This would look just sick if they "were" to do a 40th anniversary vintage box set with matching updated graphics. Man that would give me so many good old christmas feels.
Got Scrapper and Bonecrusher preordered earlier, I’ll be preordering the Hook and Long Haul 2 pack as soon as it’s available to preorder and so far Devastator looks amazing
Also, it helps out storing construction equipment while on the move if you look at it at a logistics standpoint also it could be worse. We could’ve ended up with another brick like the combiner wars figure so let’s all cool even and consider ourselves unlucky.
They already tried to do the incorporate combiner parts into the figure. Combiner Wars would like to say hello. At least they did something with the combiner parts versus just having the parts laying around.
I feel like they mucked up with the trailer, they should've made it a flat bed that could hold Bonecrusher or Scavenger. or make it connect all 6 in vehicle mode to form a land train.
I think the way it's broken down, is that Long haul and Hook are built as voyager class figures. That puts them both at roughly 35 dollars each. So that's 70 dollars of the budget right there. Which would leave 20 dollars for the combiner parts. Now, the overall budget is probably less than that in all technicality, since they likely are able to share a lot of the mold sprues given the identical plastic colors. Which really makes it a damn shame they didn't include the trumpets, or even some drill hands with him. That said, it's not like the value isn't there in comparison to other commander figures. I think it's just a case of perceived value vs actual value. With Superion and menasor, their combiner parts form silly base mode turret things, and allow for a super mode, on top of a larger vehicle mode setup, whereas these two only get a trailer out of it. But unlike other commanders, the budget is split three ways now. Instead of one base figure, and then an additional trailer that does whatever it needs to, we have it split 3 ways for two base figures and a trailer that does what it needs to. So the value is there, it's just harder to perceive because the trailer does far less than the others due to less budget going towards it than normal.
I'm so disappointed, this is one step back. They already had the parts integrated and now they are add-ons again? At least they blend in with the alt mode which is definitely a step forward from having the parts just laying around but still, not great. I can accept Menasor's Motormaster and Bruticus Onslaught having add-ons to form the combiner as long as the main figure and the trailer aren't 90% of the figure. Superior gets announced and sure looks great but that's not a Combiner, now Devastator with add-ons? The combine forms seems more stable and good looking with plenty of articulation but combination gimmick wise? RID2001 and Energon at least tried
Disappointed big time. It's a CW upgrade, that's all. Devastator is great for what I can see but individual robots are just an upgrade or should I say a downgrade. They seem to focus more on Devastator and its stability, they didn't care much for the individual robots. Longhauls ugly as hell, Hook very mediocre. I said that I'll pass away the first 2 if the next ones were decent but that never happened. I'm out. So sad they did this with ss86 Devastator. I could pass out any other line but not ss86. Horrible. Everything good they've done til today has been messed up by this. I think My youtuber friend is saying the truth genuinely but others just get paid or will get a Devi for free to convince you to buy this although knowing that, at least the individual robots are crap. I get disappointed because we've seen that individual robots can keep their aspect without compromising Devi or vice versa, thanks to 3rd parties. I don't want to hear the same song....we have a limited budget...no way it's an excuse to have a huge profit. Not making new molds means making the most out of less. So they used the old molds and upgraded or as I see it downgraded others and that's it. I don't care about parts used to make him stable, that's understandable but not compromising individual robots accuracy.

I'm excited for this set! It's looking so good!

I never had the combiner wars one so I’m very happy with these one

To be honest, that’s a fair point but however consider expense time and money as well which is also put into designing this Toy a.k.a. figure
But the kingdom tracks figure that’s a shelf just ready to happen And also humble apologies if I miss type that name

on one had i get it about the trailer
on the other, tfc heracles did it 10 years ago

Just stop
They look so much better than before but how are these $90 even with the extra parts? That's nuts if that's all that comes with them.

Hasbro just can't do combiners.
