@@NikkisLife16 With those kinds of deposits i wonder how much it would cost to buy, and are there even houses in Seoul, because whenever i google 'buy house in Gangnam, Seoul', i just get results for apartments.
@@Haeppy That's well worth it. I'd pay it up front as well and hopefully get a cash discount as well :) Now paying it all up front AND a $50K-$100 deposit on top of that..... then I'd have to think twice lol.
I was looking forward to the loft area. But in reality, I don't think the price is unrealistic. Nice place, kitchen is amazing. Wished the kitchen opened up to the living area, ideal. But full sized appliances in Korea is a big perk.
I LOVED that apartment tour. It was perfect for this channel. So upbeat and comical with a nice touch of flare. That was a nicely decorated house and much worth the $3000 in my opinion. I’ve been looking at places in other parts of NYC so my friends and I could move out and for $3000 we don’t see that amount of space or view!! Luxury indeed! Thanks for the video☺️ Edit: Ahh I forgot you have to pay a hefty deposit to get such a sweet price hmm🤔🤔 I still think it’s pretty awesome if you ask me. A nice investment.
@@jyo_7049 Just because an apartment/house has outdated appliances doesn’t mean it’ll be cheap. There are a lot of places that have outdated appliances and will go for 400k-500k or in this case $1,800+
@@ricekings Really? I'm surprised to hear that. I pay almost 1500/month in Seoul and it's not half as good as this lol. I'd happily 3k for that, but I assumed the deposit was Wolse was 200 million won, at least
What? It's true lol I'm poor so I should know 🤪 I'm almost done with my degree and already have my foot in the door to success- I look forward to a dishwasher!!
I've lived in Seoul for 12 years. Had no idea that you can get a place like that for only 3 grand/month. Especially in Gangnam. Didn't even know you could get a place like that for monthly rent. Thought you'd have to pay a large deposit/Jeonse which would make it rent free. Very good price imo
Meanwhile in my New York studio apartment thats the size of a closet where I pay the exact same amount of rent per month listed for this luxury apartment in Korea
This is in Gangnam! Yea, that is the hardest part. Any agency that caters to foreigners will usually charge more as well for the properties because they know they can target foreigners.
Hey, So I am not moving just yet but I am planning and saving for all things. So what is the estimated cost for a place for 1300 and 1350 sq ft with walk-in closet? I pay 2490 now in the US presently for 2BR 2BA which includes utilities and parking.
You dont put down 'deposites' in korean, you can give Jeonse or key money, but its different from a depoite and the more you pay up front the less you pay monthly,, if you put enough you don't pay rent (but still get your money back when you move out) korean real estate is very different from western countries. Also key money tends to be way more then a deposit
My 400 sq. ft. one bedroom apt. in New York costs me $4500 a month. I'd have to pay $10,000+ a month to get that kind 4 bedroom apt. in New York for that type of space and terrace. But New York prices apartments by the number of bedrooms, more than by the size of the apartment.
Awesome video! Make this a Korean Cribs segment to show more apartment / houses! I love this. Unfortnatley due to all the videos flooding youtube with Korean "apartment tours" are from English teachers, and that is in no way what represents Korean living standards, its like showing studio apartments in America and getting the idea that, that is what Americans live like.. The villa/one room style places are given to English teachers since its the cheapest to provide... Normal family apartments you see in the high rises are much bigger and include full showers and all the amenities. My parents have a house out in asan that looks like a house you could find in Canada or america. There's also so many high tech apartments that are much nicer. Definitely make this a segment.
It's just that most people can't afford to live in those places hahahahah but you're right, there are tons of 아파트 and big places. Just super expensive in Seoul. You'd basically have to be living with your parents to live in a place like that or come from mega wealth. Most people living on their own that I know do, in fact, live in officetels or at most a 14 to 15평 one-ish room type place.
What ppl don't get is that Koreans normally don't pay rents. Thats why the rents are so low compared to the cost of buying the house. People would rather pay for jeonse which is waaay more expensive but you can get the money back when you move out. For houses like this, the jeonse money would be like 1mill to 2mill usd depending on the location
Now this is fancy luxury! Look at the space! I can only dream for that on a postdoc salary here in Seoul! So thankful to have a rent controlled studio in the university! Just imagine how many bookshelves I can fit in a space like that! It's my dream to have a staircase like that in my house!
