  • Following more than 60 arrests on the campus of UC San Diego early Monday morning, those taken into custody have been released after many of them were booked at the Central Jail in downtown San Diego.
Outside the jail, a couple hundred supporters of those arrested gathered to demand their release, saying that these protesters were exercising their freedom of speech peacefully.
As they were released, many of the protesters received cheers and applause from the crowds of supporters waiting for them.

The encampment inhibited absolutely nobody from going to class until UCSD decided to shut down all of campus and move classes online so they could incite violence on their students. As a student who goes there and visited the encampment multiple times, it was refreshing having such a big presence of organized community at a school that already gets a bad rep for being “socially dead”. Whether you share the same views or not, the point still stands in that UCSD admin let unarmed protesters (young college STUDENTS might I add) get violated and be subject to large amounts of brutality on a campus they PAY thousands of dollars to attend every single year. We have a right to be able to decide what our money contributes to, and we should have never been penalized for that.

im a student. i was not part of the protest. all the time the camp was there - it was peaceful. it did not pose any danger or threat to anything or anyone. chancellor and the city abused power, by using brutal force with gunmen and snipers against peaceful students, who were exercising their first amendment right. i signed an open letter today, along with hundreds of students and faculty stating that. i can witness this in any court if needed. this was an abuse of power against unarmed young americans, doing what every american supposed to do freely - peacefully expressing their opinion.

The U.S., British, and Israeli governments, and those who support them, are all equally guilty. They are not qualified to condemn other countries for their conflicts and aggression.

Careful though. Referring to the whole 'people' to criticize the actions of the portion that chose to hide behind the guise of antisemitism is just adding to the problem. The Jewish people are not represented by the Israeli government, and the few ridiculously entitled people claiming these unnecessary insulations should be treated as the problem they are, rather than as part of a people they do not properly represent.

@@sevensages5279 The distinction is absolutely worth making, because as it stands, the original comment is exactly in line with what they are trying to bait out. They bait responses like that, which don't properly distinguish between entitled distortionists and the overall Jewish people, because then they have the easy argument against antisemitism that they wanted. In reality, they just want people to reply with hatred that is easy to counter. But calling them out for who they really are is more valuable to society because then more people will understand and start ignoring their rhetoric and actually moving toward helping people.

The Christian and Druze Lebanese produce a cannabis resin that is sought after, but for a decade now the Jewish Israelis have been producing a cannabis resin that is gaining in popularity. The Muslims had for long the upper hand as the resin produced in Marocco was highly reputed, but though quality is still found, lately adulterated resins caused a decline in trust.
I opine that lsrael is poised to become a leader in the market, but l do not deny the potential Switzerland has. If we talk about cannabis buds, certainly Israel has what it takes to be at the top, but Canada seems better placed currently. The USA is fairly well-placed to keep being the leader though, but the Dutch, notably via the seed banks Green House and Dutch Passion are able to vie. Sadly for the Dutch, the Netherlands fell behind and now the USA took over as the leader about buds. About resin, a cooperation between lsrael and India could produce wonders.
White Widow, by Green House, comes from a Brasilian variety crossed with a South lndian one. I am certain that one of those robust varieties found in the Neguev, crossed with varieties from Haryana or Kerala, may well lead to an interesting hybrid. Landraces must be preserved, but hybrids do have benefits too.
I think that lsrael will get the medal, about resin. Buds... Well, Uruguay and Germany may create the surprise. Most Sadly, France is impaired by his cocaine-addicted president, Macron, but the French could be the best in the domain. As it stands, they stand little to no chance to win the Cannabis Cup. Afghanistan has landraces that are highly valued, but the Afghans do not make a resin that is of interest.
To me, unless foes from within can mar its chance, Israel will emerge as a leader in both medical and recreational cannabis in the years to come.

Remember seeing Tiananmen Square protest. Thousands of students were sitting in the streets for weeks and months without leaving. Many starved themselves to demand the ccp to step down. They were peaceful and yet met with harsh military crack down. What did they do wrong ? What did pro Palestine students do wrong if they were only camping on a lawn? Health concerns? Or is it just an excuse to get rid of them? Who makes the university rules? What makes this nation different from authoritarian states if peaceful protest like occupying a patch of lawn within a school isn’t even allowed? What is allowed then?
