Given the mixed reviews so far I’m still deciding. The only thing I’ve consistently heard good things about are the shampoo and the dc (as a soft protein treatment - not a moisture treatment). Your review was super honest as usual and I appreciated every second.

Theses companies are still using COVID as an excuse! HHM took almost 3 weeks for a pre shipping email! I canceled so fast! But on the other hands Curls and Potions and TMC shipped me my Black Friday orders immediately and had them by that Tuesday! It’s really a gamble out here!

Do you know...after you gave the critical analysis of the FedEx tracking cycle from start to finish, my wheels where turning. Girl, I ordered my box 10/23 🤔 🤔 🤔. My tracking says it should arrive today by nine. I love Issa and I'm so sure she's not on the package assembly line but a recalibration is in order. I'm glad you enjoyed the product overall!!! Lol thank you for talking about your issues with getting the products. I had a similar experience with a different company. I placed my order in mid September, followed up a month later for an update - no reply, followed up month after that - no reply, followed up again - no reply. Finally got a response when I used the chat feature on their website and was told it would ship on December 1st. Did it? I have no idea. I wouldn’t mind the delays if I was given an update. Sigh. Ended up disputing the charge.
The only thing I'm eyeing is that shampoo! I saw Denise review it as well and it looks good!

Yes preach!! Shipping gives me anxiety! I had a similar experience with Adwoa beauty a while ago. And also with a brand called Served Fresh. I didn’t receive my products until I went to the BBB. It took over four months to receive my products with them. Your face when you used that shampoo was everything! Great video!!

Note: Celebs can be all about styling their natural hair, however the health and care for their hair is something totally different. And to put out a hair care line, is a lot of work and it's really strange how all these celebs have been putting out hair care prods around the same time. Just sus to me ☕

I’d have to disagree. Issa has definitely worn and showcased her natural hair more than most black female celebrities. My mom watched her show partly for styling ideas since she also has a twa. She definitely has better formulations than Gabby, Taraji, and Traci. imo..

I absolutely get what you mean. That’s a loaded question that would be perfect for the leaders of these companies.
As far as my own take, there’s several factors involved from a business perspective. Our current Black-owned brands (BOBs) favorites were formulated by people initially invested in their own hair care from experience of working with several products.
Where as celebrity-funded companies (CFCs) are more dependent on traditional cosmetic chemistry formulations with either a high or a low influence of what’s popular in the natural hair community. In other words these larger CFCs are new to this and not true to this and they’re clearly just guessing.
Our BOB favorites weren’t afraid to start small and break the ‘cosmetic chemistry mold’ in terms of formulations, and build up their companies with millions of trial and error over the last decade; adjusting those formulations accordingly. These celebrity-funded companies are skipping that process of trial and error and not sifting through the misinformation that buzzes throughout the natural community. Instead, they’re going big and hard ($$$) with mass productions and quality packaging, on a guess and hope that it’ll work.
In fact, the white-owned companies (WOCs) are running into the exact same problem-skipping the process because there’s money to waste.
I got mine the other day, I haven’t reviewed it yet but excited to use it. I didn’t know there was a preorder in Oct. I’d be mad too if they said mid November and it arrives around Black Friday, not good. Your face tho when you got to the deep conditioner😂🤣😹 Great review💚

I'm not going to lie to you, some of that mess is straight dead ass FedEx. My delivery man had the nerve to even say he showed up to my business at 6:30 when he knows we close at 5, and then still didn't deliver my late package until 1 on the next day like har de har. Me and FedEx have been struggling for the past 1 1/2 yr with their lies and shenanigans.

Had similar issues with Curl Daze. I intentionally took my twist out anticipating my delivery of products in a couple of days. Well I am still here with hair a mess waiting. I guess I will use some of my stashed products cuz I can't wait another day. Geesh!!!!

I had a similar shipping experience with Honey’s Handmade. They still hadn’t shipped 2 weeks after I ordered so I emailed them. Right away I got a shipping notice. Days later, the USPS still didn’t have the package. They just printed the label but didn’t bring it to the post office until I emailed them again.
HH plays A LOT of games with shipping. One of many reasons I’m not ordering from them for a while 🙄

I understand your anger. I am so tired of companies sending shipment information with the tracking number only for the package to not be shipped until 2 weeks later. I currently have 2 orders from Black Friday sitting in the warehouse and I’ve been sitting on the tracking number for almost a week. I’d rather you send an email saying due to high demands there is a delay in sending out orders and it’ll be a few weeks instead of me getting an email saying my order is being shipped with a tracking number when you know it’s going to be sitting in the warehouse (not in transit) for over a week.
It’s very simple. Stop calling it a shipping confirmation when you just printed the label 🤣

I have this kind of relationship with Whitney’s Melanin Haircare. I lovvvvvve the conditioner as a leave-In but the $10 shipping isn’t cool. Hello Ulta, which carries it with $0 shipping. But Ulta and the Melanin website is always out of stock. Like months, and months, out of stock. I finally e-mailed them and they restocked for Black Friday but only on their site, $10.00 shipping. I saw your review of Alikey leave-in and ordered it. I used it today and I’m switching I can honestly say I wouldn’t have changed if not for constantly being out of stock, and the $10 shipping.

When you said shipping notification with no tracking number then when you found out the shipper but the package didn't move , GUUUURL!! Exactly what's happening to me right now with Miche, Got a notification that my products shipped Monday(11/30) as of today(12/4) the shipper still has not received the products. I emailed them only for them to say your products have shipped & this is the tracking, information I already had. Then the icing on the cake is when they sent me a survey asking was the reply Good, Okay or Bad.....they are seriously trying my damn gangster. So I just didn't answer because what I wanted to say wasn't what I needed to say(where the f***K are my products!!!)
