It's a health hazard too! Always check the containers to see if the seal has been broken, if so don't buy it. If a worker is around let them know and hopefully they will take and dispose of it.
As a former Walmart associate, I can tell you that this isn't new. People have been eating deli chickens and leaving them on the shelves a long time. That's what happens when you allow low class people in the store and let them get away with it.

What the hell qualifies as "low class"?? My family was as poor as it gets, we were never this disrespectful. Even as kids my brother and I knew not to throw tantrums, be loud, or touch anything without asking first. Let's be honest- if you tried to stop "low class" people from coming in, not only would Walmart go out of business but they'd have a million more lawsuits in racial discrimination.

This is so low and pathetic. What's worst is that the people are wasting the foods! They eat about half the food and then just leave the rest. And now no one can eat it anymore. Ahhh, I really hate this.

Walmart claims it's due to the possibility of lawsuits if someone gets sick from the food but, Publix donates theirs to local pantries. It's really a question of heart. Walmart has NO heart.

Today for lunch I was making my son a PBJ sandwich. I opened the peanut butter jar I noticed it was half eaten with broken plastic spoon inside. I just bought it the day before. 25 minutes to drive back up there. 😡20 minutes waiting in line at the customer service. Just to hear sir we can’t take that back it’s been eaten. After I explained somebody else had already eaten it before I bought it. The man working the counter kept looking at me and at the jar And he says I don’t believe you… I’ll refund just this one time. But no more. I stood there thinking WTF…?😳 no justice ….

This pisses me off. Just yesterday I bought some bread from Wal Mart and did not realize until I took it home that someone must have taken out the end bread and a few of the other slices. I've also purchased deodorant from them only to realize someone must have already broken the seal, put their dang dirty and musty arm on the deodorant and put it discreetly back on the shelf. I don't have the money to waste on tampered products. Inspect your purchases at these stores. People are doing some lame things.

Well, sometimes, you in the store and wanna taste some things. I've done it all the time, especially when it's busy. Just too easy. My whole family eats, and we just put back what we don't wanna buy. That saves so much money. You try it at the store, let them pay you to test it, and then you only keep what's really good tasting ... or that you didn't eat all of it.

@lt5071 Well, I like it where it has the label all around it, then Peoples can't tell how much in there. That's the best jars (like those Peanut Butter ones). You can get a lot out and drop it onto your chicken pieces (from the deli -- they're free, of course), then we always grab some french bread, take some butter & butter it up, my little boy DJ will even bring garlic sprinkles ... and we make garlic bread -- because we mix that up & hide it in deli stuff for a while -- and the butter melts, and by that time, grab some of that heated shrimp, we've made a few PB&J sandwiches, grabbed some chips, snuck into MacDonald's and got some free drinks, bought one thing & complained & always get a free one from Micky's, and we walking around shopping. That saves so much money. We can go in and eat for free -- because we SAMPLING IT -- and then save $50 or $60 bucks (maybe $80 bucks, who knows now?). Just it's easy to get away with it, cuts your grocery bill down, and don't even have to use the EBT card for anything. All 8 of us eat for just the trip.
Sorry about that. People (like me) just get hungry when shopping, and it's just too tempting to taste things, sample here & there, and try to find ways to lower our grocery bill.
One more reason to shop somewhere else... anywhere else has to be better.

A relative used to work in loss prevention at Walmart for several years. She said this was a HUGE problem.
Bigger than most people know. And, on TikTok, people getting smarter's, and they giving rest of us all the secrets. It's even gotten easier now -- with so many people doing it.
I worked at Walmart in the deli an when people did it we weren't allowed to do or say anything because they are still in the store an they could pay for before leaving so we couldnt assume anything but we had one guy come in every damn day homeless dude an eat up two strawberry parfait an walk around an leave

I work part time in a grocery store. We have a hot bar, with wings. Frequently, people select a wing, eat it as they walk through the store, and just leave the bones on a shelf. I had a woman; who was checking out; hand me an empty grapes 🍇 bag. She and her child had eaten them all. We sell grapes by the pound. I can't charge for an empty bag.

I work at a grocery store and this happens all the time. People eat bananas when it’s sold by the pound. Finding half eaten food from the deli.
I remember one time I work in the meat department and there was a pack of raw meat behind Cheerios or another general meals and cereal.
It's especially common with smaller items like grapes.

