Larson Davidson How many non-comic book things has he been involved with? Because he's certainly not a hero I grew up watching on TV, or am otherwise overly familiar with. I'll totally be seeing this movie, though, because Marvel has shown that it can give us really enjoyable films with ideas that sound really stupid and silly on paper. (A guy whose power is to shrink to ant size and he can talk to ants? REALLY?) I mean, how many people last year would have thought that "A green chick, a gun-toting talking raccoon, a tree that can only say three words, a guy played by a wrestler, and a guy from earth who listens to old cassette tapes" would turn out to be one of the best flicks of the summer?
***** TV is not the only thing that makes a character popular. Despite getting a successful movie and a popularity boost all in all even the Guardians of the Galaxy are obscure compared to Ant-Man.
zapface94 I'm not saying he's all that obscure, but he would be more obscure to those Marvel Movie fans who don't read comic books. I grew up with the cartoons and shows (mostly X-Men, Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk live action show, and the old Fantastic Four cartoons) so I'm less familiar with Ant Man than someone who grew up watching the Avengers cartoons, or reading the comics.

Julius KIm Maybe it's is because there is no thought to the name, it's easy to come up with the name Ant-man, while the villain chose yellow jacket to compare how his suit is to how the yellow jacket wasp is.
Julius KIm Spider-man, Bat-man, Aqua-man, Frogman and Giant man! And there is Ant-man. I don't get where the name is dumb just because it sounds dumb? Really? There's a guy out there dressed up like a bat? A BAT? For Marvel to make fun of its own character, now to me, is beyond dumb! Because of all of the negativity the movie is projecting against the name, I am thinking by the end of the movie...and please let be right. Ant-man will surprise us all! Double for the Naysayers!
Ryan Neill That's not a bad thing though imo. Iron Man 1 is my second favorite marvel movie, and Guardians of The Galaxy is my favorite. This seems to blend both of the tones, which I love.
Just finished the whole daredevil on Netflix it was great, and now I feel alone.. ughh I hate finishing TV shows.. don't know what to do with my life lol.
Kumquatodor I wouldn't say Marvel has made a great movie, at all. They just make fun action movies, with good plot twists and interesting characters, which is more then you can say about most action movies.
ThisIsMyFullName Fair enough. Even at their very worst, Marvel movies have at least vaguely interesting characters. Usually, their characters are great.

Absolutely brilliant. Super excited for this, because of everything Marvel has done lately is nothing short of awesome (latest one being Marvel's Daredevil)
Oh God. All the people bitching about Ant-Man clearly have no idea how important Hank Pym is. Granted Marvel has changed the movies up but God read a comic and see how important Hank Pym is. He's an original Avenger and he built Ultron.
Greg Case In this alternate timeline we live in, the "Movie-verse" has changed Marvel Comics. Since Tony Stark is now the maker of Ultron and Vision for that matter, Ant-Man really is now an insignificant hero. He is not credited as the maker of Ultron and not a founding member of the Avenger. As this movie indicated he is not even a brilliant scientist. Aside from the above I will go see this Movie in a heartbeat!!! Hell yeah Ant-Man rocks!!!!!
mega sean In the comics, Wasp and him are founding members of the Avengers. But here, he'll just eventually join the team. He's already been confirmed for Captain America: Civil War.

toasteh I never said heavy production, I said development. It was originally slated for a 2010 release, but was pushed back due to Iron Man preforming better then expected. It being released after Guardians of the Galaxy is actually a genuine shock, given it was originally intended to be a pre-Avengers movie for a character of similar popularity to the rest of the Avengers cast before their movies where made.
