Hi Glen!!! well at least for you it has been a really good year in music adding a lot of cool stuff to the collection and your favorite artist still releasing great music after all this years. Btw on the hardest and heavy spectrum of music it has also been a very solid year with cool music from classic bands too... cheers and be well

I figured that Billy, Bela and the Earl Jam record would be all over this list! One of my favourites this year is T Bone Burnett, The Other Side. A great, mostly acoustic record with Colin Linden on dobro and guitar.

And I've got... exactly none. ha! I'm way more into the pop mainstream. But, my favorite album of the year, so far, is out of the North American mainstream. An all-female alternative rock band from the UK, The Last Dinner Party, with their debut album "Prelude To Ecstasy". I could see older music fans liking this. They have a very theatrical alternative rock sound, with some prog rock elements thrown in. I really like their lead guitarist and lead singer. The guitarist has a part-prog style of playing. And the singer reminds me of a young Ann Wilson, from the group Heart.

Billy is going to be top 10 for sure (if I will count Live albums).
My Favorites so far further include:
    Studio
    - Kings Głyk - Real Life
    - Black Crowes - Happiness Bastards
    - Marcus King - Mood Swings
    - Slash - Orgy Of the Damned
    - Full Flower Moon Band - Megaflower
    Live
    - Ann Wilson & Tripsitter - Live in Concert
    - Fanny - Live on Beat-Club '71-'72
    EP
    - Angela Petrilli & the Players - Live at Norm's Rare Guitars (at least structurally it qualifies as an EP)
    - Greg Koch - Melting the Farmhouse
Now I am waiting for the debut albums by Grace Bowers & the Hodge Podge and Saving Escape (waiting for this for years). Then I'm quite interested in the new album by David Gilmour, the songs he released so far are really good. Also looking forward to the new EPs by Scruffy Bear and Belle & the Vertigo Waves.

    Hi Glen.
If you like that Adrianne Lenker album, I reckon you should check out En Embudo by Mary Elizabeth Remmington.
It's similar to Lenker's album, in that it was simply recorded live in a room with one microphone, and Lenker sings backing vocals.
I originally thought that the two records were recorded at the same sessions, but apart from Lenker they have different musicians playing.
While I like Lenker's album, I prefer Remmington's voice, the feel is more folky and has echoes of Gillian Welch.
    Check out Mary Elizabeth Remmington.
Love Bélla Fleck. I've heard his Rhapsody in Blue, which is great, but I'm not a fan of his more jazzy output. It's odd, I like jazz, but there's something about that style of jazz that isn't may kettle of fish.
    Cheers - Hedley
