@@trym2121 Considering that the lens hasn't been released yet, I am confident that they will fix it prior to release. Moreover this lens hasn't been officially announced yet. The company has built a solid reputation for producing quality lenses; I doubt they want to destroy it with this small weakness. Considering how great the 50mm f/1.2 and 17mm f/1.4 have been, I can't wait to get my hands on this one, once it is fixed.
@@stevenaltiner6578 it really depends on which production stage the lens is. If they are only at sending some 100 samples then it's fine but imagine late stage of fixing ten thousands of lens by hand. You can imagine the QC madness and invariation due to that.
Thank you for the heads up! But I gave them permission to use the photos from this video for marketing, and frankly I am not that protective about my work in general.
Follow-up to my previous comment, i saw on another video that the metal barrel can be unscrewed, i did it and now the image does not get as dark when you're focusing in to 1:1, at least not as bad, also, I noticed that after the 0.6 mark, the image only gets magnified, the focus is not affected, you can't get closer from 0.6 to 1:1, it's just that the lens makes the subject appear bigger by zooming in optically, fascinating.
Thank you, i had bought the lens, but i thought it was really difficult to use for macro shots, after seeing the way you do it, i grabbed my small diffuser and tested both with a dedicated flash, and the in camera flash, the 2nd one gave me the best results, and now i feel competent enough to get some good shots with it. Otherwise, i would have thought about selling it due to the measly 4cm of range in the 1:1 setting.
Will certainly be interested in one of these once the production models are on the market. Maybe this preproduction model will be tweaked to improve on the internal relations.
Hi Micael. From Spain: El reflector blanco que usas en el video lo has comprado o te has fabricado tú. Es la primera vez que lo veo y me parece genial. Regards!
The poor suppression of internal reflections would be a problem for me as well, even at such a low price. I wonder if TTArtisans might take this feedback on board and alter their manufacturing process in order to increase contrast and reduce flare.
Hi Micael! Thanks for the great video! A Question about the weakness. Do you mean the bright spot relatively near to end is the unwanted reflection? If so unscrewing the back and attaching some black velvet should be easy or? Or is the reflection more in the middle of the lens so I'd have to take it completely apart? Thanks for the answer!
Despite the poor lens coating and said internal reflections (Occasional low contrast), I like the lens for the price points and in general, I can trust in TTArtisan. I would've considered it if I didn't have my Laowa 100mm f2.8 and an arsenal of older 50-60mm vintage macro lenses (Gems & Jewels).
I really like the colors in these pictures, did you use a in-built filter from fujifilm itself? The color spillover makes these pictures very dreamy, I actually like it hehe
@@MicaelWidell I know that ☺ , but this seems promising (it can support burst mode) and the light is also kind of soft . Pls give it a try so we can also examine.

I think I went through 5 reviews now before ever hearing about this color spillover issue. Thank you and good job
Thank you for this review! Helps a lot! Will fix the small flaw! 😉
Will you release mk II or include the fix before mass release?

I have a 7mm of TTartisan and it is fun with architectural shoot. Some of sample in this lens also looks really nice . Thanks for reiview!
Intressant objektiv som verkar ha en plats på marknaden med sin kvalitet och låga pris!

I hope they will. This should be a pretty easy thing to correct. Common newbie mistake when a lens manufacturer makes their first macro lens.

Can you please recommend some vintage macro lenses for Fujifilm? I'm search for one...thank you!
Which is better, this one or brightstar 60mm?
Thanks for sharing another wonderful video 😁👍
Thank you! Cheers!

No filters were used. Just RAW files and some light editing in Lightroom
Great review! Lovely pictures. Appreciate your pointing out the internal reflection problem!
Would the internal reflection be an issue with the backlighting if using this lens to scan negatives? Thanks.
It could be - depends a bit on what angle the light enters at.

I can smell mk II being released shortly
Thanx for the great video ❤
Compared to Meike 60mm macro?
TTArtisan 40mm f/2.8 vs 7artisans 60mm wich is better?
Great video thanks greetings from Perth Western Australia 🦘
Would you recommend this over extension tubes with either a kit lens or a 50mm prime?
Yes, a macro lens makes it easier to do macro photography. I recommend it if you want to get serious about it.
Thank you so much
Please review the new godox my 12 flash
I don’t think I will. As you might know I think ring flashes produces ugly photos, so that flash is not very exciting to me.

I am having Fujifilm XT-5 , shall I go with this lens or Laowa 60mm macro please suggest.
For that camera you should get the Laowa 65mm: bit.ly/mwlaowa65
Ttartisan 40mm or 7artisan 60mm mark ii fir fujifilm??
You have reviewed both but did not compare them.. which one should i buy.. plz reply
They are pretty much equal in performance. Pick the one you feel like - you can't go wrong with either.

Thanks a useful review. TTArtisans said they will fix the reflection problem. It would be good to see a review in the future.
Does anyone know if this be any good at photographing 35mm negatives?
Thank you
7artisans or tt artisans macro lens, which one do you recommend more?
They are pretty similar. Watch both my reviews and pick the one you think is best for you. Both are great.
@@MicaelWidell okay. Thank you so much
Great video
Would you recommend this lens for scanning 35mm film?
Not sure - I did not test if it has distorsion unfortunately, which can be annoying when scanning film. Otherwise it is probably great.

You have to enable the setting to shoot without lens. It is in your menu somewhere.
The resell value of these TT is ZERO!
Since the new price is so close to zero I am not surprised
