  • The Cleveland Browns have restructured quarterback Deshaun Watson's contract, a league source told ESPN's Field Yates, in a move that creates $35.832 million in salary cap space.
Cleveland converted $44.79 million of Watson's $46 million 2024 base salary into a signing bonus, the source told Yates. The move gives the Browns more than $62 million in cap space, the most in the NFL.
The Browns are expected to roll over the majority of the cap space to have financial flexibility in the 2025 offseason, when they are already projected to be $44 million over the cap, according to ESPN's Roster Management System. Wide receivers Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore, running back Nick Chubb and left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. are among Cleveland's free agents next offseason.

The contract and trade for Watson will go down as one of if not the worst trade in NFL history. It handicapped the Browns and helped build the current Texans team who some have as one of the 5 best teams in the NFL.
Watson isn’t going anywhere until after the 2026 season. His dead cap hits in 2025 and 2026 are $172 million and $99 million respectively per ESPN.

You can't throw those outs to Cooper unless you're reading a defense... Most atarting QB's can't make that throw consistently... Watson is the same as he was in Houston... Only difference is he don't have that Will Fuller speed to take the top off of the defense... He's efficient... He turn broken plays into plays, he can run for a first down, He controls the offense keeping the defense fresh to go all out 4th quarter... If he can get a field goal out of the drive, it's a success.. 3pts adds up better than a turnover on downs or a pick & or pick 6...💯💯💯

It seemed at times and it lingers today that a Black QB must work twice as hard as a White QB just prove he belongs! Fast forward to today we know that the NON -WHITE (Blacks , Latinos, or Other) leader's belong! After many years of success by Non-White athlete's they we're finally accepted and appreciated. What would the NFL, NBA, MLB be without non- WHITE players? Yet when a DSW gets paid well it seems a backlash STILL EXISTS for no other reason than I don't like this Dude! He's a privileged rich Nig!
