The government should be saying who can do what on a military base, not a private food company. If the soldiers want her food the least we can do is give it to them.

Sodexo has US contracts as well. The food is usually sub-par, and they cut hours for the Chowhalls, serving only two meals a day on the weekend. I am sure its the same case with the UK, the government tries to save money by outsourcing and it's the service members who suffer from the corners being cut.

Sodexo is just like Tesco or co op, wiping out all small business in towns and villages across the country.

I presume Sadexo run the canteens at Larkhill Barracks, when they won the contract for that they didn't even realise there was a civilian tea/butty van coming onto the site.
When they did realise they then got their van and served notice to Katie's kitchen. Legally there is not much that can be done if they hold the contract. I doubt Sadexo has any desire to run their own van and will drop it within twelve months once she has gone citing lack of interest and the availability of their canteens.

More than likely! It is more than likely the Sadexo Garrison Managers idea

When you're a typical private sector giant that has bribed it's way into a monopoly so you operate on "race to the bottom" principles but someone else is competing and providing a better service so you just use the legal mechanism to force them out of business.
It's almost as if letting large private sector entities do anything related to the military causes a catastrofuck.

joys of privatisation. Expect their food to get shit and prices to go up as soon they get rid of competition

Sodexo did my secondary school meals and was terrible quality and drastically over priced, I didn’t like them then and I definitely hate them now
