Thanks! The basic setting: Upper setting: 65 4000 005 and 88 8000 000 Lower setting: 00 8880 000 after that I switch to 00 8800 000 and back But I change quite often as you can see. This is a good start with enough balance.
Rein, you are the greatest. Your renditions are 99.9% authentic and lightyears ahead of all those Casio players annoying me with incorrect voicings or even chords. Your Hammond sounds gorgeous. Thank you so much for all your work!
OMG! Rein thanks so much. I cant tell you how many times this version of "No woman, no cry" has made me weep. Jerry Garcia once said that "Music should be holy..not commercial", and this song truly does embody that reality. Thanks for the hard work of putting this together. I cant gig with a hammond (just too much to lug around), but with the help of this video and the comments posted I think that I can set the drawbars properly in a split keyboard setup on Apple mainstage. Thanks again!
Very well done! Don't listen to those who are not players and obviously have no clue to the amount of work you put in here. Thank you so much for posting this. I was having trouble with some of the voicings and you helped me greatly. You have an amazing ear, and a love for the Hammond that comes through in your playing! You ROCK dude! Keep it up! :)
Ahhhhh at last, silence... nope.... shhhhhhh....... hear the spirit rise up to the sky... mmmmmmmmm No woman no cry.... RIP Bob!...your music still dwell in our soul....
jeetje wat GOED gedaan!!!!!Dat moet nogal een werk geweest zijn heel dit lied zo uitvissen..........KNAP HOOR!!!!!! ik hoop het ooit ook nog eens zo te kunnen spelen!
Nice work. This is one of my favorite Hammond recordings, and you do it great justice! What an ear for transcription too; if I ever play this tune with my band, I'm using this video as a resource.
Absolutely brilliant. Your drawbar setting sound perfect. One of my favourite "Hammond" songs (Along with Green Onions of course). So nice to see the little parts that I miss out. Thank you Rein.
Great playing. Strongly recommend this video to anyone who composes using digital libraries... to get a good look at how versatile the original instrument is. Will help immensely in trying to recreate “that” sound. However handy and comfortable the digital studio is, I guess there’s still nothing like the real thing.
Woud you be kind enough to share the music Sheet of your interpretation. It is so great. I World like to play to play it in honor of a beloved one. Thank you so much
Thanks...I receive a lot of requests for the sheets of all the music on my channel. I shall try to get the rights to publish the sheets again....This time with a bigger companion.....
I just realized how beautiful the organ in that song is! I never imagined anyone would copy the whole arrangement of a reggae song haha But this is really beautiful =)
wow. you NAILED this. i don't really know what else to say. this is seriously impressive. there's a lot of nuance in this organ part, and you just got. all. of. it.
what a beautiful sound, many organist search their whole lives to get exactly that sound. i have heard hundreds of hammonds through leslies but, they don't sound like that. i have a (nord C2 & a leslie 822) can you give me any advise about settings.
That was awesome. I guess my love for the Hammond/any organ stemmed from this song (and other songs by other musicians) during childhood. EDIT: Bob Marley
Great work ...thanks for doing the work to recreate the magic...Can I ask what the drawbar settings are on the lower manual at the beginning? on the first fill you do? Thanks!!
It's PERFECT! It made me shiver! Just one remark: you missed the very last part, it's beautiful for the organ, please include it in a new video. You're awesome :)

That Hammond makes a beautiful sound... so much better, than what is around today.
Wow. This song is so unique, a punch to the soul man. Bob Marley was without a doubt one of the best musicians in human history.
