Hmm, interesting idea. A video on differentiating the medical from the surgical abdomen would be interesting to prepare, and I've added it to the list. Thanks for the compliments! I only *wish* my medical school instructors had been like this. I started using doodles as a teaching aid for clinical clerks when I was a resident. I've kinda stuck with it ever since.

I'd say you have a great case to bring to your family doctor to advocate for the vaccine if payment is an issue. Otherwise, the option of just paying also exists.

I had shingles when I was 16. Not fun. I've always wondered if people who get the chicken pox vac can get shingles? I didn't get the vaccine as a kid so I'm curious if that would have prevented my shingles outbreak?

My siblings and several friends have all gotten shingles below the age of 50. Why do I have to wait until I'm 60 to get the shingles vaccine? I want it now! (BTW, I'm 49).
It might have. That's why the vaccine is now recommended for healthy adults aged 60+. Because the virus hides out in your ganglia, over time, your immunity to it fades, so you either need periodic re-exposure to the wild virus, or the vaccine. One strange paradox is, as more kids get the vaccine, there's less wild virus, so older adults get less exposure in the community and end up getting shingles more often.