If you know someplace selling Rotisserie Chicken for $4.00 please, tell us where. Most places charge 7 or 8 dollars. Costco is the only one in my area that still has them for $5.00 and they only do that as a draw to get customers. The actually lost over 2 billion dollars on their Rotisserie Chickens last year because they insist on keeping it at 2017 prices. 2017 is when everyone else started raising the price on the Rotisserie Chickens.

Lived in japan for years. Due to all the tourist, they have started putting some signs up in English only saying that opening and consuming products before paying is theft. Seeing this you can see why they only started having to have these signs in some rather famous touristy stores in Tokyo.

Like I tell ya'll here, I'm living the life in Houston, Texas. Walmart's so busy. Them workers busy with mopping & yapping. And, go on busy days like Saturday, and it's a FREE BUFFET.

This happens all the time. I've seen people change the prices of expensive meat like filet mignon and swap the price with ground beef since they pay at self checkout. Imagine getting 80 dollars worth of meat for less than 6 dollars.
I used to work for a crazy guy who owned Height Electric, dude is (or was) a millionaire, but we went into Wal-Mart so he could buy $300 worth of groceries and then he would price check every item (back when they allowed price check) and severely undervalued every item to the point that the end total he paid was $75. This is why we can't have nice things, or an ever-increasing debt ceiling... maybe both eventually...
My friends and I used to do something similar to this when I was in high school 30 yrs ago. I would go into Marshalls store and change the price of expensive shirts to cheap ones since back then they had barcode price tags attached with a safety pin. We got caught and had to sign a doc saying we would never enter the store again.

Even though, I got @CS once; well, it didn't benefit me enough at Goodwill to make down everything, because my Hommies didn't know what the good stuff was, like what I marked down. And, the Bosses wouldn't let me run the register, or I'd have a Big Scheme going there. But, already at Goodwill and @CS, I probably made $2500 to $3500 monthly on what I helped them get for cheap.

Sadly, this is nothing new. I worked at Walmart back in 2009 and I always saw empty or half eaten food boxes/containers stuffed into the racks.

@@PoeLemic Do you have a job? I know it's about impossible to have a job if you are a single parent with kids. It's super hard with two parents in the house, but a bit easier because you can work opposite shifts. That's what my husband and I did when our three kids were younger.

When I worked at Walmart I saw a Loss prevention officer apprehend a teen for eating Chicken in the store without paying. The teen asked his two friends to help him. The 2 friends continued to walk away without even looking back at their friend.

Well, even those of us with jobs can't always afford groceries. It has absolutely nothing to do with buying expensive things or extras either, we never have. That absolutely does not excuse this kind of behavior!! We get help when we can, including going to food banks if we have to, but we have NEVER stolen!
These people are raised on the welfare system they have no idea what working for money is. They may sell drugs for extra money but never work. Unless stealing cars, stealing from store, breaking into house, is work. They are just the roaches of society.

In Houston always! A few days ago, I noticed a mother who shopped for groceries and, she opened the cookies package and gave one to her little boy who can’t wait for anything. It’s called stealing. When, I was growing up and my parents didn’t do that way.

Buying online also isn't safe! I was watching the news about a woman who ordered a lot of food online using Walmart delivery and the guy who delivered her items stole a lot of products and also ate some of her food! It's a huge shame that so many people are so desperate and disgusting! 🤢
This has been going on for years, this is nothing new. The years I worked in retail I seen meat packages left empty, cooked food half eaten from deli bags, and containers and half eaten donuts etc left on shelves. Maybe if they imposed prison sentences for this behavior it would die down real fast.

When my kids were little I would open a box of cereal for them to snack on while I was shopping but I NEVER even thought of not paying for it. I will say that even now if I am so hungry while shopping I have opened something but ALWAYS pay for it. The only thing that I have done is taste one grape to see if they are sweet. The internet and world has gotten out of hand with tic toc and other social media platforms.
I don't even do that. If my kids are hungry or thirsty we go grab what they want, pay for it first, then they can consume it while we shop.

It really boils my blood to see and hear people blatantly eat food in grocery stores, super markets and curbside food stalls and then run off without paying. These types of people think that all the food that are on the shelves are free meals and that prices don't even matter. They should be charged with theft and food tampering

This isn’t new, we’ve been seeing these kinds for decades. They even eat in front of people.
This is why this is an uncivilized nation today. I was never raised to do stuff like that. Period. Eating food that you did not pay is stealing, and that should be treated as shoplifting. They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Period.
