- Indy Eleven went to Georgia and pulled off the #CUPSET over Atlanta United, 2-1, in their quarterfinal matchup in the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
And this, MLS, is why the Open Cup matters. Way more than your Leagues Cup nonsense.
A non-MLS club in America beating MLS clubs is exactly why MLS wants to kill the open cup. They don’t want to grow the sport in the US, they want to control the sport and grow their league.
Indy Eleven is our last hope 🙏🏼
aye they went crazy i’m not gon lie
That own goal helped big time. Helped seal the win. Hope Indy makes it so their mayor can see that this is the team he should get behind. They have a stadium ready to be built. No guarantee MLS comes a calling with other markets above them waiting to get picked
That stadium site is on top of an old cemetery with who knows how many buried. It's not really ready to be built. That said, the political wrangling is tiresome.
@@_haimerej yeah all of a sudden it’s a problem when it wasn’t before when they had the ceremonial dig to break ground
At least make a sweetheart deal to get the Eleven into the MLS bid so we can keep the history alive.
@@bigjoeofthe707Probably because the construction group suddenly wanted more money?
@@bigjohnsbreakfastlog5819 oh they’ve tried and gotten passed up by bigger markets. I remember there was one time like 12 bids (Minnesota United was one of em along with a 2nd from Minnesota from the owner of the Vikings, Atlanta of course, the Las Vegas Lights, Charlotte Independence before Charlotte FC was ever thought of, the Rowdies, a Detroit bid, Cleveland, and I forgot who else)
Almada leaving is "the second tower getting hit" equivalent for Atlanta. The first tower was the 2018 superteam
that’s what i was just noticing bro
I’ll say it again: relegation
From a San Antonio fan I'm rooting for yall 11 let's go usl
As I fan of Indy Eleven since its inception I couldn’t be happier with this performance. Their plan to take advantage of Atlanta’s high wings worked brilliantly on the first goal. They’ve made a conscious decision to be the aggressors this year and it’s paying off.
I will unsubscribing from all of US Soccer Federation social media sites until you fire Gregg Berhalter and Matt Crocker the director of U.S. Soccer Federation.
Me too, but I will watch the video and comment for engagement
Why
Okay like they give a fuck about you
You feel better bro?
Christian Pulisic is the only reason why anyone at US Soccer has kept their jobs this long.
Scored his own goal 🤣🤣
Open Cup > Leagues Cup. Do something about this nonsense U.S Soccer and make MLS play all of their teams in the Open Cup.
I am confused here.. So there's 2 different football federations in America? Never seen these teams in MLS and I would like to understand how this works. There's no people in the stands like when MLS teams play. I am not from America hence these questions.
Atlanta plays in the MLS. Indy plays in the USL. Basically the MLS is the first division and USL is the second division .the US CUP is a tournament where teams from different divisions play each other
@@RicardoGonzalez-ld9ll Oh this makes sense.. Thank you I was lost actually. So do USL teams gain promotion to MLS and MLS teams get relegated as well or it works differently?
@@Terrorvillathere's no pro/rel between MLS and USL here
Unfortunately @@Phoenixrisen85
@@Terrorvilla It's kind of the American FA Cup except the leagues don't have promotion and relegation.
Football
atlanta united is in the gutter right now
this is why we need a promotion / relegation system. FFS you have some rando ass local teams beating MLS teams
LOL. MLS teams are dominating this Open Cup. 8 entered in the Round of 32, 5 are in the quarters and at least 2 of them will be in the semi (likely 3, unless New Mexico stuns LAFC)
Indy Eleven a random ass team?
*breaks glass bottle*
Rando? Indy Eleven aren’t some little random local club. They’re a professional club in the 2nd tier who have put up a bid to go to MLS and are planning to build a 29K stadium but their mayor decided to screw them over.
MLS sucks
Definitely agree However I do support USA and Mexico but I support USL because my team San Antonio is in USL and my second team is club America which you probably know But don't worry when these MLS teams go to CCL they're gonna get their ass kicked anyway😂😂
Atmosphere sucks
Because America doesn't care about the open cup, MLS games are pretty cool tho
