The interviewer seemed like she didn’t really know what to expect with the instrument, but after George played afew notes you can see she was genuinely blown away.
I fall in love pretty easily with new stringed instruments, this one looks like it could be a long term thing.
GildedEntries us too!!
Beautiful Bouzouki, nice playing George! "Spaseta ola!!.
Kirk k his playing was beautiful! Really did take you to Greece!
@@CAHouseMusic It's tuned like a Guitar in D Standard. There are 12 String 6 Course Bouzoukis which could be like super cool bowl shaped 12 String Guitars.
Wow. Absolutely gorgeous.
Pyramyd Seven thanks for watching! Glad you liked it!
Unique!!!
There are also 5 & 6 course versions (adding on Low G & Low D) which should be available more often cause they're cool.
I think having a High A in the 2nd pair of strings would broaden the range. You'd need a really special terminator tailpiece so you can use Ball end strings.
Cool looking instruments
Mel Jones they really were! We were so glad we could do a video of them!
@@CAHouseMusic It's tuned like the top 4 strings of the Guitar down a step.
Giassou giorgios..best ever ..agori...
Bravo orea love the bouzoki
This is the best sound in buzuki .I cannot believe you put it on the plane and exposed ...Maybe it is usual for your factory to make AAA sounds ...
🇬🇷❤️🇬🇷❤️🇬🇷❤️
Πολυ ωραιο
Μπράβο Γιώργο!
Really good thanks
Yaaaammmas! ♥️
They should have 5 & 6 Course Bouzoukis someday.
Trichorda bouzoukia where the original.
bello 👍
Where did this take place?
I wonder which model this is on the bouzouki from Matsikas? Can anyone help me?
α ρε Γιωργη Ελλαδαρα. Σημερα ημουν μαγαζι σου Καλλιθεα, θα τσιμπησω τριχορδο ή τετραχορδο, απλα ακομη δεν μοορω να αποφασισω....
0:27 It's tuned Similar to a Guitar only a whole step down.
I reckon he had a few bottles of ouzo before showing up to the festival.
Well, he’s technically right, but left out some details. It’s tuned CFDA with octave strings on the bottom 2 courses and unison strings on the top 2. So it’s tuned one whole step down from the top 4 courses of a 12 string guitar. If you use chord shapes like D that use 4 strings, they will work but be one step down.
@@adamciullo8655 Are there any other tunings u can use for a 4 course bouzouki or just 1
@@sleekismboyz605 I'm sure there are, but that's the traditional one. I don't know a lot about Bouzouki alternate tunings. You could use the Irish Bouzouki tuning, though normally people who use that tuning use an "Irish Bouzouki," which is a flatback, and play different music. I don't think you would see that tuning a lot among Greek players, but it did start with players using traditional Bouzouki's and retuning them. They use unison strings instead of octaves and tune to GDAD, which is octave mandolin tuning (GDAE) with the E courses dropped to D. You could conceptually use GDAE as well if you are more familiar with mandolin. There are also 3 course bouzouki's in Greece which are tuned DAD, so the Irish tuning is similar to that with an added low string.
@@adamciullo8655 I'm going to use GDAD for tuning it, to emulate the old style bouzouki with 3 courses even though i have a 4. Since I have a custom made, microtonal fretted bouzouki.
