I was using the CP100s for awhile but switched to foam and then finally to Dunu S&S. With the Dunus i find them perfectly comfortable. When they were new I found the bass to be overwhelming but that settled down. I thought it was a pretty dramatic example of burn in. I also found that changing the cable made a very noticeable improvement. I do also find they can become a bit muddled or congested on busy songs, and on airy live tracks they can be sibilant or excessively echoey, but generally I quite like them now, more than the other sets that I've tried at home (Letshuoer S12 Pro, Simgot EM6L, Thieaudio Elixir, Moondrop Kato). I've also listened to several other more expensive iems at local shops (Meze Advar, 64 Audio U4S, Vision Ears Ve2, and Sennheiser ie600) and while all those sounded better based on the brief time i had, i didn't think they were anywhere near 3 or 4 times better.
Appreciate this review. The Quintet was specifically an IEM I was looking at as an upgrade from the Ikko OH10 and Final Audio A4000. Any chance you could do one of the Dunu SA6 line?
Dunu actually reached out before the holiday a few days ago, and I wrote them back but haven't heard anything because of the holiday. I can tell you I have heard the sa6 og and 2 and the Mirai. All three would be ones I hope to take a look at. I like all three. I think I may prefer the og as the most neutral in comparison, but the Mirai has better mids. The sa6 mk2 is warm, but the flashiest.
Been going back and forth with the quintet. I think they sound pretty good and it definitely requires some adjusting. Kiwiears definitely hit it out the ballpark with the driver configuration.
I generally only speak to technical performance unless otherwise stated. It would be impossible to account for all possible adjustments, but I do a pretty thorough job in my testing process of trying everything I can think of before delivering any conclusions. If you have cracked the code on adjustments you think, feel free to share them here so that others in the community can try them out. I would have to hear it to consider it, but, in anycase, I'm happy you've found something you can be happy with. Thanks for sharing, commenting, liking and subscribing.
I do experience the same with the comfort of this set. It is not very comfortable. However, your sound description of the IEM makes me think that you probably received a bad unit. To me, the treble is almost too bright, but comes with an excellent extension and a big soundstage for an IEM. Great video as usual though
I can assure you that my "take" is one of the few accurate ones out there. I don't report misguided subjective findings, but qualitative sound assessments. Thanks for commenting and watching!
@@intoitreviews this IEM should be in the same ballpark as the Zero: Red and Gizaudio Chopin. What was your take on those? Others who reviewed them didn't find the Quintet so out there in comparison.
Those two IEMs you just mentioned aren't even even in the same ballpark of each other much less this one. It seems your understanding of the performance of these IEMs are either misguided by poor RUclips reviewers (which isn't surprising) or perhaps you lack discernment in your hearing if believe they sound similar; that is presuming you've actually heard all three? I have a review of the Zero Red that was posted a while back that should be easy to find. I encourage you to watch it as well to understand the true performance of that IEM as well. There will be a review of the Chopin up on the channel in roughly a month too, that review's evaluation was actually completed today. You can look out for that one as well. Best of luck to you in your audio journey.
@@intoitreviews look at the measurements posted by nearly everyone--they *are* in the same tuning ballpark. I will check out your take on the Chopin, interesting timing on that.
Measurements are a tool, not an indication of all aspects and characteristics of audio performance. If you have been told otherwise, then you have been mislead. Following this channel, the people's channel, is one of the few ways not to be mislead here on RUclips. Otherwise, it is the wild, wild West out there. Best wishes, again.
Great to hear your take on this set. I have always been on the fence about this set. I’m moving on. Better sets to keep on my radar.
Thanks so much for your video. I really enjoy your reviews

Glad you found something that works for you
Is there any possibility to hear your opinion about *Aune* *AR5000?*
We would greatly appreciate your impressions.
One of those was just sent into the channel a few days ago actually. I will likely talk more about it on discord soon.

I liked the Quintet more then the Quartet
Lol surely, I've been avoiding that one. Orchestra lite seems like a one hit wonder with kiwi ears so far.
Your take is so different than everyone else's. Almost like you had a defective IEM or some phase issue.
