This is one of the best series I’ve read in a really long time. I can’t remember the last time I gasped out loud, cheered out loud, and wanted to throw my kindle across the room when reading a book. Brown is SO GOOD at making you care so deeply for these characters. I can’t wait to start Iron Gold this month.
I am hopping from series to series because I just can’t pick a single one, so this has been a great refresh of what all happened in Red Rising before I start Golden Son. It brought back all the big moments and now I’m ready to take on Golden Son. Thank you! Great content as always
i read the first 3 books and forgot most of it since it took so long for the next one to come. Re-reading them now (on page 124 of second book) and I remember why I couldn't put them down 😂 If you haven't started the series yet - stop waiting and do it 💯
I feel like you like this series already more than you think you do 😉i love writing stories but I feel like it's been a bit difficult to find some fiction that resonates with me but this series so far seems really interesting so I might check it out! thanks!
I've finished morning star, currently taking a break because the series is so intense that i am afraid it will (probably will) recieve the red wedding treatment, nice video, i've read all the first trilogy because of your recomendation!
I am not big on Fiction. I spend most of my time reading and listening to historic non-fiction, poly-sci books. But Pierce Brown, hands down, has the vocabulary, cadence and style to keep my attention. And if you are lucky enough to have not started yet, try the audio books. Tim Gerard Reynolds' narration is a masterclass. This series is so full of introspection and self-discovery. Yes there is chaos, yes there is violence, and love. But the emotional growth of the characters, especially Darrow, is immaculate.
The first 3 books in this series are an absolutely brilliant blend of what I'd consider Scifi and high fantasy. Never has a series been so enjoyable to read that it left me both excited and exhausted at the end that I had to shelf the series until further notice. I am just not emotionally ready to dive back in at this stage in my reading tastes.
I'm always tempted to judge the storyline. Or argue the direction of the character arcs. I was truly on a journey for this series l. No complaints. It was a beautiful ride. Great series.the forerunner trilogy is my favorite but this has trumped it. 😢
Thanks for the recap, I was hoping for a review from you tho. I just finished reading this book, as you say it's a very good sci/fi dystopian story and I'll keep reading this series, but it is a bit tone-deaf when dealing with teenagers raping each others however, probably why this is not being picked up to be filmed... thoughts? (if any).
I wanted to like this series but darrow has so much plot armor and him being better than life long centuries old golds at everything with little training is immersion breaking
@@-tony9947 I don't think anybody is a fan of this book. It's a very derivative plot drawing from several source like Harry Potter, Song of Ice and Fire and Hunger games.

So glad you loved it! Happy reading!
Love this series. It's great to have a reminder where Darrow's story began before reading Light Bringer.
Thank you for this! I went a few months and several books between RR and Gold Son. The refreshers helped me get back into the series easily
No mention of Pax?? That’s a shame.
Especially since he is referenced so much in the later books.

Literally the most helpful video I’ve watched in years I forgot sm
I really need to carry on with this series going to save this to watch before I pick up book 2 😊
I just finished this one last Sunday. Finished it in 2 days. Once I finish Yumi, I'm moving on to Golden Sun.
I love it. I’m finishing the 3rd book

I haven’t listened to the narration you’re talking about, but the version that Graphic Audio put out is also stellar!

Always here for some more Red Rising content
the pack hunting moment after pax dies is my favourite in the book
I really liked this book. Up until the end
Ditto. Still give 4.5 out of 5, but the pacing was not good. It felt very rushed.
I love your positive attitude.
Deffinitley do book 2
I’m about to read the third one and wish you would do. Recap of golden son :( this is exactly the recap I needed lol
One of my favorite series of all time. Golden Son is a masterpiece, a totally other level compared to Red Rising.
You should do one for the next book!

Just got my review up for Light Bringer and I can't wait for you to move forward in this series. You are soooo gonna love it!
Pls do one for golden son too!
I just finished book 2 and I wish I watched this before reading it instead of some wikipedia summary 😂

Are you reading golden son yet?

Golden son is the best book of the first 2 in my opinion. Definitely do a video on that one too if you’re able.
It was Julian Au Bellona, not Au Barca
Great summary
I liked this video and the summary of yours.
just a little critique, you use the word however alot. when i noticed it, it was a little of putting.
I'm sure this person is being paid by the publishers to promote this substandard book.
Not a fan?

This book series is dope
But there are no sprayed edges so 0/10 ⭐️
Julian aw ballona 😅🫡
Almost 15 minutes long and I feel like you left so much out.
04:00 you mean Julian au Bellona?
