension by Martin McInnes (sci-fi) Below the Edge of Darkness by Dr Edith Widder (nonfiction) Anne of Green Gables (classic) Piranesi by Susanna Clarke (fantasy)
So I also had a ribbon bookmark fall out of my B5 that I use for my collections journal - I just used a dot of super glue and stuck it to the signatures like the other one :) I love what you decided to do for your reading challenge
Wait how did I miss your priory of the orange tree post?! Welp yay cause that means I get a bonus video from you that’s new to me! (It’s on my the but I just keep pushing it back)😂
I'm a little late, but happy to be here! Your spreads are always so beautiful. Thanks for sharing! I'm currently reading Guideon the Ninth, it's like sci-fi necromancer... a but wired but jm enjoying it so far!
Bonjour ! I'm a new subscriber. I really liked how you put together the pages of your journal. The result is cute and/or visually pleasing every time. And thanks for the discovery of Sibylline Meynet, she's really talented too ! Have a nice day !
I love watching your content. For non-fiction, which I also find really difficult, try reading Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Potawatomi professor Robin Wall Kimmerer, I found this book fascinating and I got sucked in like I was reading a fantasy novel.
If you haven't read Stephen King's 'Misery', I highly suggest it. I read it at the beginning of this month, and I think it would be a great spooky season read
Cute projects! Anything you can do on your channel is OK with us! No pressure from your community, we know you must be with your family so anything we get is great!
The main witchy sticker you used reminds me of the Tiffany Aching books by Terry Pratchett. Have you read them? The first is The Wee Free Men. They're fun, funny and light.🍃
🦎 I like Heart of The Sun Warrior spread by Sue Lynn. The warm hues. Desire I comprehended your verbiage. Delighted, you pointed out a spooky reader. I exist reading The Cauldron Stirred by Judith Sterling. Fantastic setting in Ireland. The sceneries stand impressive but it exists not so sizably analogous to mysticism as the cognomen. Remarkable engagement. Shiva hallowing in your contemporary apartment. Stand unassailable. 🦎
Just a little suggestion for 2024. The list of items at the very beginning of a journal / book, with page numbers in numerical order is actually the contents page. The index goes at the back and is not in page number order but alphabetical order of topics / themes with relevant page numbers. I think the original bujo guy got them mixed up and unfortunately it seems everyone has followed him. I really hope one influencer will realise and let everyone know. 😊
🧃Love your videos! I was thinking about my journals/planners for next year and I wasnt going to do a reading journal (I was just going to incorporate it into my planner for 2024) but now I am second guessing it 😆 ✌🏽+❤
I am so happy to see this video! I just got my journal to setup as a reading journal. Ive been trying to find a way to track what im reding nd i have been bullet journling since 2018 so going to give it a go!
Love your reading journal videos! They inspire me to read other books then just Fantasy 😂 I would recommend Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. It has themes of creation, connection to nature, and dangerous knowledge. I plan on reading Dracula by Bram Stoker in October!
Oh I've read Dracula but haven't read Frankenstein yet! I also recommend Carmilla by Sheridan le Fanu, it's a lot shorter than Dracula and its predecessor.
💚 Always love your videos so much! And these spreads were so cute (definitely the Dalmations one). Here are some recommendations for spooky month: - "Cemetery boys" by Aiden Thomas - "Horrorstör" by Grady Hendrix - "House of Hollow" by Krystal Sutherland - "Mexican Gothic" by Silvia Morena-Garcia - "World War Z" by Max Brooks These are a few of my favourites! And these are non extreme horror. I have a few of those too, if you want them! Happy reading!
I always recommend 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' by Ray Bradbury for an October read. It's the PERFECT book to get you in the Halloween/spooky season. It's not the scariest horror book out there, but it's creepy and eerie and filled with imagination. I would HIGHLY recommend it!💚
Non-fiction book rec: Born Naked by Farley Mowat, an amusing and interesting memoir of the Canadian author/environmentalist's childhood of benign neglect.
I started to think if this could work for writing and gaming journals? To me it would be both in same journal cus it could be nice to have some lists of games and my story ideas but i dont play or write enough to fill full book
Are you reading these books in English and writing your experience down in Norwegian? That'd be an interesting approach, I tend to keep my reviews in the same language as the books themselves, cause it feels easier to express thoughts that way.
Yes, that’s usually how I do it when I read books in English☺️ Norwegian is my native language, so I do feel like I can express myself better in Norwegian than in English☺️
@@mochibujo oh wow, I didn't expect an answer, let alone so quickly! Thank you ♥️ to be honest, I just discovered your videos and it took you mentioning learning English to make me realise that you're not a native speaker, haha! I think I'll try using my native language and seeing if it's more comfortable. I'm in the planning stage, not yet doing, but your videos are a great inspiration ☺️

THAT SPOILER 😭 Hedda !!! 17:30 mute the video if you don’t want to hear it…
I’M SORRY!😭 It’s the first time I’ve spoiled something in a reading journal video, I should’ve put a spoiler warning!!😣

If you haven’t read The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, then I highly recommend it for October. 👍🏼
