  • An aerator controls the flow of the water as it leaves the faucet, and adds air to the water.
Most people notice when an aerator needs to be replaced. The signs include the water stream is crooked and the water flow is reduced.
This is because of calcium and corrosion build up within the aerator. Now the question is how to change an aerator?

Question. I just replaced mine and I noticed the water pressure significantly changed. But I also noticed the previous aerator was in upside down

My Kohler kitchen faucet's aerator dropped out, cannot find a replacement for a recessed aerator, any suggestions ? Model K-R10430, Kohler sent me an aerator 1031237-/CP which has a medal housing, mine is the size of a dime with no metal housing. Order 16040940. Carol Southerland
