Hi Tim, I have those Meike extension tubes and 2 other sets myself. Thosse Meike tubes aren't that bad. Extention tubes are in my series on starting Macrophotography on a budget. Thank you sharing your nice video with us.

Kersten Photo thank you for your comment. I think they do a pretty good job for that price point. I’ll check out your channel too.

Can a 36MM Meike extension tube be used with NikonZ 105MM lens and Nikon ES-2 for Macro

I have a 100mm Macro lens already, would these still be worth buying to get 116mm macro?

An actual macro lens is always going to get you better results. These adapters can be a fun alternative and even prove to have some decent quality. I haven’t compared this situation before so I can’t tell you if it would be worth it. Please let me know what you decide. I would love to hear the results.

I was hoping for more discussion about build quality and materials used. Did they feel solid and connect securely? They looked decent the times that you showed them. The connections looked like good metal, but were the black segments plastic? Maybe you should have showed them a bit more? Any impressions about them when you had them in-hand and value for money compared to the many other tubes on the market? Needs more review.

Thank you for your comment. To answer your questions, the feel of these is a cheap feel since they are plastic and not metal bodies. They have done a great job for me so far for the price point. The only metal parts are the contact points to allow for communication from lens and camera body.
Overall I like them and they do the job especially at this price.

I am planning to shoot portraits with it`(50mm/85mm). Would be the 10mm enough?

These extension tubes are not meant for portraits of people. They are meant for very close up subjects like flowers, insects, products, etc. Do not buy them if you intend to use them for people shooting.

If you are using Canon, you can purchase Canon 50mm 1.8 STM lens. That's a budget lens, but the quality that you'll get will surprise you surely.
