    So OSIS in english means students council
    While Mading which an acronym from Majalah Dinding, that means Wall Magazine, but usually in indonesia we put the picture, activities report, classes achievement, not exactly on the wall but on the board, but it's still called wall magazine
    the picture and memories you see in bebas cover video, it was a wall magazine a whole time, and a picture of ollie that you said dressed as a manager actually was a student council uniform

    • @chillbydesign
      @chillbydesign  Год назад +6

      Thank you for the explanation! So the Mading is like a memory board where the pictures are posted! I am glad to learn of this, I think it's a great idea they created school memories together! It feels nostalgic :)

      @UDesu16 Год назад +1

      for more context, Mading here is also the name of an extra curricular club. its like a journalist club in other country which here the members will post something on the board provide by school.
      not only pictures, we also can post anything related to school activities, article, to something like trivia which will enrich students knowledges by reading it
      well, just think of it instead of newspaper or speaker, we use board as media of information

    Indonesia is a federation of many states, and they tend to have their own unique languages, so it is my understanding that, by default, they learn their own local languages and Indonesian, the common national language. Iofi, for instance, is also fluent in Sundanese, a local language that others not from that state cannot understand. On top of these, most Indonesians also learn at least one foreign language as well, this explains why the ID division has so many polyglots.

    • @chillbydesign
      @chillbydesign  Год назад +12

      I am secretly jealous of other school systems that teach multiple languages. In America, we are given the choice to learn one other language in high school, but for someone like me who filled every semester full, I could not fit an extra class for language in. Before High School, there is no slot for a language class. I regret not learning!

      @@chillbydesign While I do not discount the likelihood that some people are predisposed at mastering languages, I do have a sneaky suspicion that, most people are able to master at least two, if there's a need in their daily lives for it, and the education system supports it. Iofi is able to handle more than a handful of languages, and getting better at a few others, but there are indications that she has a family background that could afford to let her pursued whatever she wanted, I think there are no shortage of people envious of her.

      @@chillbydesign My jealousy comes also from the selection of languages. When I was in school, my only options were Spanish, French, or German. It's hard to learn a language that you have literally no interest in.

      @@chillbydesignSchools in Indonesia study several language subjects (Indonesian and English are compulsory), depending on which region you go to you will learn the regional language for example Iofi who is good at Sundanese and Risu who can speak Javanese, then you will learn one other foreign language besides English (depending on what language your school provides), when I was in high school my school provided Korean, Spanish, Mandarin, and German options, and I chose Spanish, but because I went to school in Jakarta (the capital of Indonesia) so we did not have regional language lessons and instead we studied History, Culture, and Social Jakarta.
      This means that in Indonesian schools we learn at least 4 languages (Indonesian, English, local language, and one other foreign language option).

    Indonesia is a big country with 3 timezone, 17 000 island and more than 1 000 ethnic group(we call it "suku bangsa").
    lagu= song, daerah= region, so lagu daerah is regional song(no really accurate i think) its from:
    Sik Sik Sibatumanikam - Lagu Daerah Sumatera Utara
    Kicir Kicir - Lagu Daerah DKI Jakarta
    Cublak Cublak Suweng - Lagu Daerah Jawa Tengah
    Bungong Jeumpa - Lagu Daerah Aceh
    Apuse - Lagu Daerah Papua
    bebas cover from iwa k, in Indonesia's independence day. because bebas also mean freedom.
    hope it help. love your reaction. ^^V

      indonesia is on GMT+7~+9 while Japan is +9. so we indeed have the same timezone as Japan in eastern part of Indonesia (Maluku and Papua Island). but from the clock while on stream, I think all of Holo ID girl is on GMT+7
      also for better translation
      Sumatera utara = North Sumatra
      Jawa Tengah = Central Java
      also I watched some video on YT said that Indonesia is actually as big as a whole Europe combine together

    They originally covered Bebas as a celebration for the Indonesian Independence Day (August 17th) like the medley (medley for the celebration in 2021, bebas in 2022, i think!). Then there was a little polling/voting thing in the bebas MV because it's related to the 3-part story they made as a celebration too (it was about the OSIS (Ollie, Kaela, Zeta) wanting to shut down the mading club (Reine, Kobo, Anya, Risu, Iofi, Moona) because no one's interested in joining the club. So they made a polling/voting thing so the the other "students" can vote who they agree with, the OSIS (shut down the mading club) or the mading club (keep the mading club going)).

    "Bebas" meaning "Free/Freedom" was a song that popularized Indonesian rap way back in the day! The song's about… I think basically the youthful spirit of camaraderie with friends, being free & optimistic despite hardships.
    Thanks for the vid! I actually like the format of putting written reaction in addition to verbal reaction; I get how words sometimes come out way later rather than in the moment so you can't capture it on first reaction
