No, he was not. To just say something does not make it true. Last season Lamar threw 26 td passes. To say Derrick Henry has not massively assisted Lamar would, again, not be true.
FR. This is what kills me and I keep telling people the key to BAL taking advantage of this opportunity is to run their O through LJs running ability. They are 2-5 this year when he passes 30+ times and it’s NOT a knock on LJ because he can sling it, it’s a knock on the OC for deviating from the teams strength. They’ve been the NFL rushing leader 4x since LJ has been QB and top 3 every year, before DH has even been there. If they use LJs running ability other teams are at their mercy. He doesn’t even have to have big runs, it’s just the fact teams account for him that opens the whole O up.
@@stevejohnson7026he’s in year 2 with a coordinator that had Winston pass for 5k. His passing numbers increased because his volume increased but he’s still the same efficient passer he’s always been. He’s had a 36 to 6 ratio before too. Difference is Monken’s offense allows him to sustain this production. Hes been better when Henry has been off the field in passing situations.
@@Finnissee0122 yeah and the OC is too pass happy. He and DH should be on pace for 3000 yards rushing combined. The team has led NFL in rushing 4x since LJ has been QB. The run game is what will win or lose the SB not the passing game. But their relationship is symbiotic and each benefits from the presence of the other.
I’m really not understanding how they keep saying “it’s not even close”…like I know Josh will probably win it but how is it not close with the year Lamar’s having..and the Ravens beat Buffalo earlier this year..they’re only a game and a half apart… they just want to hand it to Josh soo bad it’s almost desperate at this point smh
Came here to say the same thing. Saying it’s not close is asinine. Derrick Henry also had the 2nd most rushing yards least year and how did the Titans look? People trippin.
Allen 37 TDs, Jackson 40 TDs Jackson less turnovers, more yards, more 1st downs, better rating. Yeah but it's not even close... Jackson will probably finish season with 45TDs lol remove him from Ravens and Ravens have a losing season.
While stats wise, you would think Lamar, there is an issue with comparing Lamar to Allen, and that is Derrick Henry. One of these QBs has a top 2 RB in the NFL which keeps the defense focused on them, allowing said QB to shine even more. Is Lamar the MVP or is it Henry in regards to best player on the Ravens? You could make a case either way and that is what hurts Lamar in the MVP conversation, as he has another elite player that is helping him out. Allen doesn't have anyone remotely close to that elite level on offense with him. Thus the Bills looking this good is really due to Josh Allen, while the Ravens success is by no means just because of Lamar, as Henry has carried them at times himself. Again, I'm not saying I wouldn't give the MVP to Lamar, or that Allen should get it (personally I would give it to Barkely with Philly), just saying why Lamar is going to have trouble getting MVP this year.
Oh they talk about us when we win..it’s just never about how Lamar played for us to Win..it’s been Derrick Henry this..Derrick Henry that…I love king Henry but the media has been using him as Driving Force as to why we’ve been winning this year to Downplay Lamar..it’s Disgraceful
Ironically Henry carried this game with the Ground and pound so he deserves this praise…but they’ve been on about Henry even when Lamar has Balled out in past games this Season..The hate is real man..
Henry has the most yards before contact in his career…by a large margin. That’s due to the threat of Lamar as a Runner. Look at how the edge defenders are committed to LJ through the mesh.
Rex has been compromise with this cold take don’t blame the reason why lamar has been better because of a run game that’s not lamar’s fault . josh gotta be superman and still not outplaying lamar but josh allen got the best PR team in the country to get people to start this narrative
@@devontemarshall3838 Josh Allen benefits from James Cook as well! Allen stopped turning the ball over as much when they started running the ball more..
Lamar is the last QB to be penalised for playing with talent. This is the first years he’s playing with a loaded deck, and that’s still without ever playing with true WR1 like Tyreek, Chase, Higgins, Diggs or Hopkins, etc. He’s proven he can play at an MVP level with much of a supporting cast and now he’s proving he can make the most of good talent too - Henry is feeding off what teams give up to contain Lamar, just look at his stats. Lamar 6-3 VS winning teams. Allen is 3-3 on a much easier schedule. Ravens are 10-5, 0-5 when Lamar has a passer rating BELOW 114. He’s averaging over 120 on the season. Allen is averaging a passer rating of 102 on the season. He’s 4-2 when he throws BELOW 102. Lamar leads him in almost every statistic and is having an historically great season on the most penalised team in the league with the worst defence in the league. He’s the real MVP
Ravens play in the AFC North, a tougher division steelers, bemgals twice a year. Bills play the jets and Patriots twice this year and a struggling dolphins team. I dont get how they never mentioned that part. And they try to diminish Lamars season a lot. When he threw 5 TDs against the Giants. They blew it off cause it was the Giants. But allen struggled against the Patriots and barely got a W.
They don’t care about stats I see. Josh Allen stats are 3549 passing yards with 26 tds and 6 ints. Lamar Jackson passing yards 3787 passing yards with 37 tds and 4 ints. Yet Rex Ryan saying it’s not even close Josh Allen should wib it when Lamar stats are far better than his goes to show you how bias the media is

