      I think it will sell a decent amounts of units but it's not popular as the ipad and overall is a little less convenient especially if you want to use it for illustrations only. For me this one is more for the people that want a tablet with a lot of office / notetaking productivity a good screen a less premium price than the ipad and Android on top and they are a lot . But overall i think some refurbished Ipad Pro 12,9 is better and even cheaper than this one . Other than that it's a wonderful tablet even the old s4 is very nice and it have pretty much the same performance of this one and it's cheaper . Just my 2 cent .

    • @danielwilliams3161
      @danielwilliams3161 5 лет назад +29

      No I think something needs to make a brand new OS that is only exclusive to Samsung and they have dedicated apps just like how I OS has lumafusion for create Studio Android is a great unique open source system but it lacks the fine and definition because there's so many devices in the works I mean you have huwawei you have something you have Vevo you have apple you have even unknown Panther just have Android under because Android so accessible now we need to find a way for Android to finally be secure or smartphone to finally be secure because having an Android is great but certain apps it's not is never going to be optimized perfectly like how lumafusion or pork create us basically apps that are only available for iPad and iPhone because poke is on iPhone

    • @danielwilliams3161
      @danielwilliams3161 5 лет назад

      You know what I don't think that it will be worth it now especially in the long run would that time and effort they got put in I'm plus it's going to be exactly the same as Eva iPhone or Android the reason why is because they've innovated so much to a point where is the norm like when they first launched it was back on I ain't took him a couple tries to get perfect it's still a perfect but it's way better off than it was back then so if a company I Samsung or huwawei what to make your own OS it's going to feel just like Nokia Windows and blackberry they don't have a charts because what are they going to do Samsung makes OS and what its I should care and perfect as iPhone Bop-It ones Android apps or is it going to be like Amazon you can get Android apps but you know only some she want saying that's the problem I don't think they really will be another OS perfect to each Android and Apple has gone so far because if someone does make OS it's going to be all apple and park Android because someone's going to try to think of something but it's already going to be a part of Apple's ecosystem or power off Android ecosystem like the three-finger swipe with a swipe up with a hold and switch like those wasn't part of the OS back in the day we had Barnes and now we don't so it's like not going to be possible

    Great tablet for basically everything. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxLNmVocUk8tnSkwWIlYSNFzWRIaFTBuzS I bought it specifically for art, and that 4k screen is really fantastic for it! Also has LOUD audio, even tho the speakers aren't in necessarily prime locations it really projects!You do need to get a case for this bad boy IMMEDIATLY though as it doesn't come with one.Battery life is really good! Standby time us FANTASTIC. This guy can go about a week on standby and be just fine. The screen is massive so the longer you have the screen on, brightness especially, it will effect battery life. I am very happy with it though!One thing that I didn't consider is that since the screen resolution is so high, viewing ticktocks/ reading webtoons can be slightly blurry. There is no way to turn down resolution either, so it just be like that.Would still judge this bad boi at 10/10 for my first tablet. I've had it 3 months now and its not shown any evidence of "slowing down" or anything. Love it!

    Artflow is always super smooth & dependable for line work & simple illustrations like yours. Their brush sizes don't get very big & they all mostly come out like lines, even the paintbrush ones. Infinite painter is the closest to being Photoshop on Android, even more than the drawing apps by Adobe. It's amazing for making painting-like digital art, like concept artwork for games, but it does use more memory and lags more when drawing big. Both are a necessity for me.

    Been a Samsung fanboy for years. Swore by them, but after a lot of initial resisting I finally went to the dark side and scooped up an iPad Pro 12.9 Gen 3 and fell in love. The drawing experience with the Apple Pencil, tablet, matte screen protector, and procreate is the best I've used. Complete game changer. I've had every note phone and tablet in hopes to have the capability to draw and possibly complete a project while on the go and they never did. I gotta give it to Apple without a doubt on this one, they nailed it. iPad pro is beautiful and very well built and the screen and interface is great.

    Great review, but somehow this did turn into a promotion for the Ipad :-) i agree with you and honestly I find the Galaxy Tab a way better device then the Ipad Pro and Android is way less restricting to work with, but a lot of apps aren't there yet. It's the reason I switched back to a Windows tablet, to enjoy full power again. I miss the quietness of the Tab though, no fans running.

This ipad is my first apple product and I don't regret it a little bit: because of good notes 5, procreate, and affinity photo. If samsung had those apps I would probably bought the s6. Lightning port is the WORST thing apple could do to this wounderfull tablet...

    Thanks for your review! I'm looking for a tablet for artwork, but I refuse to use Apple. I used to have iPhones and iPads for many years, but was always frustrated with how poorly they integrated with Windows for file sharing and syncing. Add to that the terrible multi-tasking of the devices and I gladly switched to the Samsung Note series phones and have never looked back. Now I own the Samsung Note 10+, Galaxy Watch and the Samsung Buds and I love all of the devices and they all perform much better than anything Apple offers. Procreate is often mentioned as being excellent for artwork, but I'm not going to buy an iPad just so I can start jumping through hoops again and get locked into the Apple store. Not sure why Procreate won't port their software to Android, but it's their loss since that's millions of dollars they are leaving on the table. Looks like the Tab S6 would be my best option and I'll just make do with the current Android drawing apps.

