Floor being locked down was hard for her. She loves so much being on that stage and she truly thrives there. I love the song, and people on the metal side need to understand she has both inside her. Yes she is a Metal Goddess and she is also is a lover of Music. This is not at all about leaving Nightwish or metal, she loves them both to death. Very good reaction.
It is indeed all about leaving Covid behind and ignite the fading spark of life again. Burn the couch you was forced to sit in for the last couple of years. Floor showed it to Tuomas and he liked it. She definitely wants to broaden her musical horizons and she also intends to tour with her solo stuff besides Nightwish as time allows.
This is a very well crafted power pop song, actually a little heavier than I expected. And yes, the message is about dealing with covid.
The video is made here in Finland with all Finnish crew (see the info box below the original video). Floor lives now in Sweden, but she has lived in Finland about one year in Joensuu (2014-2015). ⛄👍
One thing I think she's really good at, that I haven't seen directly discussed in any of these reaction videos, is building anticipation/making you want more. It's in how she sings the first verse, particularly in the prechorus where she sings each word just slightly after the exact beat - and then when she pulls back at the end of the second chorus, just before the breakdown, and teases just these little wisps of vocalization during, so when she comes in again in the last chorus it's just so damn satisfying

First of all, I appreciate your reactions. Speaking of Floor's performance, I have long waited for her to reach this point, of writing and singing her own songs. She has a gift and from this I know we can expect future treasures from Floor as she continues down this exciting path. Oh I grew up just north of Seattle :-)

When you talked about the love and joy of/for performing i imidiatly thought of Floor performing the Nightwish song Elan at her solo show in Amsterdam. The pure joy, the interaction with the Nightwish fans who were there, realy so special. Clive Matthews suggested Face Your Demons (same show) and i fully agree. Its a must (imho) from her first band After Forever. Vocal firework, acting firework, performing fire. Yes you can see she mist it so much, so much!
Yup, the song is a reference to what we've all been going through these past couple years. Floor has talked about her Dog/Wolf natures both needing nourishment. The homebody "Dog" has had her fill over the recent past but her hunting "Wolf" desperately needs to prowl the stage once again. I love seeing that the band (Tuomas, I'm assuming) left a note on Facebook saying, "We Love it!". So do I.

Performers, and other artists, have had difficult times! As a visual artist, I have not been able to put any of my artwork into exhibits. Then I injured my back so, I am not able to sit up and paint. I get quite frustrated not being able to be creative!
So, I get my creative fix by listening to music. There is only one other very famous female vocalist that has touched me in the way Floor has...and you have to go way back into the late 1960's into the '70's to find a gal that had an exceptional voice...and her brother was instrumental in getting her to sing, instead of playing drums! The one and only Karen Carpenter. I remember crying when I heard she died from complications due to eating disorders. And I am a "hard rock/heavy/Symphonic Metal enthusiast from way back...like back in the mid 1960's, when I was 8 years old! My best friend and I used to do our homework while listening to Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Nazareth, Steppenwolf, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath with Ozzy Osbourne...etc!
I am 64 and still listen to my music quite loud, have my 6 CD player in my SUV loaded with Nightwish, Boston, Daughtry, Foreigner, and Alan Parsons Project.

The next James Bond film will be named "Fire". I really agree to your interpretation of the lyrics. But I think it is also going a notch deeper. Remember she also had depressions and bun out long time ago. And then she entered Nightwish and rediscovered her "Inner Fire" again. With this song, she invites everybody to (re)discover your own passions and fire.
