Thank you for watching my video:) This altered card is the first one I made. To make the interior of the cave, I remember my eyes had a hard time painting with dark paint on top of dark paint*o* I'll keep on trying to make more better altered cards from now on ;)
Thank you for your comment! And sorry for replying late. Really? That makes me so happy! It has been a long time since I uploaded this video, however I'm so glad that many people still watch it :) Enjoy making altered cards from now on, you too! ;)
Amazing. I like that you showed us your process. I have a question: do you plan out the (semi) final design before you start or do you just do as you go?
Hi, Thank you for your question! At this time, at the stage of drawing with a pencil, I feel like I was drawing while imagining what kind of landscape is spreading outside the screen of this picture. I was making the final design in my head while drawing. However, (and recently), in the case of composing many elements on the screen, such as the "Squee, Goblin Nabob of Ultimate Masters", I often start to alter cards after making a rough final design with digital. I also want to show everyone those materials someday ;)
This card has a slightly thicker layer of paint. So, I feel this card is a bit thicker than the other cards when I shuffle deck. When shuffling with the card in the sleeve, the paint on the surface of the card is not particularly peeled.
The blue pen is not specialist pen. I think it's for use by children and It is popular nylon brush. It's that can be bought for about 2 dollars in my country:)
Thank you for your question! :) In this card, I added a little white and black to the basic colors of the elements painted in the picture of this card, such as red and blue and so on, to make colors used for the bright part and ones used for the dark part. I had few paints, so I mixed the colors and made multiple paints from the basic colors and use them. However, I’m not good at making colors. So, recently, I prepare tubes of the same color that are slightly different shades from each other, I selected similar colors to the picture of the card from them and use. I hope this answers your question🌟
Great work. If you do future vids please leave some time at the end to pan the completed piece for us to view. It's hard to appreciate your efforts and skill during the painting process. Beautiful work. One of these days I want to do my own set.
Hi! What sort of primer did you apply at the beginning of the video? I just got into alters and I've been using acrylic and tempra-- but I'd love to start using inks.
Is the white thing you say the white square thing shown from 3 minutes 14 seconds of this video? This is a sponge. In my country, it is called Melamine Sponge, and it's often used for cleaning around the kitchen. I used this as a tool for varnishing. I dipped a small amount of acrylic varnish into the sponge and varnished it to the matte part of the card in the middle of making the altered card. By doing this, I matched the gloss of the card illustration and the gloss of the part I painted with acrylic and I tried to make it easier to paint. If you want to know more details, you may know more by looking up about how to paint classic pictures or painting restoration. Have fun to alter! ;)
Thank you for your opinion. I felt that my video was too fast:) There is no original data of this video (Island of Amonkhet), but I'll consider the speed of the video uploaded in the future.
Oh, sorry! And Thank you for your reply. I think It get better good by you painting the highlight outline clearly. And I think it's a good idea to paint it thinly. If you put plenty of paint at once, it becomes difficult to paint later.
Omg, how can i buy proxies from you I want that island so bad. You can't just show me the most beautiful full art island I've ever seen and say i can only look at it.
Thank you so much for your love of altered card I made ;) I would like to respond to everyone's opinions as possible as me however I don't sell at this time. Sorry... Perhaps, I think the best way to solve it is to that Wizards' fan policy will be changed...😭
Oh, Yes. I used a toothpick! I think that damage to the card is small using this tool. If the paint is thick, shaved a part will be dented somewhat. ;)

I know this comment is from a year ago but turning drawings/paintings while working on them is actually pretty common among artists! It may not look it, but it makes it a lot easier to actually paint a certain part and spot any flaws and paint the details more correctly. I find that turning my pieces often helps my proportions end up a lot better and puts my arm in the perfect position to correctly draw/paint whatever I’m trying to. I didn’t get dizzy from it personally.
You are amazing! I love that you kept the name of the original artist!
Thank you!!
I hope that your favorite artists are found on this channel:)
From music, to choice of card, to end result.. Masterpiece.
I'm so happy. Thanks!! ;)

This tape is “Masking tape”. This tape is often used when using paint :)
The 7 dislikes are from people who are probably pissed at the altered art. I’m gonna give this a try at home. Looks dope af

How does shuffling effect your Alters?
This card has a slightly thicker layer of paint.
So, I feel this card is a bit thicker than the other cards when I shuffle deck.
When shuffling with the card in the sleeve, the paint on the surface of the card is not particularly peeled.
@Tricera Trampoline do you take commissions?
What is tjat highlight blue pen? Is it a specialist pen?
The blue pen is not specialist pen. I think it's for use by children and It is popular nylon brush. It's that can be bought for about 2 dollars in my country:)
How do you got this perfect matching colours?

0:30 what is this pen you drawing the contures with? Is it just a normal pencil?
It is leadholder. This pen is often used for drafting drawing:)
Great work.

What's the white thing you used to wipe the card?

@@TriceraTrampoline ahhh thank you!❤️
Could you do a slow tutorial on how to alter?
Thank you for your opinion. I felt that my video was too fast:) There is no original data of this video (Island of Amonkhet), but I'll consider the speed of the video uploaded in the future.
what kinda paint do u use?? brand? type?
nice
Pretty nice skills back then.
How are you doin' now in 2018 ;) ?
I will do as much as I can this year too.
I would like to further improve painting skills.:)
My cards are deformed when painting them, how do you do so that does not happen?
I do not deform often because I want to respect mtg artist’s unique worldview.
If there is a good card, I may do so :)
When I say that they deform is when it comes to painting, I want to prevent them from becoming distorted, even so thanks for answering.
Oh, sorry! And Thank you for your reply.
I think It get better good by you painting the highlight outline clearly.

Okay, thanks!!
Is this for sale? If so how much would it cost?
I’m not going to sell this.
But I’m glad to hear that!!
Thank you ;)
Omg, how can i buy proxies from you I want that island so bad. You can't just show me the most beautiful full art island I've ever seen and say i can only look at it.
Is this altered art island for sale?
I'm sorry, I don't sell them😣
How could one convice you to sell enough of these for a commander deck...
Thank you so much for your love of altered card I made ;)
I would like to respond to everyone's opinions as possible as me however I don't sell at this time. Sorry...
Perhaps, I think the best way to solve it is to that Wizards' fan policy will be changed...😭
This looks incredible. What did you use to erase the paint over the artist's name? A toothpick?
Oh, Yes. I used a toothpick!
I think that damage to the card is small using this tool.
If the paint is thick, shaved a part will be dented somewhat. ;)
Damaging the card is what I was afraid of, but I'm glad to hear that's not the case. By the way, do you apply a varnish to the finished piece?
Yes, I do!
I use two kinds vanishes - matte and gloss for watercolors.
They can also be used to match the gloss of paint and card printing.
If solvent for oil painting is contained in the varnish, acrylic paint on card will peel off! :_(
I have used English and Japanese cards.

try to not "spinning" the card so much because when you make the footage faster it can actually make the viewer dizzy.
excellent paint work :)
Geo Kuromi I totally got motion sick! 🤢
Oh, sorry! I'll be careful from now.(>
