It's more of a crime to kill animals all the time for food and clothes. Separate them from their families after forcing them to breed, stealing cow's milk and poaching animals as well as holding some in captivity so we can look at them in cages. I'd still say this is very mild on the animal abuse scale, and if you aren't vegan your support much worse deeds of the food industry. I'm from Jakarta, used to watch this street show from the late 80s when I was really tiny, and I love it! It's so nostalgic with the mirror-watching, the cart-pushing, the mask-wearing, the warrior, and it always ends with the python show. I hate monkeys (macaques)! there's a lot of them in the nearby forests (back then there are a lot of forest even in Jakarta). we learn that monkey needs to be shown who's boss, to stop them from stealing your stuffs (in monkey society, if you're kind to them, you are considered to be inferior to them and they will start acting as if you're their servant, the same case happen in Bali where since the tourists give them food freely, the monkeys start acting "rude" toward tourists, stealing wallets, kicking for food, aggressive and all). We were taught to show dominance to monkeys especially if a pack of them live close to your resident, so they would stop stealing your stuffs. I never see monkey vendors anymore today, living in Jakarta, it's a remnant of the past time, collective memory of my childhood. I don't know if it's abuse, as back then you hunt monkeys as they can be pests at times stealing your garden produce or dismantling your roof, and from what I know this show is for the poor to enjoy. The act of "politically correct" is unknown to rural society, it's almost like telling people to not use coal, whereas society in developed countries had benefit from coal use in the first place, something like that (off topic a bit, I know). So insights about this show needs to be conveyed sensitively IMO, understanding the society first and providing solution, instead of just berating that this is negative and that is positive. That's my opinion.

I see Athletes going through physical and mental abuse for a little piece of metal to wear around their neck or a trophy to sit on a shelf. We criticize them when they fail. We see their injuries and tell them to ignore the pain. Play through it. Ban sports and all forms of entertainment. I was at the furry convention here in Atlanta (Furry Weekend Atlanta/FWA) and I was having a LOT of fun. I am a minor, so I was restricted a little, but the panels were cool! I go to sleep at around 12 am. Now, before I continue, I must say I have a all white fursuit. My fursuit is white with blue eyes. It gets stained very easily. Even 5 min in I had dirt on me. I washed it (ofc). So I go to sleep, when I hear the door open. I think, "Eh, probably one of my friends," and go back to sleep. when I wake up, I see my fursuit is burning. Someone BURNT MY FURSUIT! I couldn't save it in time, and my fursuit ended up burning away. thousands of dollars GONE! I was miserable. Someone saw this and said, "What happened?" I told them and they said, "Oh wow. That really does suck." I ended up staying awake that whole night and trying seeing who the culprit was. He didn't come that night, and luckily none of my friends suits got destroyed but still.
