Awesome job. Admire your skill. So glad to see you recycling your clothes. Too many ppl are ignorant of where their "donated" clothes go. They dont go to the needy but rather to poor countries that dont want them to sit in big heaps as garbage and then end up in rivers and oceans. Thanks for recycling and helping to save the environment. Fabulous sewing. 😃
Very creative , amazing how you have managed these two new garments for a child out of a skirt , but I'm afraid I could not bring myself to do that , especially when that skirt was so pretty and autumnal right now with its gorgeous embroidery , only saying but thank you for sharing , I am all too well aware in this day and age and with the planet how it is we should all be making an effort to reuse and recycle and not living with so much throwaway fashion items , especially we should be all wearing more wool, cotton, silk , linen etc., as these fibres are biodegradeable , whilst , acrylic, polyester, fleeces etc., leach out micofibres every time they are washed which in turn goes into the drains , river systems and our oceans eventually to be eaten by the fish and tiny plankton , which in turn we as people eat and digest in our food , so there is a lesson in all of us to be a lot wiser in the future to help our planet from drowning in plastic caused by mankind during my lifetime , please do your bit to help !!
You are so correct. People are complaining that she "wasted" a skirt. They are wrong. There are many documentaries on RUclips on "Fast Fashion" on how esp how & other Americans buy CHEAP CLOTHES and wear it 3 times and then send it to countries that really dont want it, like in Africa. It becomes their garbage. Before this, African countries produced their own GORGEOUS dyes and garments. I watch alot of Nigerian Christian movies and I love seeing the woman wearing beautiful true African "made in Nigeria" cloths as they call it. It is so beautiful. I hate seeing them wearing shirts with our stupid logo's on it. They should be wearing t-shirts if they so choose with THEIR BUSINESSES with African logos on their shirts, be it Nigerian, Or whichever country in Africa they are representing. Why should they be sent and be wearing our throw away clothes? Africa is a truly rich continent full of natural resources. Sadly many countries on the continent are corrupt, unorganized & other nations go over there & pillage their countries & then ship their garage clothing! It makes me so angry. America used to produce good quality (and still does but only the well to do can afford to buy it) materials and garments. But fast fashion, the so-called in "style" today and not tomorrow fashions loses its color and isnt sewn on the bias - (ever notice your seams aren't straight in cheap clothes. So people give their clothes away to "help the needy" yet it doesnt go to the needy when ppl donate it. It is THROWN AWAY BY SENDING IT TO AFRICA OR OTHER CONTINENT'S. Like you said, birds and fish are eating it. Dyes are running into our water supply and ppl are complaining abt the "beautiful embroidery." I tell you the truth, that was done with a machine. As a sewer, crocheter and embroiderer...that is a cheap skirt. It probably was from Walmart. Seriously ppl...isnt it better for her to get some USE OUT OF IT OR IS IT BEST FOR IT TO GO INTO THE OCEAN NOW? I recommend you all watch the RUclips documentary on Fast fashion and where your clothing donations really go. Then I recommend ppl start buying classic well made clothing that doesnt go in and out of fashion constantly. One doesnt need so many clothes. All one needs is white, black and beige shoes & sandles, a pair of boots, and a pair of tennis shoes. A light jacket for spring, a rain jacket and a winter coat depending wear you live and no more than 6-8 summer tops and 6-8 winter tops and 1-3 dressy outfits. (Dress pants, tops/skirts/blouses, etc.) 3-4 pair of blue jeans. What else do you really need? Some workout stuff. Oh and p.j.'s. A few dresses and skirts perhaps. (Woman I'm referring to here) and undergarments. That is all I have. When I get something new, I give up something else I have. If it dont fit in my closet, then I have too much. Trust me, I dont have much. And I have all I need. Truly, I just told you approximately all the clothes I have. I have some other light cover up dress jackets. And tank tops to wear under things.. I'd like a few more dresses for church but other than this, I have more than enough. :) Pls think abt it, and dont be so quick to judge. I'm pretty sure she doesnt have a Walmart down the street. And even if she does, I give her respect for recycling what she has rather than "donating it to the fish" like Americans do because they dont know any better (or dont care) and she found and 2nd or 3rd use for her skirt. Dont fret...she is still enjoying her skirt w/her embroidery. And if it is her skirt, who in here can judge her no matter what she does with her skirt? And who among us turns our clothes we dont want anymore into something even more beautiful? I sometimes do, do you?
I Love the simplicity in your work. There qre no complications, no pins, no typical measurements. I wish it appears to be as easy as it seems for everyone. I am a pro tailor but i admire the way you reuse every bit and piece of fabric.
Amazing seamstress At first I had no idea What she was doing with that skirt, but very Cool! She made a skirt A a child's dress I think Lol very nice! Beautiful And No Pattern wow 😄
ANGELA SHARPE ...I would be fighting with it for weeks, and it took her probably 45 min. She is good with re-creation , I’ve tried and always come out with a mess and a lot of time spent making that mess.
Absolutely beautiful. That is an awesome DIY recycle idea from a beautiful skirt. If this were my project and not saying anything agaist your idea. That would be like a student critisizing the teacher. But my idea would have been instead of making an additional skirt from the remaining fabric I thought a nice cape or coat to match the dress would have been nice.
çok güzel oldu ellerinize sağlık👌🏻 geri dönüşüm projelerine bayılırım. modası geçmiş değil de giymediğinizi değerlendirme deseydiniz daha iyi olurmuş 🙂
Thanks for your comment, it's a explanation to me ! bc i don't know (Spanish?) and was wondering if the skirt n dress goes together for a set . Yes , she's so fast, smart n creative.
