Thank you so much for posting this video! The previous owners soldered the spigot to the water supply pipe and me thinking I needed to change the spigot, I was in a corner because I don't know how to solder. Tightening the packing solved the problem and you saved me $ and stress.

Finally a video about a hose bib that looks like mine. The problem I have is that I cannot undo the top screw nor either of the lower nuts, they are all corroded on solid. All I might be able to undo is the nut holding on the entire hose bib. That is if liquid wrench will do its job.

Thank you so much!!! I replaced both washers, but I still had water squirting up out of the faucet, I will have to try tightening the hex bolt tomorrow when it is light out. I had a lot of trouble getting the bonnet off at first. The builder of the house had completely painted the entire faucet. I couldn't even see the right thing to turn because of the paint, and the hard water deposits. I had to scrape the paint off with an exacto knife all around the hex, and I finally got it off!

Came across this after fixing the exact same unit. Tips for anybody…center brass screw may be rotted….either drill out or hit with PB blaster and vice grips. Secondly, cup to retain the washer may crumble…perfectly fine to dremel flat and matchup washer OD…good to go!
