Joey Votto also helped Benson on hitting before the Boston series he has been lights out ever since the speed of the team is amazing they have 102 stolen bases with one game to play before the all-star break.

So glad to see Joey having fun. After all of the years he has been the face of some subpar Reds teams.
A World Series ring would be another box checked for the HOF.

Elly reminds me of Pete Rose. No, they aren't the same player.... but its the "head in the game... INTENSITY". Such competitive drive!

Joey Votto isn't the player he was earlier in his career anymore, but he's still good enough to help mentor these young guys and provide a solud bat late in the order.
He's the perfect type of player to help guys out because he's a cerebral hitter. He studied the art of hitting and modeled his style after Ted Williams and that is absolutely something that can be taught.
This is very likely his last year in the majors, and it would be amazing if you can go out with a deep playoff run or, if I even dare to dream, a world series win to ride into the sunet.

I'm an old school die hard Colt 45's /Astro fan and I have Directv MLB retired and play DraftKings. I gotta admit I watch the Reds ! It flashes of my youth and good times . This kid for now is unbelievable talent wise. But there is always the down side ,slumps , make him chase bad pitches , throw inside. all the old pitcher tricks and the jealous ones to . The one s that will hit you on purpose. Acuna went through all that. But this kid is slightly above him. Its the 69' Mets in Red. All they need is an old veteran pitcher and they will make the playoffs. A guy like Blackburn from the A's or Detmers from the Angels who are falling out. The steal of home was like LL and it pissed some mgrs off so lets see what happens in the second half.

Joey Votto is a class act who manages to say the right things in almost any situation or interview. He’ll be a fantastic broadcaster someday. . . . But hopefully not yet.
