Qatar Airways released new credit cards!
FYI: The Strata can be upgraded to the PRESTIGE by calling the number on the back of Strata to determine eligibility. (according to Citi's website)
I think the real news will be that this rebrand sets it up nicely for when they introduce their elite card offering later. Hopefully it'll be a good competitor landing between a venture x and amex platinum maybe? 🤔
Got approved for the Sapphire Preferred with 85K bonus point offer. I applied from my local branch and got instant approval today.
Congratulations!! What was your data point 5/24?
@@callmeNeno This was the fifth one. It was 4/24. I got the Freedom Unlimited 6 months ago. Back then, it was also the fifth one in 24 months. Did not get any other card in between.
Thing i like about bilt is they are trying new things and really more relevant than most other standalone card companies!
Doesnt the strata come with travel protection now?
My recent application (May 4th) to Citi Premier was not approved . However, I was told to wait for a communication from citi between 7-10 business days. I am keeping my fingers crossed to see if they would rather offer me a Stratapreimier instead of old card.
O.o ? That’s not how this works.
Not approved means they will tell you in 7-10 days why they denied you. If you want a chance in getting approved, call the reconsideration line and ask what you can do to make them change the denial into an approval.
Adding EV charging multiplier is a smart move. I was planning to get the premier this fall and planning to get a Tesla soon as well. Works out nicely.
I wonder if it will have travel protections like the Sapphire Preferred? If not, there is no point in using this card for travel purchases over a card that includes those protections.
Perfect. I’ll be applying on the 16th.
THANK YOU! I was quiet applying for new credit cards for a year, but peaked interest with the Sapphire. I wanted a 3x back on Non-Amex purchases, but decided I can’t meet the spend requirement cuz I’m working on another bonus.
BUT this video reminded me the bilt card exists, and I tried my luck. AND IT PAID OFF. All the credit learning, utilization, the hard credit pull finally led to a proper approval!
$2500 CL!! So excited to go to Europe now and use at non-Amex places
They could have at least made it a visa
I was hoping they would add back travel protections. Still not a real travel card without that.
Most in the community were predicting that Strata Premier would be a straight rebranding of Premier.. and that's exactly what it is... Good thing is, I was waiting for an increased SUB on the Premier, so I can finally get a nice SUB and get the Strata at the same time
I know AMEX doesn't allow gift card purchases to count towards sign up bonus (but Chase does). Does anybody have any data points showing Citi allowing gift card purchases to count towards sign up bonuses?
Junt?
I was wondering as well 😂😂
LMAO 🤣
Probably a typo
I wonder what else there will be for the new strata card. My main question is the category gas or gas stations. If they downgraded the card for only gas purchases, that sucks
Thanks for doing the hyatt vs Hilton points value calculation…
FYI June is misspelled at 0:51
Junt 😅😅
No way to change it now
Why transfer to Hilton? Answer: top up and award availability. Hyatt has stiffed me on award availability a few times.
If the Hilton location is better than the Hyatt, I am not staying miles away just to get a better redemption rate
I have the Premier. Wonder if I can get the bonus on this one? Something tells me not likely.
Based on this video I’d be very much surprised. It’s just a relaunch of the same card basically.
Others have found 48 month language in the Strata fine print, so if you aren't eligible for a Premier sub you won't get Strata sub
Citi needs to increase the multipliers to induce cardholders to endure terrible Citi customer service.
It has no travel insurance I think?
I wonder if Chase increased their sign up bonus on purpose in anticipation of Citi’s new card.
Great job on RUclips ❤
Ben do you think the day will come when you can pay your mortgage on a credit card like with the Bilt card . Paying your rent on Bilt credit card.
The Bilt boss said/hinted in an interview a while ago that they are basically looking into that.
I’d say chances are real to some degree.
If I already have the old Premier card, will they automatically send me the new Strata Premier card?
Yes
Is the Strata a metal card?
