Not really sold on this one. It's behaving like strip, rather than a tower. Like the scrolling up and down, is just a strip sequence.

The underlying software, BiblioPixel, allows any possible layout you like, and any addressing scheme you like.
The build-in layouts are circle/disk, cube, matrix, persistence-of-vision and strip (which is what is being used here), but it would only take a tiny amount of code to write a "barber pole" layout.
