  • @JI-py3xf
    @JI-py3xf Год назад +3

In the past, there was a gate in western Seoul called Yeongeunmun,
which was used to welcome Chinese imperial envoys.
When a Chinese envoy arrived, the king of Joseon personally went to this gate and
greeted the envoy with a three-knees-and-nine-strikes salute.
The three-kneeling bow is the most respectful bow that a subject can make to the emperor,
and it is performed by the emperor's inner official (eunuch) who gives the command
in a high-pitched voice, "Kneel! and then, after each command, he would strike his head
against the ground and stand up with a "ki" (起)[1]. Then, again with "Kneel (hui)!"
and then they get down on their knees and perform the same action. This kneeling-like action is
repeated a total of three times.
The three-knees-and-nine-knees bow was a courtesy not only for Qing dynasty emperors,
but also for Ming dynasty emperors. For example, Cho Heon, who was exercising under the Joseon Yan dynasty,
received the honor of an audience from the Ming emperor Wanryeong, and was so moved by his participation
in the world order as a member (vassal state) of the Great Ming Empire that he even shed tears of joy as
he kneeled down on three knees and nine prostrations.
In 1636, Khan Hongtaiji of the Later Jin Dynasty ascended to the throne under the new name of Qing,
and demanded that Yi pay tribute and submit to the Joseon Dynasty through a relationship of monarch and vassal.
When King Injo of Joseon refused, Hongtaiji immediately raised an army, and the Joseon army surrendered in 45 days
with no recourse. One of the conditions of the peace agreement was that a monument to the merits of Emperor Dae Cheong
be erected. King Injo made three kneelings and nine prostrations to Hontaigi at the altar of surrender in Mitadu,
where the monument was erected, and begged for forgiveness.
    Kingdom of the Netherlands
Isaac Tiching's delegation at an audience ceremony with the Ch'ien-lung Emperor at his court.
The following performs the three kneels and nine tapping of the head during an audience with the Qing Emperor.
Ambassadors Goel and Heisel of the Netherlands in 1655 (Junji 11)
*1664 (Kangxi 3) Dutch Ambassador Gruni.
*1753 (18th year of Qianlong) Dutch Minister.
*1793 (58th year of Qianlong) Dutch Ambassador Isaac Tiching.
    Portugal
The following performs the three kneels and nine tapping of the head during an audience with the Qing Emperor.
*Alexandre Metello, Portuguese ambassador to Japan in 1727.
*1753 (18th year of Qianlong) Portuguese Minister.
    the United Kingdom
Dating back to the Ming Dynasty, in 1637 (Chongzheng 10), the deputy of Capitan Weddeli,
the head of the British trade expedition, conducted the kneeling and tapping of the head to
the officials in charge of Guangdong Province upon the conclusion of the treaty.
In 1793 (the 58th year of Qianlong's reign), British diplomat George Macartney, who had
an audience with the Qianlong Emperor as the leader of the first British mission to China,
refused to perform the three-kneeling bow, and instead performed the ritual in the British way,
with one knee up, which resulted in the exchange of souvenirs only, thus failing to expand trade and
    establish diplomatic relations.
In 1816 (Jiaqing 21), William Amherst was sent to China for the second time as the head of a delegation,
but again he refused to bow down on three knees, and the meeting with Emperor Jiaqing broke down.
William Napier was appointed for the third time in 1834 (14th year of Douguang), but he failed to even
visit Beijing and did not meet with the emperor.
    Japan
In 1873, when Foreign Minister Taneomi Soejima was sent to deal with the Taiwan Incident and exchange
ratification of the Sino-Japanese Treaty of Amity, he was requested by the Qing court to bow nine kneels
before having an audience with Emperor Tongji, but he stressed that he was not an envoy of a tributary state
but a plenipotentiary of an equal state. The ambassadors of the Western powers stationed in Peking at that time
also attempted to gain an audience with the emperor in accordance with equal ceremonies under the guise of
celebrating his marriage and parental authority, but they were again unsuccessful. Soejima quoted
the Five Confucian Precepts and likened the Sino-Japanese relationship to a "friendship and friendship," and
while insisting on a standing audience, he was adamant that he would not hesitate to return to Japan.
In the end, with the approval of Li Hongzhang, who had compromised on the issue of an audience, Soejima finally
had an audience with Emperor Tongzhi on June 29 of the same year, as originally requested. This was the first time
in China's history since the pre-modern era that an audience was formally granted to an emperor through a formal rite
    of passage.

