My old grand pappie told me when I was a pup … there only two things to spend your hard earned money on….. Good footwear and a good bed… as if you not in one your in the other….. fair point I recon….
Ordered a pair after watching your review. Boots arrived this morning and very impressed with quality. Got them brand new with tags and spare lace from ebay, size 10l for £50, absolute bargain and if anyone is after the same size there's still 2 pairs available. Looking forward to getting out tomorrow to test them out and off course break them in. Thanks for the informative review.
A timely video as I’ve been using AKUs for a good while. Very comfortable but the lining has just gone on my current pair. Will be checking these out. Thanks Neil.
My biggest quibble with most walking boots is they cannot be resoled, so I use leather military surplus para boots that can be resoled with standard vibram soles
These can be resoled as well, but for the money it costs you might as well just buy a new pair. Well the cold weather ones can be resoled, not 100% about these.
These are decent boots, softer feel in the sole and footbed than Altberg / Haix, but designed for different use. The defender sole is easy to walk on and has a bounce to it, the leather upper is good to keep clean and takes polish well. For the money they are fantastic light and hard wearing boots.
Just found your channel and subscribed.👍 I’ve not long been given a box fresh new pair of these and I look forward to seeing how they compare to my worn out Altberg Warrior summer boots. They seem to be breaking in well and although I prefer a rand they seem to be ok and time will tell how resilient they are. Plus it saves wear on my beloved Altberg Bergen boots, which although fit like slippers tend to cook my feet and make them sweat from spring to autumn.
I have the desert boot made by this company, really well made and comfortable. I wear them at work and walk for miles in them (I'm a postie ) 4 months of solid wear and they've held up amazingly well. Definitely a brand I'll be buying again
I am enjoying my new Iturri Patrol boots. My new job will be putting these puppies to the test. They feel great right out of the box, so i can only imagine them getting more and more comfy as they wear in. Love your channel, mate! I’ll let you know how they break in!!! Cheers!!!
I bought a pair of han-wag (Hans-Wagner) non-Gortex boots many years ago for about £200 and they have been polished about fifteen times and worn way less for the same reason, they are far too good to ruin, calf-skinned lining, 3mm leather, such beautiful boots I cannot/will not abuse them. They are still in the original box with the original spare laces and long they will stay there, I have many boots to abuse first. These are Spanish boots (I have these also) and are no longer issued, they have been replaced with AKU boots which are only part leather but these Iturri boots are very good and very comfortable, warm and look smart whatever you are wearing, I got mine New £70 and are worth the money.
Great review buddy just bought some in size 14 suprgrade aswell. From ebay so happy days I've also got 2 pairs of haix boots desert and cold weather versions has some sf karrimor combat but there 13 and too tight really which I'm gutted about
Clean the exterior regularly and treat them with something like Leder-Gris to keep them waterproof. I apply three layers to new boots, applied half an hour apart and buffed before applying the next layer; after that, a new layer as and when required. You do not need to clean the interiors.
I wear boots on the daily for at least 12-16 hrs, and I have for over 30 years. I walk on steel and concrete all day as well as up and down ladders and stairs. I average around 25 miles a day. If ya wanna know if boots hold up these are some of the worst conditions there is. I've seen people try to cheap out on boots with these conditions. It never ends of well. I know my boots are heavy and composite toe. In over 30 yrs I have NEVER had a blister with Wolverines. The style I wear are about $225 usd, but I get around 2 years out of them. In the woods I am pretty much in Merrels or my heavier camo waterproof Wolverines. The softness of the leaves and earth are nowhere as abusive as the the aforementioned conditions. I will give these boots a look though.
My boys in the army n keeps me advice on good boots I've got ituri high rand boots, altberg, haix,& karrimor sf all fantastic boots for the right job top benefits of buying second hand is cost & some poor sod has taken the hurt of braking them in for you keeping them waterproof plenty of boot polish & on my haix desert boots plenty of swade blossom waterproof spray so after a good walk in the rain etc the only dry bit is your feet brill advice thanks Neil 👍
Just had 8hrs in the rhinogs.. Feet got soaked.. Had to wring the insoles out. Pretty sure all that water didn't enter through the top. Looked to me as though the foam outsole was sucking it up, I could be wrong, feet were soaked though. They are comfortable.. Like trainers.
I have had mine on year round. All boots slip on ice, but these have been excellent. We had no snow last winter to really test them in that environment, but to be honest I would use a heavier boot in those conditions.
Don't they look ever so much like the old Scarpa Attacks. I died a little bit when I retired my Scarpas after almost 20yrs. I am going to look out for these.
Thanks Neil, Always looking out for us cheapscates 😁. How is the sizing? Pretty consistant relative to other brands? I'm always a bit leery about buying footwear online.

Altberg resole, I think scarpa do too.
@@OverlandTTAltberg want around £70 to resole!

They are great boots, I have two pairs and wear them everyday. The best boots I have ever owned.
I am having trouble finding a second pair in my size. 13L if you have a lead, i would be immensely grateful.
Thanks for the review looking to replace my altbergs now so will have a look.
I have had the issue altbergs, and I thought they were great.....until I got these. Do yourself a favour and get a pair

I need some new boots. These are perfect. Thanks for tip.
Neil , good review ,thanks for sharing ,God bless !
All good Neil. They must've got issued after I left. Look good though.
I play woodland airsoft, so do lots of jogging ect. Would these be too warm in the summer?
I am in the woods year round and they have served me well
I’ll have look at them thanks
Hi Neil could you please advise how do these boots run to size?
How do you clean the boots, to make sure you don't get infections or germs , athlete foot etc..
Clean the exterior regularly and treat them with something like Leder-Gris to keep them waterproof. I apply three layers to new boots, applied half an hour apart and buffed before applying the next layer; after that, a new layer as and when required. You do not need to clean the interiors.

Look good but for me no rand no deal for the woods or the upper leather is trashed in weeks!
How do these compare to the Altberg's?
Lighter and softer
I'm looking at a pair of these. What are they like, size wise? Seen a couple of forums, where they recommend going a size up from normal.
I have a 9 foot size and the 10 medium fits with enough room for a thick and thin pair of socks
So we think these are waterproof?

Stink like trainers too when wet. Reminding me why I had previously switched to leather outer AND leather lined.
Been working dubbin into the patrol boots. They're keeping the water out better now.
Hi Neil! How good are these boots for winter? Do they slip on ice?
I have had mine on year round. All boots slip on ice, but these have been excellent. We had no snow last winter to really test them in that environment, but to be honest I would use a heavier boot in those conditions.

I have had these for about a year now (surplus, new, £70) and they are one of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn, good luck.

They come up a bit small, get some Altberg tabbing boots better quality and the fit is much better and you can get half sizes too 👍🏻
Karrimor boots are decent i use myself on camps..sheepskin soles
