I love it that you can hear almost nothing of Tarja's accent on the album versions, but live, she just goes for the song, being herself. Just adds so much more personality, versus "trying my best for a perfect take".
Will never happen, Tarja burned Bridges with all of the Band and so did the whole Band untill today. Marco is the only one who she has spoken since then and they have a neutral Relationship today.
Do also the very original videos...when they are almost child. There are videos from year 1993 since...when they do practice with their music teacher Mr. Plamen Dimov being teenagers. By the way ... this concert is my all time fave. 125 dB(A) is a bang for many in the first row without ear plugs. By the way....Tarja was a childhood friend of Tuomas and until 2005 very close.
This is one of those songs that imo is just right for Tarja. While Floor does an amazing job with it, it just feels and sounds better in its original form
I will add Wishmaster, Sacrament of Wilderness,Gethsemane, Stargazers and Kinslayer to the List. These six Tarja Era Songs I didn't like sung by Floor. Ghost Love Score and Ever Dream are the only Tarja Era Songs I liked Floor way better than Tarja. Songs like Sleeping Sun or Slaying the Dreamer I would say its a even Match.
I love Tarja ❤. You just gained one more subscriber. Please react to "underneath", the studio version. It's from her solo career. This is one of the most beautiful Tarja Turunen's songs. I never saw anyone reacting to this. It is really a beautiful song, with a beautiful message.
tarja was always show lady, she go thats stage moving all the time and what she wearing is always like queen should dress. eye and ear candy early nightwish :)
One of their songs that just sounds better with the classical vocals, imo. Also I prefer the song in its original key here. One of my pet peeves about Decades was they lowered the keys of many of the old songs so that Emppu didn’t have to switch guitars. But it totally changes the timbre of many songs.
I guess all we love the old stuff of Nightwish .. thats clear .. And as we speak for other bands .. i want to say .. Kamelot :) I hope other guys will support me .. i realy want to see and hear what you think about them , @Jman :)
My fav version of this song. I like the new interpretation from Buenos Aires but I just prefer Tarja's vocals for this song. It would be interesting for them to do a concert now with Tarja as a guest for a few songs (the ones I like her in best haha!) I think the band and Tarja's voice have both matured an awful lot. Tarja and Floor are friends so there would be no problem there and Emppu would be in heaven I think as he seemed to have the most chemistry with Tarja on stage.
@Jim Keys the thing is for me it would be songs they don't do with Floor anyway so there is no conflict. I also don't see it ever happening There are still about 40-50 songs of Nightwish they haven't revisited and guess never will with Floor.
Yes, Tarja uses the skills of classical singing, but this is not opera, the opera vocals sounds different, it is a common misconception that Tarja sings only with an opera voice. This concert was recorded in 2000, today Tarja signs in a completely different way, she has become more universal. But still I recommend the End of an Era concert and it's really amazing🔥🔥🔥👍
Comparing a band and singer at the start of the careers to a band and singer that has over 20 years experience seems harsh and Tarja has had a long solo career that is just as successful as Nightwish so everybody wins
One thing which is clear to me when reading the comments of so many people in these Tarja videos - is how intimidated many are of her, and intimidated by her accomplishments - so much that they cannot find it in them to say how much they like Floor more without throwing shade at Tarja and talking as if they were vocal experts. Also - comparing this, from when the band members are super young to the modern days of the band is stupid because they have gathered more experience, and have matured.
@@onlythtruth2938 Also, Tuomas forced Tarja to sing songs she was not ready or comfortable in - which she is now, Stargazers and Passion and the Opera are perfect examples.
WHAT,they are crawling all over the place, here and in other jman clips to trash Tarja...pure jealousy..i suppose...if Floor would sing like this ..i would be happy as a lark..love you Tarja
@@FemaleMetalLover incredible...how can they call themselves decent men after that?..i remember seeing her interview for this concert, trying to look composed but every single noise seemed to set her off..i can only imagine how she felt in those cheap hotels being an only woman?...
Difference between Tarja and Floor to me is simple. Tarja acts more like a diva with a backing band - with Floor there is an organic chemistry and connection to both the song and interaction with the band. Floor with Nightwish have an energy a symbiosis that Tarja just doesn’t attain.
It's the style of singing though that makes this evident. As soon as Floor goes operatic she has to do the exact same thing as Tarja and correct her posture and sing to the mic, no more running around and dancing. That's the beauty of Floor choosing to belt and sing in a more metal way except for selected parts it means she has more freedom to move around the stage.
@@mnewm21 yeah, you cant really move a lot and engage much further than some hand movements when you're doing full on opera. Tarja was a bit more relaxed on End of an Era concert but still had to use mic stand a lot and have the right posture
@@mnewm21 Actually, Floor barely moves around the stage - she is almost always at the centre, but she does her signature headbang in the right moments and gets the crowd going in the right parts. Tarja is walking, jumping and dancing everywhere, and interacting with the fans. Tarja also takes more risks and moves around in demanding parts of the songs -especially if you watch recent videos. She is more relaxed and multi-tasker..
@@FemaleMetalLover yeah maybe, I just never felt like she was confident in her movement on stage it always seemed like she was twitchy and only got comfortable when she was singing. She is quite different now and to be fair if you see Floor in her early days she was quite the same she didn't have the presence she does now. Age does wonders for your stage presence
.she is a diva strictly in terms of her incredible vocal abilities and the absolute love and respect for her fans,..she always worked herself, literally to complete exhaustion ..just ask their manager at the time
Sorry but I have to strongly disagree with others in the comments, the Floor version from Buenos Aires is much better, not just her, but the band have matured, the addition of Troy & Kai, the new arrangements, just better on every level. I listened to many songs from the Tarja & Anette period, but I just cannot get into it, once I had heard the new Nightwish with Floor, to me there is no comparison. If you prefer Tarja or Anette, as this is art and by definition subjective, more power to you, but to me it is clear as day, that what we have since 2012 is far superior.
Have to agree. I am a big Nightwish fan from the start and I realy loved Tarja back in the days. Actually liked Anette too in some areas.... But now days I only listen to Tarja and Anettes versions when there is no Floor version.....Floor brings it all for me. Some belives she is to soft these days but I like it she got power when needed she can bring it all and also her english pronunciation is so much better than Tarjas. I know its an idiotic and pity thing to get a hangup on but it bothers me... :(
@@Honken55 Not idiotic, some accents can be charming, Tarjas is not. Not her fault, it is what it is and you feel what you feel. Agree with everything both of you said.
@@AlvenmodFoto Obviously Tarja's accent is charming enough, or her talent too irresistible - because you should explain then why she has a stable fan base - and have had it solo for 15 years, being the woman in metal that EVERYONE gets compared to, the one who inspired both Simone and Floor and countless others, the one who gets to headline festivals like Wacken and Woodstock - who could do that with all of these flaws that you and others are piling up in order to elevate Floor? I think this song needs to be done in the full operatic mode, as done here. This sounds great! Cheers!
Tarja just owns this song. How much I wish that they invited her to a concert and hear a duet with her and Floor. That would be just magnificent.
Sadly, Tuomas will never do that. But we have their duet on Tarjas concert for Over the hills, even tho the quality of that vid isnt as good sadly

good point.
I understand..in a very basic way, the difference between classical and operatic styles. Operatic rounds the vowels compared to classical.
It's weird. I think Tarja's voice is thick, not thin
