Thanks so much for uploading this. Filmation cartoons were a big part of my childhood and as much as I regret not having a chance to shake Lou Scheimer's hand and thank him for everything, his work has had a huge impact in my character and life. And I'm even happier since I finally got my hands on a digital copy of "Creating the Filmation Generation". :D Wonderfully written, with many interesting anecdotes from Lou himself, and of course tons of pictures. Worth every cent. :D Thanks Andy (Mangels) and RIP Lou. Much Love.

Filmation shows are hard to watch today but I loved them growing up in 60s and 70s. They provided me with many hours, days and years of entertainment and for that I gotta give thanks to Lou Scheimer, Norm Prescott, Hal Sutherland may they all rest in peace.

My name is Tom Cook and I was lucky enough to work at Filmation as an Animator from 1980 until the doors closed in 1989. Lou Scheimer was the reason.... all of the animation was being shipped out of the country at all of the other animation studios and Lou insisted on having all of the shows at Filmation be done in the U.S.!!! Thanks, Lou
I will be appearing at the Power Con in 2013 so please come out... I would love to meet you!

I was also there during this event in 2013. I was lucky enough to get to talk with Lou briefly and snag some autographs later on. His daughter and I spoke for a while as well, and she was such a blast to talk with. When I first meet Lou back in 2007, I was a bit ecstatic and gushed to him on how he & the entire Filmation team helped inspire me.. He was a very humble and gracious man, loving, kind, and thanked me for my "fan-ship". I wish him and his family all the very best for the future.

I saw the sad news of Mr Scheimer's passing today. Just wanted to say that even though I've never had the pleasure of meeting him. His programs were a big part of my childhood and as an adult I have nothing but the greatest respect for the man. We may laugh now about those little lessons at the end of the he-man show, but those lessons meant a lot to a lot of kids back then. Those messages show the big heart and love he had for the kids he was entertaining. God bless you Lou and thank you.

Any given video on my channel clearly draws inspiration from the work Lou Scheimer did. While I never had the chance to meet him like many other He-Fans have, I am greatly saddened to hear of his passing. Scheimer's passion for animation and storytelling certainly had a hand in helping shape a generation and I'm grateful for his contribution to some of my fondest childhood memories. Thank you for He-Man, She-Ra, Bravestarr and so much more, Lou!
