I have been in awe of what can be done in 3D Coat but struggled to nail it despite watching many videos and so needing to resort to my usual, less competent software. But just 5 minutes in I and can say this is the best explanation of the processes by far. Thank you very much, very well done.
Blender is awesome but 3d coat has much to offer. I have yet to experiment with 3d Coat but by the looks of it, it has some amazing tools. I am also learning and can't help but admire the work the team went through to put this together.
A really exemplary tutorial. Well paced, well explained, consider yourself an excellent tutor. Look forward to finding more from you even paid courses.
Hey Robert! Amazing tutorial you have it here and I can not thank you enough how helpful it is. I am wondering if you could release a comprehensive introduction to 3D Coat at Artstation, Udemy or Skill Share, I will be very interested in buying it. I think you are one of the best 3D Coat tutors on youtube. Thanks again and good luck!
@@marklavania3680 wow thanks for a feedback 😃 glad you enjoyed the tutorial. I’d love to continue making more content. Difficult to find time to create these tutorials. Hopefully more to come in the new year! All the best 😃
Love your videos… the part where you remove the watermark is so funny. Thank you for sharing all the details and switching program to teach us really appreciate it 🙏. More videos on 3d coat pleaseeeee ❤️
Very nicely explained, thanks for taking the time to make this mate. I appreciate it. Can you tell me whether 3d coat would be useful for lower poly work?
Thanks for the great tutorial! I'm a few days into my free trial for 3D Coat, but I think I'm already sold on it. Something about the worklflow just clicks with me, while other programs I've tried make it quite hard to sculpt and texture my own assets.
how did you get that dark trail effect when you were removing the watermark in photoshop? It looks like its easier to see where you are moving. Great video
Hi, I'm trying to follow this in the newest version of 3dcoat. Everything up to about 6:00 works, when I have to use the pose tool, the circle selection will not work. I can use all of the other selection types, including the rectangle and lasso types, as well as inverting the selection to select the whole mesh. However, specifically the circle and ellipse selections do not work. I installed a fresh copy of 3dcoat and changed nothing about it and I don't see anything on the internet about this so I'm super confused.
Hi Robert, I would kindly ask you why in my case, the only problem is the export of textures, because when I click on "export Objects & Textures" unfortunately I don't see the same window that appears to you (37:33). but it just asks me where to save the obj. Is it related to it being the trial version?
For anyone who finds it infuriatingly difficult to flip the thing over when you get to around 6:05 - the trick is to press the ALT key then you can use the LMB as normal. Otherwise you may be stuck with being able to move and zoom the object but totally unable to rotate or flip it.
I know this is a late comment but is there a way to move the texture around? Its extremely infuriating when I want to use a certain part of a texture I created to be on a certain place.
There is an crossed arrow, a rotate and a scale tool when you select your texture. Hold left click over those icons and you’ll be able to move the texture :)
Good tutorial. I have been playing with 3d coat and there are a load of things that are not immediately obvious. Layer management, well, maybe I am thick, but some things seem to work only when they want to. And does anyone know of a way you can autopo or decimate on all objects in the scene simultaneously?. Somebody made a tut on merging all objects to a new merged low density model but that merge function did not really work for me. Trying to decide between z brush and 3d coat and everyone says z brush is a nightmare to learn, but there is at least many tuts out there, mot so much on coat, so could you do a tut on every single function for me please? lol.
Well that sucks,.. Great tutorial BTW,. I posted earlyer. Quote "I'm guessing to creat an arch with a large-is bevel on the top fron edge I'd use a torus with 4 or mybe 6 sides to get the angle over the full arc of the arch. I have to work out how to say what would be shown in an image had YT not deleted my post because of a dropbx link in it. I wanted to try making something like the UE4 asset "The Ancient Temple" that on the UE4 marketplace. YT deleted the marketplace link It's the back wall I'm after making to make an entrance way through a door in under the beast. The step I get, it's the angled arch thats go me
Killer tutorial. Just a heads up though, "axes" is the plural of "axis." When you're speaking about the X, Y or Z axis singularly, you would say "axis" not "axes."
Finally some good tutors for 3DC

I agree! Robert is producing superb 3DC tutorials. Much appreciated and hope there's more to come.

Very clear, no music, good stuff.
Thanks for this tutorial. Helped me get a good idea how to start off creating my own assets in 3DC.
Best arch tutorial in 3dCoat on youtube! Thanks a lot, you made my day :)

Hello. I have a question. Why in my case the option "More on Concave" doesn't wok? I follow every step, but nothing happens in my model. Thanks.
Jesus...that looks real.

I will watch this video as I want to make an "Ancient" environment. But I was wondering, is it possible to import the meshes/object in Blender ?
Sorry, I've just seen that you answered the question at about 34:00 of the video (-_-')
Great tip..
How to find microsoft stream?
да пожалуйста скажите сколько полигонов какая развертка uv и как внедрять модель в геймдев или на стоки
thx

Good to know :D thanks
nomad
this is more powerfull than Zbrush i think
Why not take advantage of the sale and upgrade your coat license
I definitely should 😃
I have used 3d coat for texturing, but never for modelling
Hello, is this software? Is it a good blender program software for sculpture?