toasteh Dude, do your research. The reason Ant-Man was halted several times was because the original director, Edgar Wright wanted to do the movie but he wanted the movie humor to be like Shawn Of the Dead, or Hot Fuzz. Marvel didn't like that approach so Edgar left the project. And with all that going on, most of Phase 1 of the marvel cinematic was done so they decided to get the project back on right after Age Of Ultron. Also Ant-Man isn't an "insignificant superhero" He was one of the founding members of The Avengers in the comics and a huge part of the marvel universe. Just because your ignorant to the character doesn't mean he's "insignificant"
The action looks great (That stunt with the bullet, the ridiculous train sequence at the end). I'd say it's worth the watch for the fight scene. However... Marvel has gotten into a bad habit of giving away too much in their marketing. From the trailers we've seen of this we know the themes this movie will tackle, its tone, character relationships, the villain and his motives, how they'll address the 'corny' ant man name... Gosh dang this looks good. Still has that kind of Epicness you want from a Marvel movie, but at the same time acknowledges that it's comic roots are a little silly. Plus, as a guy not hugely learned in the comics, the wasp/hornet/whatever at 1:45 looks flippin epic.
+Mxepitate ikr that movie was awesome! my mom said the train scene was in previews even the part where it fell instead of suspense XDDDDD so i decided to look it up XD
Not really because even though he is small, it doesn't make his ability to hit someone or grab something weaker so it's probably better then most avengers. Imagine going inside someone's stomach and hitting him from the inside, they would die.
Movie is really stupid, but come on, Michael Douglas is in there, thanks to him this movie is a little better. As an Hispanic i thought i was great to see and Hispanic also, but he is way too overacted, the movie is ok, very entertained
Oh god this looks terrible. I've never read a marvel or DC comic in my life but surely whoever wrote the marvel ones must be pissed off with how stupid these films are? Especially when the recent Batman films have been so much better.
eagc7 batman is DC universe dont compare them also AntMan is a legit member of the avengers in the original story's would you want ant man to suddenly be with the avengers in the third instalment? or do you want to have a background movie first?
+Alex Mckillmore Ouch. That must of hurt being insulted like that. It must of made you feel like you're back in primary school by the quality of that insult.
Paul: My days of breaking into places and stealing stuff are over. What do u want me to do? Him: i want u to break into a place and steal stuff. Paul: it makes sense hahaha!
I can't believe "Imagine a soldier but really really tiny" is apparently an effective sales pitch. "Like a regular soldier, but he could get eaten by my dog."
This is what I love about marvel movies. They really know how to make something that doesn't look corny. Unlike DC movies, It's hard to take batman seriously with that uniform.
Ant-Man's worst enemy: A vacuum cleaner.

I thought he was a bee as well
Must watch.
Thomas the tank engine is now officially a Avenger!!!
Good movie.
This looks so amazingly stupid! Hahahahaha.
monkeyboy8me i dont think so
monkeyboy8me so, do you like it or not?
I am confused.
***** no this looks awful
monkeyboy8me but the movie was good, atleast most of the peoples and reviews say so.
***** Yea, still have to watch it. if you live in germany you have always wait a little longer for the movie. but now it's out!
To the CINEMA!!!
Is this a joke? Really? We are going to be watching epic battles in carpet threads and toys? No one will take this superhero seriously..
ScarlettM just like people were "not" able to take a talking raccoon and walking tree seriously
ScarlettM clearly you dont understand.....
Tell that to all the Ant-Man fans.
+Mxepitate ikr that movie was awesome! my mom said the train scene was in previews even the part where it fell instead of suspense XDDDDD so i decided to look it up XD
Im gonna bring a bag of ants with me into the movie theaters and we're all gonna watch this movie.
2:19 LOL .
I think this movie is gonna be Marvels garbage... everyone has a garbage film. With that being said, I'll probably be in theaters to watch it. Lol
Phantomxcl Marvel's got a lot of garbage already: Capt. America 1, Thor 1 and 2, Iron Man 2 and 3, Hulk...
***** ...okay, okay. I'm in agreement there. Lol. Good point on most of those.
I like all the Iron Man movies, it's Tony Stark, come on man!
