I love all your projects, the patterns and colors are very beautiful and appealing to me. So glad you are enjoying your annual leave. I giggled when you showed the finger hats, we call them thimbles here. They make a great collectible and there are so many lovely display cases for them. I’ll look forward to seeing your finishes from home next time. 🪡
Thimbles does sound better than finger hats ;) Thank you for watching! And I look forward to recording the next floss tube, so many beautiful finishes to share from different decades! Wishing you a nice weekend!
G'day I love your projects. Your stitching is beautiful. Glad you had a good holiday in the UK. The finger hats which you called them, so cute we call them thimbles. Love forward to your next video. Have a lovely time with your parents.
Ah, so your break is over already. I have to say that mine is flying by and before I'll know it'll be over :(. Wishing you a good start of the academic year!
I'm a grandma so I have only one left in school, she is taught at home. Yeah I'm getting old, all the neighborhood kids have graduated and in college!!! You have to be a special person to be an educator ❤️🥰
Spent a few days Honeymoon in Stratford-on-Avon. Some years later I made bobbin and needlelace when living near Oxfordshire. My daughter used to collect thimbles as inexpensive and easy to pack. I had a copy of the flowers book in the 1990s. I did one or two of Jane's patterns from magazines (she lived a few miles away from us at that time. Loved how the bunny turned out. When you get your machine you can maybe make the larger finished pieces into wall hangings? Lakeside's online shop is very reliable I find. Enjoy your weekend.
You and I have so much in common, it is almost scary ;). Honeymooning in Stratford must have been lovely and I wish I already had the skills for making lace. So far I have not found anyone in the neighbourhood who can teach me. RUclips tutorials it is ;). I will look into wall hangings! Wishing you a lovely weekend too!
The bunny is adorable! Some stitchers on RUclips try for a fuzzy or fluffy effect when they stitch a fur or snow scene. They try adding a specialty thread along with their DMC white thread. I’m going to try this idea when I next do such a scene. Also, I’ve seen someone adding a few clear sequins on top of white stitches to create a sparkling snow effect. These are good ideas that may or may not be suitable on everything we work on.
Lilacs are so pretty. They remind me of one of my favorite wisteria! We could not hear helicopter but I'm sure it was loud for you. I live in Tampa Bay and McDill Air Force base is stationed in the bay. There is sometimes fly overs...
Thank you for the video Hanneke and as always your stitching is beautiful . The tablecloth looks lovely and delicate. I love that you found the book in a charity shop while on holiday. I do have a look around in some of the shops near me when I am out food shopping it is amazing what you come across sometimes. So you are now collecting finger hats (thimble in the UK) that will grow, but it will take up less room. I I think I have caught up with your videos again so look forward to seeing you on your next floss tube.
Thanks again! You have been busy watching several in a row ;). I was so happy to find that book! Made my day! Hope you have some time to stitch this weekend!
Another great video! I always love to see how your projects are coming along and enjoyed the close-up of each one. I love those tiny tea sets too. There's just something about them that make them so special. But...I haven't ever purchased any because I just couldn't get beyond the idea that they take up space and what would I do with all of them. BTW we call "finger hats" thimbles in the U.S. They are a great replacement collection for miniature tea sets. 😊 As a side note - your hair looks so pretty! Enjoy the rest of your annual leave!
Thank you so much! I recently had some highlights put into my hair and I am quite happy with how it turned out :). And those tea sets are so cute so I couldn't resist. Well done you for withstanding the pressure ;)!
The tree came out beautifully! They are living, organic, growing and your additional leaves are a lovely addition❤ Aawww, the bunny looks so sweet on cream! How wonderful this community is! What a wonderful gift❤
Good stitching on your holiday! And good progress on your others. The lady on the street (sorry, I can't remember the name!😂) is really coming along beautifully.. I too collect thimbles, but silver antique ones. They are displayed on my wall in an old printers draw. Ooohhhh, thank you for my lovely ocean pattern! Very exciting! I will message you shortly❤ See you next time, Teri
Happy stitching!
Hooray! I was so excited to see your flosstube come up on my feed today! I enjoyed the photos of your trip. Your stitching is beautifully done. The bunny is adorable. Also, I like your blouse/top very much, and your hair is fabulous! Thank you for your videos. I love them.
I wish I had known you were in Aberystwyth ~ I could have met up with you as I live not too far away in a little place called Machynlleth. I enjoyed your video today , hearing about your travels and seeing your lovely WIPS! I have a collection of thimbles which I have been collecting for a long time. If I go anywhere new, I usually look out for a thimble to remind me of my visit!
Oh that is such a missed opportunity! I absolutely love 'your neck of the woods'! Wales is stunning and has given me many moment of collecting my thoughts and relaxing amidst PhD stress. So I love it there and will definitely go back. Was actually already looking for a few days around christmas. So maybe we can have a stitchy meet up then? Lovely to hear you also collect thimbles :)
Hello Hanneke, I’m so glad you are enjoying your holiday and getting to travel. Your full coverage stitching is so gorgeous. Do you not find it difficult to stitch them without gridding? I’m nit sure I could keep count lol Enjoy your time at your parents and the rest of your time before going back to work. You have such a lovely calm demeanor and a beautiful smile. Suzette
Thanks for watching again, Suzette! I am have never used easy count and so far I have never missed it. I do usually count everything twee just to be sure :)
Hi Hanneke! Just wondered if you have ever made it to Hay-on-Wye - the “town of books” when you’ve been in Wales? It’s on the English/Welsh border and is probably the best place in the WORLD for book lovers! 📚📚📚😃
I have not been there but after a google search I have decided I have to go there one day! So pretty! My next Welsh holiday I will put it on the to do list. Thanks for the suggestion!
Love your stitching! The magic needle kits are very reasonable. Are you satisfied with cloth and floss? Whrre did you buy your kit I saw one I really liked . Thanks! See u soon!!
Thank you so much for watching! I am more than happy with the floss in the kit. They give a zweigart 14 ct fabric which is good quality but i substituted anyway for a 16 ct as I prefer it. I bought it at amazon.nl. In my second or third flosstube I give a full review of the kit, should you wish to have some further insights. Happy stitching!
Your shirt or dress makes me happy. I love the colors.
Thank you so much! Just bought it in the UK during my trip.
Your finishes are beautiful. Your holiday sounds like it was relaxing and fun. Enjoy the rest of your time off.
Thank you so much!

Very nice work on all your finishes. Love the bunny. Absolutely lovely video I enjoy watching you, please keep sharing with us.
Thank you so much for watching! I do appreciate it!
Dat konijntje is superschattig!
Dank je wel :)
Thimble!!
Haha, that sounds much better than finger hats ;)

Ah so you can relate with the noise. It was quite loud for me but somehow the microphone did not pick it up! So yay

Thank you so much for watching and all these kind compliments.
I've found, the 14 count Aida I hand dyed changes the count, sometimes in one direction!
That might have had something to do with it!