Lamar opens up holes for Henry to run through with Lamar’s ability to run himself. Derrick is a nice addition but Lamar would be successful without him and he has proven that in the past with two MVP’s.
BAL pretty much put their confidence in the receivers they already had and so far it's panning out lol. Zay getting 1k yards is huge and Bateman finally being what they expected them to be. MAndrews being himself and an emerging Likely. I honestly think this makes them more dangerous because you can't just focus on one person like a Chase/JJ/etc
Dan never tries to give credit to Lamar. Trying to give Derrick Henry all the credit when the Ravens have been the top rushing team since Lamar became the starter. He’s a clown.

@@bly7181 Lamar might not have had the greatest stats but he was the best player on the field every single game and showed out against dominant teams with winning records, especially on prime time
So, Lamar leads or is top two in every QB statistical category and could be only the second QB in NFL history with 40+ TD passes and 5 or less INTs; but it's not close? The Ravens SOS is 4th best, while Buffalo's is 21st. Lamar was essentially eliminated from the MVP conversation after his poor performance against the Steelers in Week 10, but yet Josh had a worst statistical game against the Patriots yesterday and also had one of the lowest completion percentages in NFL history when he went 9/30 against Houston. I also know that the media was assuming the Ravens would lose out after the Giants game, finish 9-8, and then they could use their record discrepancy as another factor to propel Allen to the MVP; but there's a chance they finish 1 or 2 games apart in the final standings. Just odd how Josh is running away with the MVP, yet almost every statistical category is in Lamar's favor. Also, let's not even discuss that 3 of the Ravens 5 losses are from missed FGs/XPs

0:30 FINALLY an analyst who talks actual football. I keep telling people the issue has been the OC has forgotten who BAL is and what LJ brings to the table. If you utilize motions along with LJ in the DESIGNED running attack with zone/read options, teams are at their mercy. It creates opportunities where eventual LJ or DH will break a huge one and it opens the passing game. But more importantly, it keeps defenses accountable to LJs running ability with extra defenders and they get off balance. And it keeps TOP in BALs favor. It’ll be hard to beat them if they have the ball most game. This is the SECRET.
Rodgers last MVP season 4100+ pass yds, 37 tds 4 ints, 111 passer rating. Lamar this season 3787pass yds, 37 tds, 4 ints, 120 passer rating, with 2 games to play & approx 800 rush yds. Don't ever say MVP is "not even close". Lamar is the best QB this year & it's not that close.
Last year he got gifted that mvp, I think that made people undervalue him this season. He clearly has had the best season. But ain’t no denying he’s been gifted one 🤷♂️
I didn't see the game between but seeing the stats between Lamar and Allen and the score... tells me that Allen was horrible and was carried by his team against a team who is horrible compared to the Steelers... so tell me how is it not close?
Lamar also LOST to 2 of the worst teams in the nfl so you cant really talk about a bad win to a bad team lamar lost 2 bad games to a bad teams ill give you a pass because 1 of them was a division game and division games are really anything can happen games sometimes. which is what happened to the bills yesterday in a bad win

@ go look at his first MVP numbers

@@MisterNobody-b5h all facts 💯
It's amazing how they will constantly talk about lamar whenever Baltimore lose but nothing when they win

Henry had 62 more yards on the ground, and 13 more carries. Cook helps for sure, but Henry helps more

Rex acting like the threat of Lamar isn't helping Henry