Walking_Dead_Redhead 2 was whack. 3 was okay. 1 was the best.
I didn't like Cap 1 or Thor 1 but the rest I enjoyed lol well iron man was boring
This must be the dumbest superhero of all time
Ant man. Uhhhh... I'll pass
Thought the same tbh I thought his power was just being small lol didn't know he was super strong too
Oh please. There have been far dumber heroes. At least Ant-man has a good backstory and effective abilities.
Jerich0 *cough* Howard the Duck *cough*
Not really because even though he is small, it doesn't make his ability to hit someone or grab something weaker so it's probably better then most avengers. Imagine going inside someone's stomach and hitting him from the inside, they would die.
Movie is really stupid, but come on, Michael Douglas is in there, thanks to him this movie is a little better. As an Hispanic i thought i was great to see and Hispanic also, but he is way too overacted, the movie is ok, very entertained
I'm loving the deadpan humor in this movie
omg, the train scene is priceless!
Oh god this looks terrible. I've never read a marvel or DC comic in my life but surely whoever wrote the marvel ones must be pissed off with how stupid these films are? Especially when the recent Batman films have been so much better.
Alex Mckillmore the antman movie was actually good.
eagc7 batman is DC universe
dont compare them
also AntMan is a legit member of the avengers in the original story's
would you want ant man to suddenly be with the avengers in the third instalment?
or do you want to have a background movie first?
*****
Sorry, I'm too busy watching your mum online
+Alex Mckillmore Ouch. That must of hurt being insulted like that. It must of made you feel like you're back in primary school by the quality of that insult.
2:17 its epic lol xD
He is Mike Hannigan.😂😂😂
I hope Marvel gives Thomas the tank engine a stand alone movie.
Paul Rudd is in his suit he looks like Jon Lajoie
Movie was better then I expected considering the name "Antman" lol. Michael Douglas & Paul Rudd did a good job, not to mention Pena's humor
I love the dynamics of the shots n acrobatics so damn much asdfg
"For your crimes you have been sentenced to... Death by Thomas!" - Antman
Batman: "Tell me. Do you bleed?"
Ant-Man "Better question. Can you shrink?"
Ant-man: Bring it on!
Ultron:Hahahahaha!!!!
Ant-man: I warn you.
Ultron:...... O_O
Ending killed me lol...
Paul: My days of breaking into places and stealing stuff are over. What do u want me to do?
Him: i want u to break into a place and steal stuff.
Paul: it makes sense
hahaha!
Your trailer ant-man comes out on July 17 and that's my birthday!
😄😄
the atom be like damm.. They too big
Antman is 1of my favorite superheros ever
Ant-man save my laptop's ass from ants
Wow, Paul Rudd surprisingly looks really good in this role
This looks like an awesome movie! Thomas the tank engine was my childhood too!
thats not how physics work, thats not how any of this works.
I can't believe "Imagine a soldier but really really tiny" is apparently an effective sales pitch. "Like a regular soldier, but he could get eaten by my dog."
Thomas's Wrong Whistle
Thomas the Dank Engine deserves a spot in the Avengers.
Toy Story : Age of ant suits
I thought it was going to be stupid. I clicked on this video and was forced to change my opinion. It's new and looks great!
This is what I love about marvel movies. They really know how to make something that doesn't look corny. Unlike DC movies, It's hard to take batman seriously with that uniform.
That train scene tho...lollll
The real hero of ant-man: Thomas the tank engine.
Paul Rudd is like a mini Ben Affleck
Ant-Man's biggest villain is a bottle of Raid
Taking Spider-Man to the next level. Add some Thomas the Tank Engine to get this dramatic, weird but hilarious shit!!!
who else noticed the change in lines when they were saying "steal some stuff"
"...destroy everyone you care about."
^The single most often used phrase by the villain in every superhero film.
better bring magnifying glass if your planing to watch this lol
2:06 i see a childhood easter egg
No real ants were harmed in the making of this movie.
