Thank you so much 🙏. My Chevy Spark used to stall when switched to LPG mode with AC turned on, lot of misfire. Mechanics I visited never diagnosed and provided right solution 😭. Glad I watched your video 😀 and tested engine coil pack just the way you did, found fault with 4th valve/coil, hence replaced it with new coil pack. Hi Gary its a Chevy, its got the quick intake hose mod and the classic wast spark system. How strange that one of the coils would go up in smoke and the others is still good. Some advise, check all HT leads and spark plugs. Their might be a reason for one coil failure. Great video thanks for the info and have a great year.
My chevy spark has a problem..first of all when i am driving and when i apply clutch for gear shift i can hear RPM goes a little up like 1.5k something... What could be the reason for that ... And the other problem is that when it switches to lpg mode sometimes engine stalls and sometimes it goes smoothly
It sounds like it could be the accelerator cable sticking if it has a cable, some are electronic accelerator, in this case, clean the idle control valve, that could be why it cuts out in lpg mode.

Good morning and happy new year Mr G My Spark 1.2 was smoking but driving well I was advised to change my rings and and velve stem seals after replacing all that it’s misfiring and revving high when I’m at stop signs then I was told to replace the coil pack I did that including new leads but still the problem is still there what can this problem be cause the car was driving way better with that smoking than now without the smoking pls advise! I’m so frustrated!!
Hi Desmond, thanks for the good wishes, sorry for your troubles, but it seems the car could be taking in too much air because the intake is not sealing correctly, hence the misfire and the high rev, have the guys check for leaks on the intake manifold, maybe the gasket is not sealing well or they may have mistakenly left off a vacuum pipe, or there may be a crack in the manifold, good luck.

Yes, and I bet the air hose broke because somebody did not want to undo the clamp to change the air filter. Hopefully you also got the new air inlet hose on back order.
@@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 Its ok. after using the video for confidence which did help I wasn't getting any spark from the first 2 connections on the new ignition coil pack. So I'm now going to replace the spark plugs and Ignition cables after I've marked them :) hopefully that helps or off to the pro`s I go I guess

There could be many contributing factors, such as faulty crank sensor, incorrect timing belt fitment, blocked fuel filters, dirty injectors, failing fuel pump, low compression, and the list goes on. I will check the fuel filter 1st, and make sure it is not dirty or blocked.

Hi Gary, I've replaced the coil pack, the wire on cylinder 2, the spark plugs.. the engine maintenance light is back on and now it revs on its own even in idle.. what would be the issue now?
It is most likely sucking air due to the intake manifold leaking or you may be left an air pipe off, Palesa. Check it with some water in a spray bottle, by spraying it onto the inlet manifold where it joins onto the engine.
Hi Gary, I recently had a diagnostic scan done on my Spark and it picked up a misfire and also a faulty thermostat. I replaced the thermostat and had new spark plugs put in. The problem now is that it immediately has high rpm when you start it...what could be the problem coz I'm on the verge of buying a new coil pack.
Trial and error Philly, even a diagnostic test will just say "misfire on cyl " it is up to you to determine if it is plugs, wires, coil, or compression.
The key is not coded to the ignition system, as the key has a chip in it, sometimes the coding goes out after the battery power was interrupted, or an electrical surge occurs, try your spare key 1st.

Nah these spark is a problem - mine over heats , i need to change my head gasket, which isnt easy to find . I refill antifreeze every 2 days *a full bottle* it has a clicking sound when i use the throttle . There is metal shards in my oil! I just cant anymore...
I do change the spark plugs first as most of the time your misfire comes from a dead parkply when you test the coil leads. Its a process of elimination really. I would go cheapest to most expensive replacement elimination process. Plugs, Leads, coil
Each car is different as you can see the Chevy Spark in the video requires one to remove the intake manifold to reach the spark plugs, so it makes sense to use the method I did for simple hassle-free diagnostics, I do agree with the method of elimination as that is what I base all my diagnoses on as it is common sense, thanks for your input Chriso it is greatly appreciated.

Make sure the Spark plugs and Plug leads are ok, if it is it could be a vacuum leak or burnt valves, or even a broken piston ring.

Make 100% sure the new coil is fine, I experienced new faulty units in the past.

Please mine has slow acceration and high fuel consumption but the engine is perfect what do you think might be the problem

The idle control valve needs cleaning or replacement, also check for any loose pipes on the intake manifold or a leaking intake manifold gasket.
My Chevy spark 1.2 LS 2014 has the same problem, ever since I did my car service, it normally starts with a high RPM, I'll check the Idle valve

Sorry to hear of your troubles, when these Chevy's are well maintained, they are not bad little cars.
Hw to take aut a starter from dis car
Disconnect the battery, locate the starter bolts, remove the connectors to the starter loosen the bolts and remove the starter.
