Also when you watch it now you can see how much NASCAR TV coverage has changed. When it happened there was no video actually showing Montoya hitting the truck. Today they'd have 4 different angles on it.
@@laurenmp7486 All the cameras and production has driven up the cost of airing the races, hence we get five minutes of racing and seven-eight minutes of advertising now. I grew up watching races on TNN. They had a lot fewer cameras and very little human interest stuff, but the broadcasts were more enjoyable, though nostalgia might color my lenses a little.
I'd like to mention, the truck race at IRP where they knocked out the light, the same thing happened the very next night in the Busch race if I remember correctly. Those IRP truck and Busch races were always awesome!
7:13 I do recall some news article a few years later after that, said the vehicle owner got busted for insurance fraud regarding it. Some sleazeball hotshot lawyer or something, thought he could get away with it
Another excellent video. Some were definitely weird, some a little bit scary in retrospect, and others just plain funny (that hauler getting stuck had me laughing). And yes, that move by Truex was extremely dorky lol- and he knew it. In explanations of the two cars that burned in the parking lot, you would be correct. The barbecue grill had one of those little portable tanks with it and it had developed a leak, thus causing the fire.
There was the incident at, IIRC Dover, when a large slab of the entry to pitlane came up as they were using the jet dryers to dry off the track from a pre-race rain shower. 2007 maybe? As I recall, they marked the damaged area with cones, & the drivers just had to go around it.
man every time i hesr riverside park mentioned i get a little sad, we only have one oval in mass now and im not sure how much longer seekonk speedway has left
During the 2003 British Grand Prix, Neil Horan, a defrocked Catholic priest who believes that we are in the end times, ran across the Hangar Straight dressed in an orange kilt while carrying a sign that read “Read the Bible. The Bible is always right” while the race cars were going through at full speed.
Starting in row 22, is the Tropicana Orange. It had a provisional, but a very slow qualifying lap due to hitting the wall multiple times!
Lol
Lets be honest, he hit the wall multiple times but he had help to do it
Juan Pablo Montoya's car breaking and taking out the jet dryer. That was a weird one.
Yes it was!
And he was along for the ride

Wow
Yes they were, so much better than anything ever run at Indy itself. I wish they’d go back!! Could you imagine Cup on IRP?
1986 Winston 500 at Talladega a fan stole the pacecar and took a lap before he got caught.
I remember seeing footage of that. Where u there to see it?
@@MMCS07 No however I did see the race on TV
Yup! And it took something like 8 police cars to stop him lol

@@MMCS07 yea, some huckster scam artist. Pretty sure the article included that he got busted for another scam of insurance fraud too
The Tropicana balloon has more talent than 50% of the Cup drivers.
Ain't no way bruh
Lol
Thanks for the upload keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
First clip reminds me of a Disney movie. "Race cars don't need headlights because the track is always lit."

Chicagoland got juiced up 😂

Funny thing about the St. Amant incident, the very next night Chris Diamond did exactly what St. Amant did
Wow!

Lol
i thought the dover incident where the concrete came up and jamie mcmurray got wrecked was very odd
Yes it was
Wasn’t that the same race where Jeff Gordon got nose damage from a piece of concrete?
@@saragrant9749no that was Martinsville, he got hosed, he was dominating that race.
@@saragrant9749I mean they did show it in this video
@@brandonenglund7516 oh yes, I’d forgotten that. He definitely did get screwed.

Lol
0:52 & 7:36 AND IT'S LIGHTS OUT AND AWAY WE GO

I was at Chicagoland when the giant orange rolled onto the track.
I bet that was a site to see
I don't think the incident with the hauler and the tunnel should've caused a caution...
