I was cracking up.. They were like you have a 2nd or 3rd cousin match and I saw who it was.. I was like I guess it really does work! All I discovered was the extent to which my ancestors were r-worded lol because I’m 30% European but we don’t have any white family. So it happened during slavery but that’s the case for virtually all African Americans. Some more mixed than others but we’re mostly all mixed if our ancestors came out of the transatlantic slave trade. My last name is Irish as well, as is much of my European DNA. I did my DNA in 2019 and was surprised at it. told my family about it and one of my brother and he had his done by people who went back centries. He called me and said that we are direct decendents of Ramses 111 also. i got this info about 5 or 6 months ago and we are still reeling about this.

It doesn't mean you are a direct descendant. It just means he was in the macrogroup E-M2 and ALL E-M2 people share a common ancestor from 40Kya. Every single E-M2 person gets the Ramses III thing. It means nothing in terms of direct descent though.

Her family ruled Egypt for about 300 years, after her ancestor Parmenion Philotas who was one of Alexander the Great's generals took over. After Alexander died his empire got split up and Egypt went to Parmenion and his family thus beginning the Ptolemaic dynasty. They were Greeks from Mycenea. This is why the capital of Egypt is a city called Alexandria. I found out approximately one month ago that I am a direct descendant of Ramses III as well. I was very shocked to see that on my DNA test report.
It's been more than 3,000 years since Ramses III, so it's possible that many people today are his direct descendants.
Additionally, Ramses II (AKA Ramses the Great) had a LOT of kids, so it's also possible that there are a lot of direct descendants from him, too.