    In the course of several years of digital drawing, I had a considerable amount of pen enabled tablets, and sadly, none has come close to the iPad pro experience with Procreate app and Apple Pencil. Wacom companion tablet was chunky and Windows never really had a drawing app that was optimized for tablets, Android apps on the other hand had always some problems with accuracy for me (even the official Wacom bamboo pen for galaxy note series had an offset which drove me crazy). Overall I really hope that one day some other company (maybe Huawei?) will try to take on those two leaders (Samsung and Apple) with something they come up with.

    I bought the tab S4 a couple of weeks ago for back to school, as well as artwork. I was initially dead set on the s3 after seeing your review on it ages ago (it took me a while to save up), but when I started doing more research, I decided to go with the S4 as it was an $150 difference and for future proofings sake.
    I have absolutely no regrets. I have never owned a tablet before so I have nothing to compare it to, but I really like it. It's allowed me to be so much productive when it comes to art and note taking. The only things I've had issues with are the pen button (which you can easily disable) and occasionally the palm rejection.
    If price wasn't an issue, I still would've picked the S4 over the S6. The fact that the pen doesn't have to be charged, it has a headphone jack, etc are dealmakers for me. Thank you for all your help with these videos, Brad!

    I recently purchased the Samsung Tab 6 8gb ram 256Gb variant, I couldn't be happier with its amazing performance and more than 7ah battery endurance. I would suggest shopping around though, as some stores are offering tablet + cover deals. The cover is a must have to protect the tablet, safely store the pen and provides a (magnetically connected) useable keyboard and mousepad, even with my shovel-like hands its easy to use. Samsung's Dex mode offers an almost seamless windows-like experience with its android software compatibility, and resizeable multi-screen feature, which needs work to perfect, but in my opinion, is already leagues ahead of the competition.

    I enjoyed drawing on my galaxy tab s4 and prefer the S pen technology over Apple Pencil. Unfortunately the Samsung was underpowered when trying to draw large scale 4K images with Autodesk Sketchbook and would either severely limit the number of layers I could use or not open the illustration at all while the iPad Pro did it with 20 + layers without breaking a sweat. (Autodesk tech support blamed the limitation on Samsung and Samsung said it was a software limitation....big shock) So I had to return the Galaxy Tab s4 and go back to iPad. I’m willing to give the S6 a try if the new processor and increased ram can address these shortcomings.

    That'd be cool if you reviewed Windows art devices with AES 2.0 digitizers. I heard this technology is getting pretty good, maybe not EMR-level good though, but still good.
    There are just not much options for artists out there who want a portable art devices WITH Windows AND a good pen experience AND a sleek, thin, portable design.... except like...the Galaxy Book line with its godly EMR S-Pen. The only other options I can see are AES 2.0 devices, like Lenovo and their 2-in-1 laptops.
    Surface Pro is DEFINITELY not an option, with its cursed N-Trig...and the Cintiq Companions are too big I think (not to mention expensive).

    @msandersen 5 лет назад

    Nice fun review, brad. I noticed in your review at around 4:35 your scribbling seemed to have considerable lag; was this slow-motion? Didn’t seem like it. I didn’t get the impression from other review it was quite that laggy, unless you chose large brushes, even though they mention it isn’t quite as responsive as the iPad.
    I haven’t used an Android tablet since the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, I think about 2012. I tried out all the art apps, free and paid or Beta, including the ones you mention, like Infinity Painter. I was bitterly disappointed then, not just with the quality of the art apps and the feel or lack thereof of the brushes, but the lag of the pen; there was nothing remotely as good as Procreate or a few other apps I used on my old iPad 4, albeit without a pen. Then there was the fact no system updates were coming through, I expect the latest version of Android to become available, and as certain zero-day exploits appeared, including through the Play Store, I expected at least security updates. I thought I was doing something wrong, being new to Android. Unfortunately research led me to the realisation that Samsung had only ever released a minor update, then abandoned it. I was used to 5 years of regular updates from Apple on the iPad. Some interesting articles on Android Central etc talks DOF this problem across the board. With Google’s own Pixel, or whatever it used to be called then, they upped the stakes to 2 years’ support, double the industry average, and more than what Samsung seemed to do for their high-end tablets. While I’ve pulled it out to try it now and then, apart from being dated, it is dangerous to use one the Web, as tests have confirmed it is open to exploits that can be served up via JavaScript in ads or malicious webpages without any input from me. It just isn’t worth it. Since then the iPad Pro came out, and I’m still happily using the 1st gen 12” Pro, fully-updated and ready for iOS 13. So basically, I learnt a valuable lesson, and no amount of penny pinching makes it worth going back.

    I’d love to see an update on this review strictly using Infinite Painter. I’m ready to switch from an ipad pro (anything to get me away from the horrendous ipados and Apple in general) but I still need the hardware performance in drawing/painting that the IPP uniquely offers. If the Tab S6 has cut down on its latency, I’m in. The only caveat is the 60hz refresh of the screen, which remains an issue. The next Tab S needs to move to 120hz with dedicated graphics hardware. I don’t mind paying more than the S6 was at launch (but don’t want to pay ipad pro prices) in order to get better hardware, which other than their displays is where Samsung always seems to drop the ball.
