Sadly, there are a number of Americans who have been conned into believe that trees are non-renewable. As a result the state only licenses a few areas for logging; many are very, very remote. Interestingly, most of the trees logged today were planted by loggers and will be planted again.
@gandb21 Thats why they use Helicopters to log all over BC, oh right, they don't. Helicopters are far more expensive than building roads. They use them around the Islands because of the steep terrain and mainly because there is no access to roads, it is often the ONLY way to log there.
Great Video! My father used to work for the Ericsson Air Crane Inc. back in the mid 1990's. Would you happen to have any video of a team on the ground working with Chokers? My father worked rolling up Chokers for the Crane in Oregon.
jayturf , Actually I live in a Styrofoam box 'cause I need the insulation ya know? btw, I was kidding about messing up the land, but serious about our lumber going to China.
Great Video...I could watch the Erickson bird do it's thing all day!

I dont see how taking out three logs at a time and flying around wasting fuel is in anyway profitable..
Doing it fast! Gta be making turns constantly to profit!
