Great video! I'm glad the crash wasn't too serious. Happy trails
Thanks! It was a pretty delicate crash as far as they go but - spoiler alert - a much bigger and messier one is coming soon!...
@@GoRUFFLY oh, no! Well, I'll be sure to catch the next one. I assume you survived since you're answering comments 😉
Love seeing your vids, keeps the passion alive for when we thaw out in Wisconsin lol
Thank you so much for that, pamela - you'll be back out there together soon!
👏👏👍👍
Don't you love how Whimsy's tail was wagging after the crash?!?
Doggo's and motorcycles, what is there not to love?
Couldn't agree more. Glad you liked it!
@@GoRUFFLY I will be purchasing a dog carrier next year. I have been searching sidecars, and trailers to carry my 85-90lb service dog, and this is the best option I have found. The simplicity of the design also makes it very strong.
Come to India 🇮🇳 your channel more then growing........❤❤❤❤❤❤
That's our plan to come to India. Once we get through South America, Africa, and Europe, we are coming your way!
@@GoRUFFLY MOST welcome 🙏 bro's 💖💖
I search ADV crash videos to study the reasons for this epidemic in the motorcycle (you tube world). I could only find one drop, calling it your first and you are glad you got it out of the way etc. Understandable, but what I read into that is that you expected to crash at one point or another. Without saying dropping a bike....heavily loaded (with a dog) can go either way injury wise. Looks like you got away with it, and your dog too...strapped in and helpless...and extremely vulnerable to head injury. Looks like you are both having a good journey though, but I will not hide the fact that you didn't really acknowledge the drop as something you need to not ever do again. A simple error of engine stall, going to slow being the cause was actually what I would call a big mistake, and worthy of some reflection on the seriousness of your endeavor , including the risk your dog is under, given the apparent likelihood of this happening again....Crashes can go either way, the shear weight and dynamics of these machines makes them....extremely dangerous. a simple reminder.
Thank you for your interest and feedback about the crash. I am constantly striving to improve my riding technique but pushing beyond my comfort zone means that a get-off is inevitable and to be expected. To that end, I think most off-road trainers and experienced travelers agree that it's a question not of 'if' but 'when'. So, yes, you're exactly right to read into it that I do expect to crash at one point or another. And that has been the case. While this was my first crash with Whimsy in her K9 Moto Cockpit, my previous German shepherd, Moxie, rode for 50,000+ km with me and we experienced multiple crashes together, some of which we captured in other episodes on our channel. We designed the Cockpit based on these experiences and our earlier studies to maximize the dog's safety by being in the laying down position and protected within a cushioned roll-bar frame. We have loads of information about the safety features and design principles of the Cockpit on our website at www.goruffly.com/cockpit-resources/. So, thank you again for your interest, concern, and feedback!
