  • In the grand reveal of the 2023 Toyota Crown Platinum, it's evident that this sedan is more than just a luxurious ride-it's a testament to Toyota's pursuit of automotive excellence. From its lineage dating back to 1955 to its present-day 16th generation, the Crown has evolved, replacing the Avalon while embracing its identity as a powerful, sophisticated contender. With three distinct trims and a striking exterior featuring bold styling and premium comforts, the Crown commands attention. Inside, opulence meets innovation with a meticulously designed interior, cutting-edge technology, and a range of driving modes catering to every preference. Its performance, boasting two electrified powertrains and standard All-Wheel Drive, promises not just power but stability on the road. Despite varying efficiency and price points across trims, the Crown's true essence lies in its ability to redefine luxury, leaving a lasting impression that transcends expectations.

I don’t mind this car, Toyota is thinking out of the box. But as I understand it they are offering a more upscale utilitarian all wheel drive Hybrid car with a raised height (Much like the old AMC Eagle) which I think would work great in snow belt states and on dirt roads up to a cabin. But the biggest fail for me is that it isn’t a hatchback even though it tries to pass itself off as utilitarian. So now the niche that it’s filling gets even smaller. 🫤

Agree that a hatch would have just made it that much better. 👍

Out of curiosity, what are the things that would be better if this car was a hatch? I often see this exact same comment but I think I don’t really understand what it means.