The name of Korea comes from Goguryeo (BC 37 or 3rd century - AD 668), the name of which had been later changed by its king into Goryeo, or/and Goguryeo was sometimes called Goryeo, even before Silla unified three kingdoms(Goguryeo, Baekje[BC 18 - AD 660], smaller Silla[BC 57-AD 676]). Some rulers of Goguryeo founded Balhae after the fall of Goguryeo, claiming it to be a successor of Goguryeo.
Goguryeo or the "first" Goryeo originated from Buyeo, and Buyeo was founded at the place of Go-Joseon. "Old" Joseon or Go-Joseon was the first Korean kingdom and its name was just "Joseon" at its time, but for distinguishing from "later"/"Yi" Joseon, it is now called "Go(=old)-Joseon". Baekje came from the royal family of Goguryeo.
When greater/unified Silla (AD 676 - 935) weakened later, "new" Goryeo replaced the unified Silla, claiming that the new royal court succeeded "old" Goryeo (i.e., Goguryeo). "New" Goryeo (AD 918-1392) was a trade country where even muslim merchants came for businesses from the Middle East and its name was known to foreign countries as "Core", "Corea", and current "Korea" etc.
"Yi" Joseon (1392-1897)replaced "new" Goryeo, with the same name of the "old" Joseon kingdom.
Sum: Go("old")-Joseon->Buyeo->three kingdoms->greater Silla (+ Balhae in the North, which also claimed to succeed the fallen Goguryeo, but when Balhae fell later, its rulers were accepted by "new" Goryeo)-> "new" Goryeo -> "Yi" Joseon or just Joseon -> 20th century history of colonialism(1910-1945), provisional government (1919-45), division into north/south Koreas(1945-), Korean republic-building, north/south (1948-), and war in 1950-3, and now.

The evolution of Korean and Joseon terminology is similar to the Eastern Roman Byzantine Empire and the Germanic Holy Roman Empire, which later differed significantly from the true primitive Romans.
Yi Joseon's term 'Joseon' comes from the bestowal of the Ming Emperor, but in fact, it is not consistent with the location of the 'Giza Joseon'.

🇹🇷🇦🇿🇰🇿🇰🇬🇹🇲🇺🇿🇭🇺 ❤️ 🇰🇷 We came from the Inner Mongolia-Liaoning border at the Liao River basin with our brothers Manchus, Mongolians, Japanese. We lived together for thousand years but we seperated to Mongolia, Korean Peninsula, Japan and Manchuria. Then, Turks and Mongols(I think Mongols as a tribe) lived together. Koreans lived in Korean peninsula. Japanese people lived in Japan. Manchus lived in Manchuria. Our ancestor Bilge Kagan said Goguryeo's king is Bökli Kagan in Orkhon inscriptions but Bilge Kagan did not mention others as a Kagan. I believe that our history is more complicated than European history. We don't have a argue or information about ancient times but we(Koreans-Turks-Mongols) must had a relationship. Also, Japanese people interacted with Korean people but not declare war to Korea until 7th Century. Turkic Countries did not like Chinese Kingdoms because of the fact that Chinese people behave decent to Turks. Some Turks marriaged with Chinese people and their culture changed. Chinese people maybe don't want to assimilate Turks but it is caused of settled life of Chinese. Also, I feel very close to Japanese and Korean people. I like more Korea than European countries. In addition, some Turks maybe write we are Kazakhs, Uzbeks etc. Your tribe is Kipchak/Oghuz. We are Turk in ethnics not Oghuzs not Kipchaks. So, we are more than a brother, we are one. My ancestors came Anatolia from Turkestan, Uyghur and Nogai but my tribes are Oghuz, Kipchak, Uyghur. Also, in Anatolia our ancestors marriaged with Anatolians but this is not make us Anatolian. Anatolians choosed Turk identify from their marriage. All in all, I just want to write my feelings and my thoughts. Greetings Korea from Turkey.

You're probably correct about the Balhae one, only a minority was probably korean
But the Gojoseon one is "half-wrong" in my opinion
Gojoseon definitely didnt exist in 2333 BC, the foundation is just a myth but what people do know is it existed later, like 500 BC
There was even a whole war between the Han Dynasty and Gojoseon (where gojoseon was destroyed)
"Only koreans, who are BTS-" you also didn't have to pull out the stereotype card.

There are too many unclarified things about our (korean) history. When the Chosun dynasty was opened, many Korea history books were burned. And when the japanese annexed us, also many history books were burned and the japanese tried to extinguish the korean history and pride. Many archeological discoveries will prove that our ancestors were not just living in the korean peninsula but rather in the north eastern part of China including the current liaodong peninsula and peking area. Just too bad that the communist chinese government is busy fabricating their history to justify their rule over the area they are occupying these days.

Arabic traders transliterated, and it as it passed onto several european languages, it became Korea.
The name Goryeo comes from the abbreviation of Goguryeo.

Korea remained independent for 2500 years.
Except for the island country, Japan, all other countries were assimilated to China.
Once assimilated with China, you can never become independent again.
That is the difference from Europe and the reason there are few countries in east Asia.

In fact, if it were not for the Soviet Union, Mongolia would no longer exist, while the current Mongolia has been highly Russian, more than half of the Mongolians have become Chinese, and Mongolia has become a completely landlocked country after leaving China and the Soviet Union. Where the development level is very low, it has been unable to keep pace with the development of the world, and is likely to be destroyed in the end. The wheel of history will not let go of any weak. In fact, South Korea is strong enough to continue.
