is japan's censorship with dismemberment relatively new? Alot of peeople noticed it with DBZ Xenoverse 2, when Gohan still had his arm, but I know i've seen anime with beheading like in Elfen Lied.

they didn't censor the mutation, they censored the decapitation. one is gross, but the other is violence. Japan doesnt censor things just for being gross, otherwise there would be no tentacle porn. Also, they DID censor the scene, because you dont stick your hand inside his body.

I don't get it at the second part. The cop's head is censored in the first part to a photograph, but then shown joined on the body of the same bloke? If they still show that then, why remove it earlier? What's the point?

Stupid question here at 1:30 since it is censored in the Japanese version you skip the whole animation of getting the key out of the corpse. Does that count as an advantage if i wanna speedrun the game? Lol
The funny thing is, back in 1996 and the release of RE 1, it was the other way around: the international version was censored and the Japanese version was not.
It's so strange that Japan censors these kind of games so much.. Taking the gore out of a Resident Evil game kills the immersion. The censorship sometimes makes things confusing(fridge for example).

Dude, you know as well as I do that they censor their own porn, there is no way that is better than what we do.
Yeah it's weird hit or miss with a ton of stuff, like age of consent laws are different and portrayal of younger people in sexual situations isn't frowned upon. I honestly think that the US is very strange with how they approach sexuality and nudity though, like we all know we love it and watch porn and whatnot, but DON'T TALK ABOUT! More so European countries are more pro sexuality versus pro violence, which the states is the complete opposite of.

if I'm correct, the 21 minigame is different too. instead of chopping off fingers with mini-guillotines, the fingers are bent upward until broken, which, IMHO, makes no sense at all. you would have a harder time dying by breaking your fingers instead of getting them chopped off.
