Starting in row 22, is the Tropicana Orange. It had a provisional, but a very slow qualifying lap due to hitting the wall multiple times!

Juan Pablo Montoya's car breaking and taking out the jet dryer. That was a weird one.

Also when you watch it now you can see how much NASCAR TV coverage has changed. When it happened there was no video actually showing Montoya hitting the truck. Today they'd have 4 different angles on it.
@@laurenmp7486 All the cameras and production has driven up the cost of airing the races, hence we get five minutes of racing and seven-eight minutes of advertising now. I grew up watching races on TNN. They had a lot fewer cameras and very little human interest stuff, but the broadcasts were more enjoyable, though nostalgia might color my lenses a little.
7:13 I do recall some news article a few years later after that, said the vehicle owner got busted for insurance fraud regarding it. Some sleazeball hotshot lawyer or something, thought he could get away with it

@@MMCS07 yea, some huckster scam artist. Pretty sure the article included that he got busted for another scam of insurance fraud too
I'd like to mention, the truck race at IRP where they knocked out the light, the same thing happened the very next night in the Busch race if I remember correctly. Those IRP truck and Busch races were always awesome!

1986 Winston 500 at Talladega a fan stole the pacecar and took a lap before he got caught.

Another excellent video. Some were definitely weird, some a little bit scary in retrospect, and others just plain funny (that hauler getting stuck had me laughing). And yes, that move by Truex was extremely dorky lol- and he knew it.
In explanations of the two cars that burned in the parking lot, you would be correct. The barbecue grill had one of those little portable tanks with it and it had developed a leak, thus causing the fire.

There was the incident at, IIRC Dover, when a large slab of the entry to pitlane came up as they were using the jet dryers to dry off the track from a pre-race rain shower. 2007 maybe? As I recall, they marked the damaged area with cones, & the drivers just had to go around it.
