Sir, your video "Game over - Pattaya is changing forever now" is a masterpiece. It should win an award for being a #1 documentary of Pattaya. Everything was perfect, the scenes, your words, the background music. I have not seen such a work of art on RUclips for a long time. Be proud of yourself sir. I hope someone from RUclips staff see's this and adds it to "Trending"

Yes all is sad too see, I'm afraid no one knows the answer. Been going to pattaya since about 2004 but this year we're giving it a miss, too many hurdles to jump just to gain entry. I realise this is happening all over the world. I have a thai wife and we live now in England. My wife is a british citizen now. I'm 60 and thinking about retirement now, but maybe this may come in a couple of years time. Stayed down jomtien many times so know it well. Do you own your own condo around there ? Got lots of things floating around my head at the moment, but for now we are happy here. Bri and frei east Yorkshire.

It is game over for Pattaya. The new "long stay" visa is going to fail because people don't want to pay the ridiculous quarantine prices. Secondly, the junta will shut the borders again at the slightest hint of new infections or transmissions. There are also some people, high up in society waiting to buy the buildings in Pattaya when the landlords default on the rent, getting a valuable building in a good location very cheap.
Girls are now asking higher prices than pre covid, and the baht is tied to the USD so will remain strong, so it will be more expensive. Bars are closing daily, keys being handed back and girls going elsewhere to work.
Pattaya is finished guys, totally and utterly finished and Thailand is not far behind it either.

    • @chrisjuricichxl5

Nah. There is no shortage of poor, desperate attractive Thai women who will be drawn back to that area, nor is there a shortage of horny, desperate, seedy men who will flock to the area. Yes, the bars or whatever will reopen because, also, there is no shortage of people who will know how to flip a buck out of the horny, desperate expats and tourists who will come. For me...I have no interest in visiting Pattaya but it doesn't mean I'm not a horny guy potentially. I'd just rather see the rest of the country. I have no objection to men and women coming to terms for their sexual transactions.

Pattaya will back once the boarders open, the only problem is the poverty, pain and suffering that the people have to go through, until it does. But Pattaya will rise again.

So sad. Was there in March and April this year and saw the changes. Not overnight, but changed so fast. Was only meant to be there for a week before heading north but transport was cancelled. If anything, the despair I saw was heart breaking. And your video shows the despair I will never forget.

It’s sad to see my favourite place on earth look like this but Pattaya has survived many hardships including the gfc while bars may change hands and those long standing bars those mighty vanguards maybe fall away but something new will come in and take there place. I truly think Pattaya will always be Pattaya it’s just a time of change it will rise again the moment western countries open up and allow travel. Many people will flock to Pattaya and walk down that amazing neon lit street and get lost in the endless sois. Pattaya was built on pleasure and fantasy. That’s why I made my first trip but it’s not the reason I have returned time and time again Pattaya captures more then just fantasy it is a place that feels like home to many it can a break from reality but also has the potential to be your reality should you wish it. Thai people Thai culture and the city of Pattaya maybe down but they are certainly not out. Not when there are literally millions of people from every walk of life just waiting to return. It will be a slow recovery but recover it will

Don’t forget that this kind of place will always exist in the world. When things are back to normal, it’s more likely that a place like Pattaya with the roots already established to be the place that gets going again, as opposed to a new city that has never seen this scale of nightlife. Have faith, things will get back eventually.

Sad sad to see my favorite city bleeding out like this. That said there is too much demand and money for pattaya to die off. It exists because it’s unique. It will never become another Thai beach resort or a locals place. The beach sucks and Thai only visit as a day trip or on holiday. Once there is a vaccine or Thailand realizes staying closed means economic death of the entire country they will open again and the tourists will return. Of course just how bad will it be and how long to rebuild is the question.