How long is the Citi Premier x10points on hotel deals good for?
its a permanent category now
@@TheCreditShifu Wow for if I spend $500.00 pn a hotel I get 5000 points and it's permanent?
Surprised nobody has talked about the new Qatar airways credit cards for The US
Soo, it’s May 11th and the Citi Premier is still alive. Guess the affiliate network hyped everyone up a few days early.
Thats true, although there really is a landing page for the strata, so I guess the timeline wasn’t quite right
Strata Premier is now live and Citi Premier links on google now redirect to the Strata Premier (as of May 12)
Nice 🥳 time to product change since I got the premier only last year.
Never mind.
Looks like I was automatically switched over to the Strata Premier.
👍
@@hector-1810 oh nice, thanks for the data point
I keep hearing that it's super hard to use the Hyatt points where Hilton you can use their points for pretty much anything they offer.
Chase raising their bonuses of the Sapphires to 75000 points shortly before the Strata Premier is released. It's almost like they might have had some insider knowledge what was coming from their competitor...
I’m sure they did
00:58Junt 8th 😆
I thought Citi Premier has foreign transaction fees, hence why I put it on the shelf.
The Citi website says "No Foreign Transaction Fees".
lol yeah no it’s a travel card.
No FX fees.

Less prolonged Bilt promos please and/or put in some time stamps so people can skip to why we watch your videos.
Thank you!
Shame on BILT. Amex is 1:2 Hilton. This redemption is rediculous and they should be ashamed. We lose their best redemption with AA and gain their worst. Hope this isn’t a trend.
I don’t agree. Atleast there’s continuity, it’s upto the redeemer to accept the value. Gives more reason for Amex point value over Bilt point value when comparing for Hilton redemptions, specifically.
Do you agree Bilt should stop adding travel partners and focus on only top value transfer partners OR add as many travel partners as possible? The transfer rate is 1:1, but it seems that HILTON values their points near 0.5 cents per point for redemption.
I agree that it’s a bummer that Bilt does not match Amex transfer rate; but for 5-10k points to top up to book travel isn’t terrible. Either that or pay cash to top off points for travel redemption.🤷♂️
@@verafiedairmanEven better you move your Hilton points to Virgin first and then to Hilton for a 50% bonus or a 1:1.5 ratio
@@royce1510 that’s useful, thanks. Personally, always preferred Hyatt. Have status and redeemed 200k+ points. Hearing about Hilton being devalued recently, but if I were to focus on their program I’d likely open and use the Amex cc even so.
If only every credit card issuer had all partners, then you’d really be able to get more value by only having to focus on multipliers to maximize transferring points.
It's a free card and they are trying to get profitable
I wouldn't be shocked if they lose Hyatt soon because they "have Hilton"
Hilton points really worth so less
Hilton points are now trash due to dynamic pricing. CANCELLING ALL MY HILTON CARDS.
☺
Why transfer to Hilton vs Hyatt? I’ll tell you, hyatts footprint sucks.
Lol, missed the point how many catds transfer at a higher rate
No I completely got the point. Just like any other hotel transfer vs Hyatt. My point is all the RUclipsrs push Hyatt because of the CPP value but they don’t go into depth about how little Hyatts footprint is. If you can’t book Hyatt because it’s not there, then the CPP is zero.
Its better to get Hilton points from the Hilton Credit cards and save transferrable points for better partners. Hilton Surpass card earns 3x on non-category spend and more on catelgories
Pretty disappointing news…
@@TheCreditShifu this I can get behind. But for the vast majority who are going to miss American Airlines and those who don’t want to manage an annual fee, the bilt card might be huge to help fund a vacation. I’m not saying this would be my default redemption, but versus the hassle of trying to find award bookings on flights, I’ll take an easy shot with Hilton any day. The YMMV asterisk is huge with this, but the points are only ever worth what you can actually use them for, everything else is 0cpp.
First!
